22.01.2022 This 2008 Toyota Corolla out of the blue decided it would not start. On investigation we found the engine ECU to be faulty. In order to test and repair it we had to send it away along with the immobiliser unit which happened to be sandwiched between the heater box and fire wall. On receiving the repaired unit back we had a bit of a job on our hands to rebuild it. It starts and runs fine now and with no rattles!

21.01.2022 Mazda 3 service including cabin filter renewal. This was charged for at the clients last service, but I'm guessing it's been in there longer than a year!

21.01.2022 1st of hopefully many Holdens having a 40 minute engine detox. Client has been complaining (as do many commodore owners) that the engine light intermittently comes on. Fault code read out suggest the catalyst efficiency as being too low. Follow up two weeks later and the light had still not reappeared.

20.01.2022 Toyota Prado 1KD-FTV service and engine rocker cover gasket renewal along with check of valve clearances.

19.01.2022 Another Ford territory with leaking rocker cover and spark plug tube seals. If left to long can ruin ignition coils and develop running issues.

19.01.2022 Client was concerned about a strange noise coming from what sounded like behind the dashboard, but only after approximately 15 minutes of driving. Traced fault to aircon drain tube loose and rubbing on front drive shaft. Couple of cable ties and no more noise.

17.01.2022 Update. After a quote from a Ssangyong main dealer in the region of $4k for a new flex plate/ring gear we managed send the original to an engineering firm for repair. Now refitted with a new starter motor she's now up and running again. Total repair cost less than half of the new part quote

16.01.2022 Audi A4 1.8 turbo Misfiring due to leaking rocker cover gasket. Oil contaminated ignition coils. Renewed gasket, spark plugs and full set of coils.

15.01.2022 Suzuki swift rear wheel bearings replaced as worn and noisy. Not sure when the brakes were last cleaned or adjusted? Look at all that dust.

13.01.2022 It still amazes me that on how many new clients vehicles I service, nearly all have probably never had the cabin filter checked or replaced. This clip is to demonstrate just how quick and easy it is. However there are a few difficult ones out there.

09.01.2022 Loved taking this beauty for a test drive today at City Beach. A concours example of a Twin Cam MGA. My Client finally let me get my hands on this beauty and requested that the brakes hydraulics were bled as felt poor following repairs elsewhere.

07.01.2022 The Timing belt on this Mitsubishi Triton diesel is due at 90k and I've seen some belts on different manufacturers go way over their stated internal. I found the balance shaft belt completely stripped of its teeth and just waiting to slip off and get tangled up in the timing belt causing major engine damage. Is your belt due? Don't ignore it you might not be so lucky.

06.01.2022 A call out to a Ssangyong that would not start. Found the starter motor at fault but on rotating the engine and further inspection found the ring gear worn. Unfortunately the gearbox will need removing to repair this one.

04.01.2022 Another Mitsubishi Triton serviced on site (followed by 3 others at a different location for the same company) Renewed front brakes and fitted pre skimmed discs.

04.01.2022 Peugeot 207 rear brake pads and brake fluid flush as reported at earlier service.

04.01.2022 Remember to always check your engine oil regularly between services. Every engine burns some oil. Even new ones! Luckily my client paid attention to their 2015 holden Colorado's info display. These seem to be quite an oil burner according to reports.
