13.01.2022 Well 2020 has been the year I didn't expect or want but rather the year I definitely needed. Thank you all for your unwavering support through out this year it has meant that the closure of my salon was simply a speed bump in the road of running the business. A HUGE Thank you to Kelly Kinahan for her amazing work transforming my social media. You are very much the reason I could stay connected this year with all my clients. 2020 has taken something from each of us. This year ...I have talked clients through cancer diagnosis , deaths, divorce, illness, job loss, wage cuts, event cancellations and through so many down situations but slowly for everything 2020 took from us it started to replace the bad with some good. We've celebrated births, weddings, friendships, charity , starting school, finishing degrees, neighbors , Mark McGowan , new houses , new holidays discovering WA and so much more . One thing 2020 cemented for me is over the last 5 years owning my own business I have had , and continue to have, the opportunity to treat some incredible souls. So if in 2020 you decided my salon was no longer for you I wish you well and I will still awkwardly stop in the middle of the shops to say hello. 10.01.2022 Did you know that LED aka light emitting diode therapy, was originally developed by NASA for the purpose of growing plants in outer space??? In the 1990s the Navy Seals begun using it to help heal wounds quickly. It wasn’t long before the healing and anti-aging benefits of LED therapy became a common treatment amongst aestheticians. 07.01.2022 It is back Collagen Induction Therapy aka skin needling. This treatment is typically used for improving the skin texture, tone, fine lines and wrinkles, scarring (such as acne scarring) and skin tightness. (It cannot be used on fresh or keloid scarring.) Skin needling promotes collagen production and the effects of skin needling can last up to one year after treatment.... The below excerpt is taken from a very informative article from Consumer Health Digest. "Yes, skin needling naturally increases collagen production. 05.01.2022 During the pandemic we are seeing more and more home salons pop up, whether they be beauty, hair, eyelashes or nails! As a consumer it's important to ensure that ANY home salon you visit is COUNCIL APPROVED. Why is this important? Because in the event of a mishap or reaction, a salon who does not meet all of the licensing requirements will NOT be covered under insurance, leaving you high and dry!... So how can you tell if a salon is council approved? It's quite easy... 1. They will have a sink/ basin in the designated room. 2. They will have hardwood floor coverings such as wood floors, tiles, lino etc. 3. They will have their qualifications and council approval on display. When a salon is regulated and licensed they are also required to put into place plans for dealing with such a pandemic including risk management and client protection processes.
