24.01.2022 A chance encounter and experience of a lifetime.

24.01.2022 January is always a quiet time for me, so Im hooking into Uni. This semester Im studying animation. Ive just completed phase one of my assessment which is to create a model sheet. I was thinking of putting a logo on the shirt, do you think I need it? Anyway... now to animate my new, nicer version of an F45 trainer who is nicer to

23.01.2022 A little political statement. Another Uni Project, I promise Ill post some real work soon. Any feedback appreciate, does the plot make sense?

23.01.2022 That awkward moment when youre in the front row shooting a conference and you notice a bald headed man with a camera, prominently displayed on the big screen.

20.01.2022 The new office is looking good, it now includes a Wacom Cintiq, looking forward to using it during 2020.

20.01.2022 Starting to feel like holidays, lunch at the Victory Hotel, followed by a swim at Sellicks. Feel lucky to live in this state.

19.01.2022 Today I submitted my assignment on creating info-graphics. It was quite a cathartic process, it took me back to many many years ago when I bought my first PC and couldnt tear myself away from its basic drawing programs. In hindsight I should off dropped out of Engineering then and transferred to Graphic Design. Its never too late though right? Anyway check out the article below, it shows the original data and the finished data, to me it really highlighted how considered d...esign can really convey a message. Of course, as usual any feedback is mega appreciated, Im really determined to move up a few levels and feedback is an important way todo this. https://andystevenphotography.com/today-i-learnt-the-impor/

19.01.2022 New business cards have arrived. Ill post some details on my services in a little while.

19.01.2022 Taste your birth year at Seppeltsfield, photographed during my week shooting for Great Wine Capitals.

18.01.2022 As you can imagine my work as a photographer has dried up, so to get by Im upping my university hours and hoping to gain some skills in animation, illustration and digital design. If youve been wanting some high quality social media content, a how to animation or something else but its been out of reach cost wise, now may be a great time to get some great looking content and branding with out breaking the bank.

18.01.2022 A video from todays event, perfect conditions, good turn out and a well run event. Hope to see you next year!

17.01.2022 Recently my camera has been playing up a bit, although seems happy the last 2 weeks. Ive just spent $1,200 getting a lens repaired. It looks like Ive taken 160,000 shots with it. Ive heard two schools of thoughts, either your camera can last for ever if get it serviced or after a certain amount of clicks its screwed.... Should I invest $5-10K getting lenses and body working properly, or am I better off investing in new gear... Id be interested in the thoughts of my photographer friends.

17.01.2022 People enjoying the Greenly Beach Rock Pools #southaustralia #coffinbay

17.01.2022 I need some help. Im doing some research for a client. Just wondering how any small business owners out there chose their accountant. Was it google search, direct mail, word of mouth, etc etc?... Any feedback is really appreciated.

17.01.2022 I dusted off the old film camera and grabbed a few rolls of B&W. It really is a wonderful medium. My advice to any budding photographers, start shooting film. It teaches you to understand your settings before you shoot, the look of film is so raw and the excitement of getting a film developed has to be experienced. Ive got a blog post coming next week on my b&w photo trip to a potato farm. Heres a photo of Megs and Taz from one of my rolls.

16.01.2022 Hmmm, not sure this is how swagging is supposed to work. Escaped to KI for a few days of camping and relaxing and this happens!

15.01.2022 I know I have a lot of Tri people that like make page so I thought I would share this here. If we all chip in a few bucks we can help Matt get his bike back. The poor bloke had his brand new TT bike stolen and had no insurance and no funds to replace it.

14.01.2022 My last prop for my short film, The Beach House has just been delivered. The film, a short story for my uni studies on climate change, is written by me, shot by me and stars me. But Im now happy to announce a new star lead in Steve DAmbrosio. Shooting starts Monday, however it may or may be not released to the public depending on how our acting skills stack up!

13.01.2022 Image for the new mexex website. Tricky shoot, because production was in process I couldnt set up any of the shots, I like shooting like that though, it gives the images a real authenticity.

13.01.2022 I'm working on a new website for a client, including a new colour scheme. I used a split complimentary scheme and based it on the yellow of their logo. Quite pleased with how the site's illustrations are going. I hope you recognise which city?

13.01.2022 Welcome to 2020, xmas seems like a lifetime ago. Im making the most of a quiet January to get on top of Uni, this semester animation design. I will be learning the animation pipeline along with the 12 principles of animation, Ive already learnt a bucket load. Here is my first animation, all hand drawn frame by frame.

12.01.2022 On a shoot this morning and saw this photo from 1906 on the wall at The University of Adelaide, Law School. Good to see some things never change, 103 years and we still cant get everyone looking a camera

11.01.2022 Nice to be back down on the beach, I think the last shoot I did down there was the middle of winter. Much more pleasant now.

10.01.2022 Over the next few weeks Im planning to announce some new services inline with some skills Ive developed through my course. Im really excited about the future, so please check back for more details. Ive just handed up my last assignment for the semester, it has been a great semester, I cant believe how much Ive learned. The course has really challenged how I think and improved my understanding of what makes a good design. Ive got a frantic few weeks to get through, it is conference season at the moment, then onto planning the next phase of my business.

09.01.2022 A friend and I were swagging down at Lady bay. Whilst we were chewing the fat and watching the view I noticed the cool way that cars lit up the trees. This images is available, along with many other South Australian landscapes for free on my website.

08.01.2022 This photo taken of Backstairs Passage is available for free download on my website. Check out profile for link..

08.01.2022 Mucking around modernising my logo a bit. Initial feedback hasnt been positive, so I thought Id ask for some feedback here. I want to keep my bird on a wire

08.01.2022 Here is my first animation job. I did my animation module at Uni last semester and enjoyed it very much, so much so I put the feelers out for some more experience. Thanks to Mel from Humanology Recruitment for giving me this project. As I expected it was a huge learning curve and I had a few false starts along the way. Some things I like about it. Well, I think its got a bit of personality. All the cheapy cheap ones that I get one hundred ads for all seem to lack any personality. Ive been consistent with the branding as well. Of course next time there are things Ill do differently, but for my first effort Im very pleased.

07.01.2022 Putting the finish touches on a project for Digital Design Technologies, a 12 page Magazine. I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, I'm thinking of removing the fake ads and actually getting some copies printed. Getting to use my photos in a design has been hugely rewarding.

06.01.2022 Had fun doing some cycling shots with Pro Triathlete Steve McKenna

06.01.2022 Start of my next project, thought I would share it because it was cute. Of course its base on Ella. Ive learnt so much from the animation course, not only things that apply to creating animations, but skills I can use in video as well. Looking forward to picking up my first animation job outside the course.

06.01.2022 The never ending burpee, what a wonderful thought.

05.01.2022 Mambray Creek, Southern Flinders Ranges. #southaustralia #landscapephotography

05.01.2022 Well, Ive managed to pick up a few animation projects from the little video I put out last week. I know I need to slow this down, its really been a test for using Adobe Animate. Just wondering if you think the cat has personality? Also, the general quality? Its been fun to do, but I feel guilty when Im working on it, because it is fun and I feel like I am skiving off!!... Remember, at the moment just $25 an hour for animation..

05.01.2022 A video I made for ECMS at The University of Adelaide

04.01.2022 At Uni Im creating a brochure for a fictitious Zoo, its really fun integrating photos Ive taken with a design, really fun. Even more fun doing illustrations (the koala is my drawing as well).

04.01.2022 Trying to get some pics of the Emily racing with the Tempo crew, shout if you want a hires version, happy to supply for free if you tag me.

03.01.2022 Just arrived in Coffin Bay, magnificent. Plan to scope out photography locations tomorrow, but hoping the wind drops so I can some shots that shows this place for what it is. Stunning.

03.01.2022 I was riding my bike along Brookman Road a week or so back and I noticed this vista. On Sunday I drove up with my photography gear, I just missed the light I was hoping to get. Expect a new version of this photo soon.. On the topic of Landscape photos I planning to post a lot more frequently, Covid lockdown has given me time to reignite my passion for landscape. Stay tuned!

01.01.2022 My word of the day is pivot. Ive spoken to a few other small business owners today and most used this word. Its interesting, 99% of my business comes from events, higher education and tourism. The big three to get hammered. Im probably looking at a 90% plus cancellation rate for the rest of the financial year.... Whats interesting about that I hear you ask? Well, I sort of dont care, I just need to pivot and look for work elsewhere, its what small business does EVERY day. In fact Im kind of looking forward to the opportunities it will bring, force me to get off my backside and move the business in a direction Ive wanted todo for a while. It kind of makes me proud as well, you realise being in small business, like I have for 30 plus years, you need to move quick and be resilient. Lastly, on a slightly political note, I agree with what is happening, you look at Italy as an example and I sure as hell dont want that happening here, we need to flatten the curve. Good luck every one, it will be an interesting time ahead!
