25.01.2022 Today the Victorian Government and its peoples should be proud to be starting a treaty process with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Anembo has also taken the intuitive this year and is proud to be undertaking a Reconciliation Action Plan with MURAconnect an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned, controlled and operated business. Our Reconciliation Action Plan program is overseen by Reconciliation Australian (RA). Reconciliation Australia’s RISE Framework ...contains four types of RAPs (Reflect, Innovate, Stretch, Elevate). Anembo is an Aboriginal term for ‘Peaceful or Beautiful Place’, MURAconnect have confirmed that our use of this word does not breach any cultural protocols. In the Aboriginal world when you find a shady tree in a meadow, a comfy seat on a creek bank or a vista to sooth the soul. You have found your Anembo We continue to dedicate our work to creating ‘beautiful peaceful places’ for all Australians! 20.01.2022 Tim with David Shaw, renowned Queensland outdoor furniture design legend and owner of Street and Garden furniture celebrating a decade of collaboration providing excellence in public parks and facilities. In the background you can see some of David’s ‘Bulcock Beach Collection’ of furniture installed by Council and still looking fresh! And the seafood and wine lunch was also excellent!

15.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that Anembo is now a member of Landscape Queensland, the peak industry group for landscape contractors. Anembo values working with LQ contractors and keeping up to date with new products, cutting edge knowledge and industry feedback. Our involvement in judging the LQ construction awards since 2015 continues to be of great value in keeping up to date with landscape design, construction techniques and products. ... Our latest projects, that was built by Pelican Waters Construction (unfortunately not a member but am working on it) has an amazing ‘rocky shore’ that was complex and challenging from concept to approvals to budgeting and finally building the thing!!

08.01.2022 GemLife Pacific Paradise Sales Office now completed Project info... The new GemLife project at Pacific Paradise is now approved with Civil works underway and the sales staff busy in their new building. Hats off to the GemLife Landscape Construction team in putting some quality time into making this design a reality. The landscape is tailored to celebrate the built form with framing palms, colourful layered plantings and platforms of ‘Sir Walter’ a richly textured broadleaf turf for that lush subtropical feel. Timber nosing’s continue the horizontal lines that are juxtaposed with the vertical battening. Honed concrete ramp and steps with highly polished stainless hand rails provide a touch of quality. The team at anembo are now looking forward to extending this quality through the coming stages starting with a long wide entry avenue featuring mature date palms and flowering trees.

08.01.2022 Our recent team meeting, was a first ever where all staff except the Principal were ‘off site’ at home offices. One of the positives of the CVC is the opportunity for change inspired improvements in society, our Landscape Architecture profession and us as professional consultants. When I began my career over 30 years ago my primary business building task was to educate developers and other professionals about the socio-economic and amenity values of good landscape planning ...and design. Promoting change was a futile head butting exercise until councils mandated the need for a landscape plan and the UDIA promoted landscape as a vital marketing tool to sell land. This idea of ‘Changing Minds Improves Designs’ really encapsulates what we do as landscape architects and why there is so much resistance from clients to change to include ‘landscape design values’ when ‘change’ subconsciously means ‘variation and cost’. Have a look at the following article which discusses this fundamental contradiction. Clearly, design needs to be taught at primary schools for our nation to realise its potentials. https://uxdesign.cc/spreading-the-value-of-good-design-bc0a
