25.01.2022 *******************ARTIST OF THE WEEK****************** Please welcome husband and wife duo, Eric & Monique!! Sounds like an entertaining and interesting 2020 have a read! 1. Where did you grow up?... Eric was born and raised in Murwillumbah, NNSW in the beautiful Tweed Valley, one of the finest places on earth. Monique was born in Lismore not too far away but we never met each other until much later down the track. While Eric stayed firmly planted in the Tweed Valley for the best part of 20ish years of his life, Monique’s family moved around a lot and she lived in places like PNG, NZ, Tasmania to name a few. 2. What do you enjoy doing? Other than music of course, Monique loves reading, writing, traveling and exploring. She hopes to write a book one day. She’s a qualified High School Teacher and may return to that after the kiddies grow up a bit more. Eric is into technology, cars, running, videography, Web design, traveling and ministry, he has a dream of getting a private pilot’s licence one day and would love a drone. 3. What is one way you have grown in 2020? ONE WORD. PATIENCE. Oh man, Patience has been one area where we have been pushed to the limits. Also, learning to trust God more in the fog of change and learning to lean into new seasons and try to adapt with the fact that being a touring musician for a time would be quite a difficult thing to do with this terrible pandemic sweeping the world. It’s been a year of adapting to change, welcoming a new little one into the world and learning to wait and be patient through trials. 4. Best concert you’ve been to? That would probably have to be when Bethel music came to Melbourne and we got to be there in person to worship the Lord with 1000s of believers, it was a special night! 5. Any fun facts? We’ve lived in a caravan for 10 months now because we had hoped to go around Australia with our young little family to visit churches and cool places along the way with our music ministry. We’ve spent most of that time in the backyard waiting for lockdowns to lift and adversities with car issues to subside. We have managed to like each other still (haha!) while being trapped in a tin can for this time. 14.01.2022 ******************BEHIND THE SONG*************** ‘You are With Me’ is a song that was inspired by the scriptures Psalm 23 and Psalm 121. The song was created on a rare kid-free Sabbath afternoon. After almost giving up on our short songwriting session a melody came out, with just one line "Where does my help come from? From the Lord." We sang this again and again and again until it started to bring out some for real '80s round song vibes. We were drawn to Psalm 23, and what c...ame out after was as smooth and free-flowing as the streams of water described in the Psalm. It was beautiful, a moment of worship and rest. We sat in wonder at what the Lord inspired. It came out of nowhere, and after almost walking away from the piano disappointed with nothing, this message and gift was gratefully received! We hope that it blesses you as much as it has us. 07.01.2022 ****************BEHIND THE SONG**************** Kemy Ogendi and Anna Beaden collaborated on the last ANSC ‘Renew’ album with the song, Reply to Ecclesiastes. Here is Kemy sharing behind the song: Anna Beaden and I wrote "Reply to Ecclesiastes" together last year. We sat down on the floor, in the chapel at Avondale College with a bible, a piano, a guitar and a notebook. Within hours, the song took on a life of it's own, with a message that we didn't expect. This song's about... how there IS meaning in life even when there seems to be none. In Jesus, God has given us "exceedingly, abundantly" more than anything we could ever ask or hope for. ... And from Anna: What if there is MORE to this life? I'm not sure if you have had the privilege of reading Ecclesiastes but from reading it you can see this sense of desperation and questioning. The author is lamenting that everything is meaningless - we come and we go from life, in the end we all fade like flowers in the field. Do we just work our whole lives so that in the end we can be buried in a nice grave? Death is inevitable so what is the point of it all?! This song grapples with these ideas and urges to give a response. May you know there IS more. May you come to Him when you hear Him call. This song came as a gift and we are grateful and humbled to capture this message of hope.

06.01.2022 ******************BEHIND THE SONG************* Marty shares behind the song, "Be Renewed" from the ANSC 'Renew album: When studying at Avondale College, I would often jog along the scenic Sandy Creek Trail. One particular morning, as I ran, I was enraptured by a beautiful scene rays of sunlight beaming through the canopy above and shedding warmth and light along the path before me. In awe, I stopped in my tracks to take in the moment. I thanked God for, what I considered to... be, the portrait He had painted just for me. I didn’t know it then, but a song was born. This song, written in 2012, became a favourite for a group of us college students who were involved in a Newcastle University Care Group ministry back in 2012-2013. Let’s never become too busy to connect with Christ each day. He is our Creator and Saviour and He is worthy of our best time, our best thoughts and our best affections. Just stop, and be renewed. 01.01.2022 **********BEHIND THE SONG********** Talented ANSC artist MICHELLE MCILHAGGA shares behind her song Faith for the ANSC Renew Album: When Carly approached me to write a song for the first album, I didn't know where to start! Luckily my Dad who is amazing with words helped me out. Our theme for this song was having faith through the uncertain times we are currently living. By looking back at how God worked wonders with the forefathers of the Bible, we can look forward with r...eassurance and Faith that God will never leave us nor forsake us.
