25.01.2022 Nice Eastern brown from Marburg earlier. This guy was on the hunt for rodents when i arrived so was preoccupied but then i spotted another brown snake a few metres away but that one vanished before i even had chance to get near it. Didn't have much room to work with between the water tank and fence and this guy seen me coming but managed to grab it before it took off.... 25.01.2022 Sorry about the graphic pics,this poor eastern brown from rosewood had a pretty brutal injury to half its face. It was still well & truly alive when i arrived but obviously no chance of surviving so was taken to vet & euthanized. Not sure what caused the injury have an idea but anyway,another crazy day.... 0411 399 272 have a good night.

25.01.2022 Little python chilling on a bookshelf at pine mountain this morning. Resident noticed one of the books weren't sitting back properly and this little guy was sitting content lol. 0411 399 272 have a good day.

24.01.2022 Some calls don't always turn out to be a snake,like this early morning call before turned out to be a centipede. Can be forgiven at 6am in the dark seeing something fast moving across the carpet that resembles a snake,I've had calls for a cocoon in a yard, a feather in a pool and piece of rope to name a few it does happen lol. 21.01.2022 Beautiful Red belly that was curled up behind the residents pond feature at Prenzlau. Was pretty close to the front door so now relocated to a nice creek. Nice change from brown snake after brown snake lately lol another busy day.... 0411 399 272 have a good night.

19.01.2022 So this poor good sized Eastern brown had been stuck in this dam at the Gatton research station for the past few weeks. I think i managed to get him just in time, any longer today and he was cactus. The workers assumed he could get back out of the dam hence why they didn't call weeks ago but seen it there again today. With the very warm temps the last few weeks its amazing he's still kicking,obviously the water kept him alive but he's one sunburnt cooked and exhausted snake.... Now at the vets were it will be touch and go and is deep in slough (shedding skin) so would of went in to the dam to soften the skin(& a drink) and was then stuck in there. Hopefully a good outcome and will keep updates in the post. 0411 399 272 have a good night.

19.01.2022 Mating eastern browns at Redbank today. Unfortunately when i got there they both darted back under the rock retaining wall but will be round 2 again in the morning. Tricky part will be if they both come out at the same time,will see how it unfolds in the morning & might go do a live feed. Photo credit taken by the resident.... 0411 399 272 have a good night.

19.01.2022 Solid python in old car engine at Walloon this afternoon. This big old nugget found a nice dark spot while in the process of shedding his skin(hence why its dull in colour). When in the process of shedding their skin snakes eyes will change to a milky blue colour and there skin becomes opaque. During this process(about a week) they are pretty much blind & will seek a nice dark place until they've completely shed the skin.... Found this guy a nice big log to hide under near a nice creek to continue shedding. Busy one today and warming up most of the week. 0411 399 272 have a good night.

14.01.2022 Not a snake but a cool little lizard called the burtons legless lizard,found this guy amongst the woodpile yesterday while trying to find the brown snake. These cool dudes often get mistaken for a snake,the obvious difference being the pointy shaped head,visible ear holes and they have a fleshy tongue not forked like snakes. They also feed on small garden skinks. Thought I'd share as some people may have never seen one.... 0411 399 272 have a good day.

14.01.2022 Eastern brown from marburg last week. Had not much room to work in between the tank and the fence,as i snuck up on him he was on to me very quickly so it was a Mexican stand off for a few seconds as i stayed still staring at each other lol. Could have easily gave me the slip but he went back in to hunt mode looking for rodents so i was able to grab him.... There was actually a second one but it disappeared pretty quickly and couldn't find it. Good example here of staying perfectly still if you happen to surprise a snake like this, it will just go about it's business and be on it's way if you remain nice & still easier said then done i no lol but it works. 0411 399 272 have a good night.

14.01.2022 Very nice photo taken by Gordon Hepworth of an Eastern Brown flexing it's iconic defensive posture and orange spots on belly at his home in coominya. It had unfortunately disappeared out of sight while i was on the way(happens a lot). Eastern browns will pose in this S position when they feel threatened,its basically their final warning to be left a lone before opening up can of serious woop arse.... 0411 399 272 have a good weekend.

14.01.2022 Awesome little Bandy bandy that was lucky not to drown in a pool at Eebenezer this morning. This little guy was pretty exhausted and not much gas left in the tank when i arrived,but he's fine now with plenty of life. Bandy bandy's are weakly venomous and very reluctant to bite,they are a subterranean snake which feed only on blind snakes(another species of snake)... They are common but not often seen,if you have one around your place they are fine to leave be. Very cool little snakes. 0411 399 272 have a good day.

13.01.2022 An extremely thirsty Eastern brown from Riverview. This little fella is very emaciated and very dehydrated,it drank for a good 18mins barley taking a breathe,I've never seen a snake drink for this long the entire time I've been doing this. Keep in mind this is a wild snake and the ridiculous reputation brown snakes have well here's this one drinking in my lounge room not one bit interested in being defensive towards me just wanted a long drink.... I'll post more pics & vid in comments,got itself badly stuck & will be assessed by vets hopefully will get back to full health. Crazy day for calls 0411 399 272 have a good night.

12.01.2022 Poor Eastern brown got itself royally stuck in some netting at pine mountain yesterday. He's not doing to crash and currently at the vet. Netting can be horrible stuff for snakes and all wildlife,unfortunately some people use it intentionally for this reason,the resident yesterday wasn't one of them people and this was an accident the netting is now in the bin.... Can be a delicate and sometimes dangerous process carefully cutting off the netting,will post update in comments later on,busy day yesterday for brown snake calls. 0411 399 272 have a good Sunday.

11.01.2022 Eastern brown from Boonah. The lovely elderly resident was obviously very concerned as it was close to the back door coming in and out from a gap in the footpath slab. It come out slowly which it had been doing daily to bask in sun,that behaviour points to it being possibly a gravid female.... Its the 2nd brown snake I've removed from the place in a week. Also found a blue tongue lizard in the garage while searching for more snake lol but put it back in the garden. 0411 399 272 have a good night.

08.01.2022 Some nice Eastern brown genetics in Regency downs Relocated this nice looker at the neighbouring property to the one i got in wood pile last week,similar looking this one had nice faint orange bands(hard to get a decent pic when it wont stay still)The resident seen this guy slither in to a hole in the pot plant & cleverly placed the pot plant in to a bucket put the lid on and snake was contained. On another note nearly 6 years to the day since starting this page it's reached... 20k likes not a bad little milestone,so cheers heaps to everyone who follows the page the snake seasons roll on 0411 399 272 have a good night. 08.01.2022 Eastern brown caught in mouse trap at mt tarampa this afternoon. Had a run of brown snakes stuck in things lately,usually get a few every season caught in these kind of mouse traps. Its got a fair bit of damage from the trap so off to vet to be assessed. It's a matter of gently pinning the head and then releasing from trap,they obviously come out of it pretty peeved off.... 07.01.2022 Couple of impressive sized pythons from pine mountain,these 2 had a pretty good fight by the looks with the smaller one having a few brutal lacerations over him. The residents actually thought there was someone in their shed with these 2 making a lot of noise knocking things over lol. Occasionally during male combat they will bite each other & do some damage but its all natural caused and they will have battle scars and just live with it.... Best part was they were both released on the property which was awesome of the residents to let them stay. 06.01.2022 Mr snappy python from pine mountain This guy wasn't to impressed about being moved on from the electrical box. He had a good few cracks lol,also missing a fair bit of the tail. Overall pythons are a relaxed snake but some can have attitude and still give a good bite.... Will post vid of the catch tonight. 0411 399 272 have a good arvo.

05.01.2022 Eastern brown from Redbank. This guy come shooting out from the under the aircon unit very defensive(only because it felt threatened and cornered)mouth wide open & wasn't mucking around. Luckily i managed to stay on my feet lol.... Gets a bit hairy scary in situations like this with a decent sized brown snake spring loading not to far from my face lol,plenty of good sized make Brown snakes on the move at the moment. 0411 399 272 have a good night.

04.01.2022 Couple of nice yellow face whip snakes from Minden this morning. Mildly venomous but not considered dangerous. If You look closely just underneath the eye they have a comma shape or teardrop shape is a good way of identifying it as a whip snake. They don't grow to much bigger then these ones.... But if unsure always treat any snake as venomous. 0411 399 272 have a good weekend.

03.01.2022 Nice dark coloured Eastern brown from Boonah just before. There was 2 mating but they'd separated 10 mins before i got there and this one was on the move when i arrived so managed to grab it but couldn't find the other one. Mating season is coming to an end(November) but still plenty of activity.... 0411 399 272 have a good arvo.

03.01.2022 Nice looking Eastern brown from Regency downs today. Took a good hour & half to move the mammoth woodpile and of course it was under the last few bits of wood lol. Has some nice faint bands on him, would of been a very nice looking snake when the bands were more darker but they fade as they get older. Another example of the variation in brown snakes.... 01.01.2022 Nice python getting some sun after a few days of wild weather at mt Crosby this morning. He looked pretty content having a ciesta in the residents garden and usually they dont mind snakes but didn't want the dogs harassing this guy. Pretty cool how they can coil up so neatly....
