20.01.2022 Single Dwelling - Como Single Dwelling This new dwelling takes on a striking and dynamic architectural form, emphasising its prominent, elevated position. The home appears to thrust out over the natural rock features and ledges, creating a dramatic entry approach. Inside, the design is rational in its layout, responding to the narrow site. The open plan living enjoys a double aspect; with views onto a beautifully secluded courtyard on one side and a spectacular bushland valley on the other. Clearly, this is a design that has taken advantage of its rather dramatic and seemingly precarious cliff-edge position.
20.01.2022 Duplex - Miranda This new duplex was designed to respond to the triangular shape of the site, calling for a layout that departed from the traditional. The client and I saw this as an opportunity to create a strong architectural statement that would set this duplex apart from the rest. With its dynamic form, contemporary architectural language and playful use of materials, we have created a unique result. The ‘industrial lux’ styling of the exterior carries through to the interiors, which are light and airy due to extensive glazing throughout.

17.01.2022 First Floor Addition - Gymea Bay This small home on a corner block is completely transformed by a substantial extension and first-floor addition. The contemporary design, articulated with careful attention to material selection and colour, has effectively created an entirely new house that’s perfect for modern family living. The covered terraces over both levels wrap around the house, creating ideal entertainment spaces which overlook the pool and picturesque Jacaranda tree. The new first floor includes a generous master suite and second living area, both of which open up to the north terrace with stunning views towards the Port Hacking River.

15.01.2022 Alteration + Addition - West Como A contemporary facelift, rear addition and modified interiors give this tired and outdated three-storey house a new lease of life. A spacious split-level design extends the living areas out to the rear with beautiful entertaining areas that take advantage of 180-degree water and bushland views. Roof level glazing and lofty cathedral ceilings provide that wow factor while creating a spacious, light and airy interior. A new modern and open stair links each floor and allows a new visual and physical connectivity between levels. The new street frontage provides a modern architectural language, while the transformed proportions reduce the scale and anchor the property to its landscape setting.
