25.01.2022 I love this song so much, hope you enjoy it too.
25.01.2022 Hank Williams made this song his own and it's a fool who trys to do it any justice but a fool am I.
23.01.2022 Today's song is an old song called Wild Mountain Thyme which I reimagined as a song Lt. Dawes writes to Patyegarang as he is leaving on a ship, sent away early for defying Captain Arthur Phillip. The song is from New Albion.
19.01.2022 A Lyle start to the week.
16.01.2022 From The Reverent Jorfy, a co-write with Bibi Cotman.
15.01.2022 From The Reverent Jorfy, hope you enjoy this version.
11.01.2022 Friday's offering from Life Got In The Way. Amazed I could remember this, particularly at the bridge. It's all still under the fingers apparently. Have a great weekend. We are having dinner with old friends this evening, what could be better in this crazy world?
08.01.2022 Mary Gauthier is a songwriting hero of mine and an all round badass. I heard Bill Chambers do this song before I heard Mary's original and he owned it and now here I am having a go at it. Hope it brightens your day in some way.
08.01.2022 Probably a most favourite this one. Written in Tasmania during a Passenger concert and finished on the plane flight home. I often wonder how the fella who was convinced he could have a soft landing break up fared.
05.01.2022 I went looking for a One Eyed Jesus Icon in a store called Obscura in East Village, NYC that specialised in all things odd, occult and on the edge. After looking around the small shop for some time I finally thought I might have better luck if I asked the owner. He was the most amazingly dressed chap I have ever met, thoroughly unique and sharp as. He took my question as if it were all rather normal, had a very good think about it and finally answered, No! From the album, The Reverent Jorfy it's a co-write with Bibi Cotman.
05.01.2022 From the album, Life Got In The Way. Infamously a song about self-gratification, it was also a document of recovery. I had been in a deep dark hole and I looked up in the sky and saw two pelicans and I thought that was the most beautiful thing I had seen in a long while. For that moment I felt happy.
05.01.2022 From the album, Twenty Good Summers by John Kane and Andy Gordon. Jimmie Rodgers was the father of country music and loved a good yodel. Don't we all just love a good yodel. Happy Friday and I'll see you on Monday.
02.01.2022 No video today folks, stay tuned for next week where it begins again. Have a great weekend.
