22.01.2022 Pam has provided this poster for folks to maybe copy and print out and attach to your fridge in the week from Palm Sunday and leading up to Easter. Love and prayers to all.

22.01.2022 Mothers Day. Happy mothers day to all the mums out there. Here is a picture of my Beautiful wife Kate receiving breakfast in bed. First time this has happened since the early 2000s. I wonder if the clergy out there realise the sacrifices their spouses and children make for them in their ministries .....giving their Priest parent up to the church on all of the special days like mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, Christmas and Easter. Corona Virus has given us a chance to do special things when we would otherwise be at work. A real blessing.

21.01.2022 One of the blessings of this time of isolation is that we are getting to see our "Super stars" as real people without all the glitz and glamour through utube/zoom etc from their homes. Seeing Rod and his daughter relate as real people warms the heart. Lets hope that we see more of this even after the virus leaves us alone.

21.01.2022 Thinking about a game of golf on Wednesday? Why not come down to Beaudesert Golf Club and play in our open medley competition. The timesheet is open (playing in pairs) and cart hire is available at $20 per cart. Social players welcome too. Call 55412291 to make a booking.

20.01.2022 Op Shop Reopening Thank you to Kate, Annette, Brent and Fr Tony for a very successful reopening of our Op Shop. It was great to catch up with our many loyal cus...tomers and those who came for the first time. The Op Shop opened with very strict distancing rules in line with government regulations. A maximum of 9 people (which included staff) were admitted to the shop at any one time. Markings on the floor determined where customers were to walk or stand and everybody followed the direction of staff. Baked goods from Woolworths were also available again and was strictly controlled by members of the staff. Thank you to everybody for your support and prayers. We look forward to catching up with you all on Saturday from 9am - 12 noon. See more

19.01.2022 Hi friends. Kate and I have returned from our two months Long service leave and are back and ready for the new chapter in the life of our parish under Covid19 restrictions. It has been really tough for all of us and every church throughout our country under the threat of covid. Nevertheless, due to the amazing work of our Federal and state governments and the health authorities we are now in a position to open up a little more. We will now be resuming worship at Tamrookum (10....30am on the third Sunday of the month); and Rathdowney (first Sunday of the month). We will also be providing services at Elysium Village from Wednesday 18th November at 11am; and Whiddon Star Nursing Home from November. We will not reintroduce the Wednesday service for the remainder of this year. Our Op Shop has been open for some months now and has been an example to all of us as to how we can continue with life in a Covid world. Thank you to the staff who provide such an amazing service for the community and for the life of our church. Next Sunday we will have morning tea served after the 8am service at Beaudesert. Social distancing practices will be adhered to and folk will be able to sit at tables of four people and be served morning tea by our team. If you have been away from worship for a time due to Covid, we would love to see you at church and share in worship and fellowship afterwards. Blessings and peace. Fr. Tony See more

17.01.2022 A Happy and Holy Easter to you all. We are so sorry that we were unable to worship together this Easter, however I am sure that adherence to the Government guidelines will bring about a speedy recovery. In the mean time stay healthy, stay safe, and stay home. Love and Peace..Fr. Tony, Kate and Matt.

17.01.2022 Greetings friends. I found this article very inspiring and commend the learning from it to you all as you navigate life throughout the current crisis. I especially found these quotes inspiring and essential in my ministry and hope that it rings true in your heart: Christianity has, from the very beginning, been as much about practice as it has been about belief; The early community that followed Jesus was a community of practice. Jesuss followers did not sit around a fire ...and listen to lectures on theology. They listened to stories that taught them how to act toward one another, what to do in the world. They healed people, offered hospitality, prayed together, challenged traditional practices and rituals, ministered to the sick, comforted the grieving, fasted and forgave; Jesus did not walk by the Sea of Galilee and shout to fishermen, Have faith! Instead, he asked them to do something: Follow me. : One of the practices that I have been quite intentional about re-engaging with over recent weeks is the practice of centering prayer. While using the Centering Prayer app helps, it has taken some discipline to make sure I spend 20 minutes at the beginning of the day in silence: The personal disciplines we might explore include: Meditation, Prayer, Fasting, Study, Simplicity, Discernment, Pilgrimage, Forgiveness, Solitude, Submission and Honouring the body. 17.01.2022 I hope this helps folk to find clarity with the current "Black Lives Matter" movement. Now is the time in our communities for prayer, compassion, support and healing.

16.01.2022 OP SHOP Reopening: Our almost completely revamped Op Shop opens for business at 9am on Thursday 28th May. Kate, Annette and Fr. Tony have been busy at work in the Op Shop and have almost completed the process of a complete revamp. The Op Shop opens with very strict distancing rule to be applied in line with government regulations. Social distancing will be applied, and hand sanitiser is to be used on entry. A maximum of 8 people (which includes staff) will be admitted to the shop at any one time. Markings on the floor will determine where customers are to walk or stand and they should follow the directions of staff. Free Baked goods from Woolworths will be available again from start of business, however this will be strictly controlled by members of the staff. Looking forward to catching up with our customers and friends. Peace

13.01.2022 sharing a COVID-19 update. tSpioans1oreie4hd 4pm Friday: A message from the Archbishop This afternoon, I have spoken with Dr Chris Lease, the Deputy Chief Pu...blic Health Officer, to try to get some clarity about congregational singing and COVID-19. He has asked his team to do some more work on this to try to provide more clarity or other options for congregational singing, but at the moment the advice is (and it is advice not a regulation) that in terms of risk mitigation, it is better not to have congregational singing since singing involves greater expiration of breath than normal speaking and therefore has more potential for the virus to be spread if it is present. I think therefore it will be better for us to avoid congregational singing for the time being until we have the extra advice from the office of public health. I will keep you informed as more information comes to me. In Christ +Geoff See more

10.01.2022 Worth reading. It might help us understand the complexities of reopening in our own situations.

02.01.2022 Over the next few weeks/months I will be providing some links to what I consider to be useful tools for exploring and engaging with the scriptures. This week Reverend Greg Jenks gives us some food for thought as we begin the journey.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDnxIaL8wAU

01.01.2022 Church Re-opens on Sunday 12th July at 8am at St. Thomas Beaudesert: Our service will be Holy Communion with the following Diocesan procedures to be followed: Parishioners who wish to attend the service must register at the front porch of the church before they enter the church. Unregistered people will not be admitted. All people must follow the directions of the Covid19 Warden.... Communion is to be administered in one kind only (the bread). The priest alone will consume the wine. The bread will be placed in peoples hands only, not on the tongue. The Priest, Deacon or Liturgical Assistant will use hand sanitiser immediately before and immediately after distributing bread. The people should use hand sanitiser immediately before receiving the bread. People waiting to receive communion (in a line or at the altar) should stand at least 1.5 metres from another person. The only time this distancing can be relaxed is the precise movement of receiving the communion. People should avoid kneeling and touching altar rails. If there is a need to bless a person, the Priest should have their hands over the person but not touch them directly. Strict social distancing practices will be adhered to. When you enter the church building go directly to your marked seat and remain there for the entire service except for when you approach the altar to receive Holy Communion or if you need to leave for personal reasons. Singing will be permitted, however we will sit for the whole service, apart from when we receive communion. Rathdowney, Tamrookum and mid week services will not be considered for services until mid October. Welcome back to church.

01.01.2022 Pentecost 2020 will not be as good this year, but why not still wear RED on the day (31st May) and hook up with a church service on line. I highly recommend either Robina Anglican Church or St. Johns Cathedral.
