25.01.2022 When you spend more time talking about the blessings in your life, the ripple effect of that is amazing! #ahappierworld #broadcastinghappiness #positivechange

25.01.2022 I just saw this old post. I dont even remember writing these words but they are mine and all true! Im back in Australia now and still helping clients on a daily basis. I saw my mum die of lung cancer, she was healthy and fit and just 66 years old, but her lungs were ruined from years of smoking.... The first time I remember her not smoking and not wanting a cigarette, was when she actually wrote the words down as she was on a ventilator. She was surprised as she wrote: I dont even fancy a cig! Dont leave it that long

24.01.2022 I used to have Whitby Hypnotherapy as my page a couple of years ago when I opened a clinic in the town. I have lots of fond memories of my time in Whitby, my little room on Skinner Street was perfect. For some reason I thought I needed to cancel this page when I moved back to Australia. Until, I had fish & Chips at The Whitby Fryer the other day and it occurred to me that I can use this page here for hypnosis.... So here I am, inviting you to my Whitby Hypnotherapy page. A space where I will be sharing my passion for all things hypnosis. including the benefits with some of my favourites being: stress anxiety, unwanted habits weight loss smoking pain reduction sports performance confidence motivation. I take this opportunity now to invite you to this page if you are interested in any of the above. Ange

23.01.2022 I love this guy and his message

23.01.2022 When you’re looking for a therapist, it can be a bit daunting. If the prices are not shown you have no idea what to expect. So I’m transparent in sharing to help you make the choice that’s right for you

23.01.2022 Research: hypnosis and quitting smoking In a recent stop smoking study, where smokers attended individual hypnotherapy for stop smoking over three sessions, 81% had stopped smoking after the treatment ended, and at a 12 month follow- up nearly 50% remained smoke free. And 95% of the people were satisfied with their treatment.... References: (1) Elkins GR, Rajab MH. (2004) Clinical hypnosis for Smoking Cessation: preliminary results of a three session intervention. 23.01.2022 Aim to do this..

22.01.2022 The power of love is a universal experience. It's one of the most fundamental emotions in the human psyche and presumably the very first thing we consciously fe...el after we leave the womb. To varying degrees, we've all been touched by love and the profound and sometimes inexplicable influence it has over us. When given and appreciated perfectly, love can make a moment, an hour, a year, even an entire life worthwhile. But although love can hold immense power, it is also delicate. It can heal the gravest emotional woes, yet can be wounded by one careless word. It can infuse the most timid of hearts with the strength of a titan, yet can be diminished by pride, selfishness or neglect. A child who is brought up in a loving environment is often infused with a strong, caring and protective heart. Conversely, the violent criminals of the world were almost unfailingly raised in conditions that lacked affection and emotional comfort. Every day, we have the choice to act in love or not. We can either comfort and explain to our child when he falls or makes a mistake, or we can let anger get the better of us. We have the choice to invest in love or allow our pride, career, temper and self-centred desires to distract us from love. That sorry that we just cant seem to say, the lengthening emotional distances we refuse to bridge, the nagging grudges that wont go away, the nights we'd rather fritter away with our friends. This modern world provides limitless distractions that pull us away from doing and saying the things we should to our loved ones. And over time, we might feel that these temporary and superficial pleasures are more worthy of our time and energy. But we draw immeasurable benefits from investing in our relationships instead. We might think that there'll always be time for our loved ones. But will there really? If you can set aside your pride, restrain your anger, say a loving word, squeeze a hand, give a hug, or do something in love, that's the greatest gift you can ever give another human being... And possibly the greatest feeling you can experience.

21.01.2022 That pesky internal dialogue!

20.01.2022 Im chuffed to bits as a yorkshire girl as I read this post. My ego loves to be soothed. Although, Im just the guide. My job is to point you in a direction where you can access all the resources you need to change any unwanted behaviour

20.01.2022 Now, more than ever with Covid restrictions, and so many priorities competing for our time, both in business and personal life, including social media bombarding us from every direction. The ability to focus is even more highlighted to create results. *Blocking time slots can help structure the day... * choose 3 to 5 things to action each day * break your day into 90 x minute blocks *. Turn off distractions and use the breaks between blocks to check emails etc., *. Tick off each completed activity and notice how good it feels to tick off a task. Make sure to get some fresh air and exercise every day. When I was writing my e-book having post it notes helped to structure the thoughts inside my head. If you struggle to keep track, list it notes are just one example of creating a structure and system to get things done

20.01.2022 Anxiety and fear go together like peas and carrots. I mastered anxiety as a young child, it took me 40 years to realise the answer. Once i gained this insight life became easier. I know from personal experience that if your life is spoilt through irrational fears and anxiety, you can feel better, see life in a new way and navigate your experiences with more ease. I cant guarantee you will always be happy, but thats not how life works, but even when the sad stuff happens you can be ok...

19.01.2022 I'm not sure about coincidences, but, I was delighted that two separate clients this week have been climbing Mount Ngungun. This happens to be my favourite moutain near where I live, and is one that I use to run and scramble up as part of my train run training events. If you live nearby, feeling a bit down, or just looking for something to do this weekend, I highly recommend this climb, clear your mind, release a few endorphins, spend a few minutes at the top, surveying the ...view, contemplating and setting a few good intentions for your future. Enjoy! Ange x https://www.aussiebushwalking.com//glass-house-/mt-ngungun

19.01.2022 I was recommended very recently to ask clients for google reviews. Although I know for sure that change can and does happen quickly as clients gain insight, because I witness the changes. It feeds my ego to read these reviews

19.01.2022 A gorgeous gift from a grateful client. Feeling all fuzzy inside.

19.01.2022 The best message I could think of for today :-)))))) loving you ... (photo by anja Photograpy)

18.01.2022 I dont often share clients feedback, I think its my own old programming about not showing off that gets in the way. Anyway, today I ignored the old voice and decided to share anyway. I specialise in helping people understand anxiety and when people have had enough of their old anxious thinking getting in the way, magic can and does happen ... I mastered anxiety as a kid, i thought it was just who I was but I was wrong. Anxiety is a thought habit, a behaviour, most people can look back at habits and behaviours they used to do in the past. I smile when I look back at the old me And its not that the anxious thinking goes away, Im still aware, everyday. Except, these days I choose to ignore the thoughts. If I could change back then, maybe you can too, now

17.01.2022 After completing Kaz Riley’s Sexual Freedom Hypnosis course. I am pleased to be now registered and added to the list of practitioners around the world

17.01.2022 This was fun...

17.01.2022 Our new favourite place for dinner, Brekkie or coffee

17.01.2022 What reality are you creating?

17.01.2022 I know we have the ability to change how we experience life quickly when we gain insight. However, I still love reading these beautiful messages from clients Been feeling fantastic since I first booked in with you, had some real insight and I just feel generally more relaxed! Feel in a good place now to welcome baby into the world Ive been raving about you and told my brother about the memory of our old house - he was amazed with the detail I could go into about ou...r old sitting room!! The brain is fantastic!! I had lots of positive thoughts and ideas immediately after the session and later that night and during the day today. I was in a good mood and felt happier. Jed noticed it as well last night. A line from a song kept popping into my head which says 'I was lost but I'm found'. So I found my old record with the song and I was singing out loud in my car when I was driving to cotton tree pool today. Other thoughts that kept popping into my head last night were 'I will be ok, I am ok' and 'it's getting better, I'm getting better'. And ' bigger better brighter.'

17.01.2022 Started skating five months ago. Wish I had started years ago rather than at 62 but who cares! I feel like a 12 year old when I skate! Practicing stability and a bit of rhythm.

16.01.2022 In this excerpt from the 2017/18 Clarity Certification Training programme, I talk about 'The Teddy Bear Factor'. This simple trick of the mind holds the key to ...resolving unhealthy worry, stress and anxiety. As people see the truth of this for themselves, it can free you from unhelpful misunderstandings and improve relationships, performance and wellbeing.

16.01.2022 In 1212 whilst having treatment for breast cancer I was advised to have 30 sessions of radiation therapy. After reading up on the side effects this didn’t seem very appealing, such as extreme fatigue and burning skin. However, after listening to the strong urge of watching all the Star Wars movies after surgery. I later decided to pretend that at each session, instead of radiation I was being zapped with ‘Jedi Power!’ Most of you know that I love to run, you might not have ...heard how I gained a personal best result in the 10km Caloundra Foreshore Event, half way through radiation treatment. All that Jedi Power worked for me. I’ve worked as a hypnotist since 2004 and belief the imagination to be the language of the unconscious mind. I could talk for hours here, pointing you to the inside out nature of life and how we live in the feeling of our moment to moment thinking

16.01.2022 Somebody said natural light was better, so I headed outdoors with my iPhone to record this video. Not taking into account the noisy birds, the background breeze as well as other unexpected sounds. It’s all a learning experience and the message I’m sharing is louder than the distractions

15.01.2022 I wonder whether you are aware of the power of the human brain and whats possible when you realise the power of thought. I wouldnt advise you to run or increase your ability in any sport until you are really ready to let go of old limiting beliefs that prevent you reaching your goals

15.01.2022 Happy Birthday Simon!

13.01.2022 Perfect morning for a jog along a perfect beach

13.01.2022 Caught in the act!

12.01.2022 Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans! Last year I broke my arm whilst taking part in the Blackall 100 trail run event. So this year I was determined to complete what I started, until taking a tumble whilst out on the trails resulted in a fractured ankle. Yes I was initially disappointed, and then as the noise in my mind settled, I could hear something new.... I now have time to focus on finishing my half finished new website I have more time to read all these books that are stacking up. I sold my ticket within a minute of advertising, so I might just use that money for a girly pamper session. And when those thoughts do pop in about how life is unfair, I see an image of me as a 2 year old throwing a tantrum, I give myself a moment to feel the pain, soothe my inner child, and then distract her with something shiny and bright Im sharing my story here in an attempt to share, how its not what happens in life that creates our reality, its the thoughts we are paying attention to in the moment. Heck.. Im missing being able to run for a while though

11.01.2022 My little mascot when I’m teaching online

11.01.2022 After completing a zoom online session where I hypnotised 49 new hypnotists to increase their confidence

10.01.2022 I shared this post earlier this year. Before Covid! What an interesting year we are having. There’s lots of sadness and also when you look there is always a positive and hope. After a bush fire the green shoots soon come through the black, just like life

09.01.2022 I love the metaphor of the sound of a large brass band playing in our mind is like all the noisy thoughts in our head, and sometimes, the noise settles a little and we can hear the soft flute playing gently in the background. The soft flute is our wisdom, often there but seldom heard because we get distracted by the noise. The noisy thoughts are often loud and have a sense of urgency about them. Whilst the quality of the flute is calm. The flute is like those times when you just know something is right. Or even those times where you miss it but afterwards you say, I knew something was wrong The more we can be still, appreciate the moment we are in, the more we can here the wisdom inside that is always there, no matter how lost we seem.

09.01.2022 I remember how daunting it was back in 2004 when I started charging as a hypnotherapist. Even though I had other therapy clients who were more than eager to sign up, I lacked confidence. Over the years I have gathered many qualifications and increased my skill through experience and learning through every client. I utilise many NLP and other techniques in this 4 x week low cost course, which is a bit of a no-brainer really to help therapists gain more tools, techniques and c...onfidence in their work. Initially started as an online group course which you can watch via this link. I added on an email which is exclusively for therapists, so no junk mail. Just news about videos, freebies, offers, education, etc., Plus Scroll down the page for the link to sign up for the course. Starting in MARCH 2021 Held on a Tuesday morning at 6 am in Australia. Monday evening at 8pm in the UK Monday afternoon at 3pm in NY. If you are interested and want more info, send me a message or write INTERESTED in the chat box. and we can arrange a time to chat online. 09.01.2022 Thank you to Andrea Morrison for sharing

09.01.2022 Imagine how good you will feel when you realise a low mood will pass, just like stormy weather. Sometimes we have to weather the storm allowing feelings to wash all over us, knowing the warm sunshine will come out eventually to warm and smooth our body and mind

08.01.2022 It somehow seems weird to be in January 2021 with all the Covid restrictions, lockdowns and altered plans. But here we are, the time of year when we think of our goals, dreams and outcomes for the weeks and months ahead. One intention I am focussed on is completing the 50km Blackall Ultra Marathon in October. However, after breaking my arm on the first attempt, my ankle this year whilst training I realise anything could happen, but I will enjoy the journey along the way. ...What are your dreams and goals for this year? You can read my latest blog on the truth about goals here: http://www.angelafarlam.com/goals-are-a-useful-tool-but-ac/

08.01.2022 It's not all about the money.. "Hi Angela, sorry not able to zoom tomorrow I need to go out at 1. 06.01.2022 We see life as we are.. not as it is. Stop for a moment and think about what you don’t do and listen to your own reasons, then ask yourself, is this true? After a visit to Harvey Bay in 2007 when it rained the whole time, I decided that Harvey Bay was a miserable place to visit. Until circumstances had me re-visit for a few days recently. This time I fell in love with the place, tge people were so friendly and the energy felt wonderful. Yet I had made up a story via my filter...s, I believed my story and it got in the way of my enjoyment. In fact, We’ve booked to go back soon for another holiday.

03.01.2022 The truth about weight loss

02.01.2022 It’s those little moments when I receive feedback like this that brighten my day. Thank you so much Michael and Facebook for refreshing the memory Angela, I just wanted to contact you. 01.01.2022 Night cap and Jenga after Simons birthday celebrations

01.01.2022 Milton Erickson had a great influence in forming the basis of what is known as NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) He was one of the early modal’s used when John Grinder & Richard Bandler first began modaling ... excellence in people. In his younger day’s Erickson had been bedridden with Polio. Maybe through curiosity he became fascinated in human behaviour. He learned to recognise underlying patterns, and how people can experience change in any moment, depending on what they are paying attention to. A number of pre-suppositions were formed, which practitioners use to help create change in people. I’ve listed just two below. They are not true, but useful when communicating with people. ‘Have respect for the other person’s model of the world.’ (We are all unique and experience the world in different ways. Everyone is individual and has their own special way of being). ‘The map is not the territory. ‘ (People respond to their ‘map’ of reality, not to reality itself. How people make sense of the world around them is through their senses and from their own personal experience; this means that each individual’s perception of an event is different). Just like Alice, we are always changing, in fact, our whole world can change in an instant, just by hearing, seeing or feeling something new

01.01.2022 Did you know you can with practice, choose which thoughts to pay attention to, because they are just thoughts passing through the mind
