24.01.2022 Lenders update: NAB has updated its Lender’s Mortgage Insurance (LMI) policy to allow customers to receive partial refunds where a home loan is discharged within 24 months of draw-down.For loans settled on or after 25 November 2019, refunds will be 40% of the premium paid if discharged within 12 months, and 20% of the premium if discharged within 24 months.Discharged LMI policies taken out prior to 25 November 2019 are not eligible for a refund.

09.01.2022 The Government has recently conducted a review of the law surrounding off-the-plan contracts and has introduced legislation that prescribes greater disclosure obligations for developers stronger protections for buyers. These changes came into force on 1 December 2019.
