He loves his foster brother Max, an older cat and is not put out by his foster sisters, two small to medium noisy dogs. Eliza is a pretty, curious little one with the cutest fluffy face and curvy whiskers. She isn’t scared of the dogs or the local lorikeet. She was the first to come out of the nursery and now madly runs around the house chasing her own tail. Angelica likes to be around her human. Peggy is a sweet and gentle little one. She loves to cuddle up with foster brother Max. She also loves a game with her siblings. She has been known to find the food tin wasn’t put away and was left with a belly full and a fishy smell. Her pretty long grey hairs over the shorter black hairs make her a very cute little cat. 23.01.2022 Our Team would like to give a big thank you to Jade. This wonderful girl for Christmas asked to donate her pocket money for the year to Angel-Paws. She came out to visit HQ with her mum and cousin where she met Lucky and Woody. Lucky was adopted from Angel-Paws last year and Woody is still currently seeking his forever home. Jade and Rae talked about the difference her donation has made to the animals in our care by paying for their vet bills. 21.01.2022 ***GIVING THE GIFT OF LIFE THIS XMAS*** Late last night we got the call to see if we could squeeze these boys in, or at 4pm today they would be PTS. We didn't think twice. This morning we did a mad dash to a regional pound to save them. Our amazing foster carers are already stretched but they stepped up and managed to find space. Banjo and Bandit are now safe and get to celebrate another Christmas in homes that care! We are pretty sure that both of these guys are going to te...st positive to HW and believe that little Bandit is already showing coughing symptoms. ( These dudes are going to cost us between 3k - 4k before they are ready for adoption!) This did not phase us. They are beautiful sweet boys that did not deserved to be abandoned EVER! It just feels sadder that it is Christmas Eve. :( There is no rest in animal rescue, but fortunately Angel-Paws has an amazing team that always seem to make things work. 18.01.2022 Woody has had a big couple of weeks; going to the Angel-Paws Walk & Pledge, doing some media shoots with our much valued sponsors and The Townsville Bulletin and getting some much needed physio. Lauren from Animal Body Care - Massage and Rehabilitation Townsville has been to see him again this week and today we took him for a swim in the river to help strengthen his back leg. His poor foster carer had no idea what she was in for! Nor did Woody. They both waddled around in th...e water together and finally worked out what they were there for. Afterwards the carer stated that she loved wallowing in the water and is looking forward to the next trip. Woody had no comment! We did notice however that after a few little swims Wood's was starting to use his damaged back leg. So here is yet another step in our boys progress. He is getting very close to being ready for adoption, so if you think you can give him the perfect home please let us know. He can be a little nervous meeting people at first, especially in new environments, but will warm to them once he feels comfortable. Not being aware of his size, he can get excited, so care around young children is highly recommended. He is scared of loud noises, eg. thunder, and can jump 5ft fences if trying to escape, so 6ft secure fences a must. Stairs are very intimidating, but I am sure he could conquer them after a while. Boss gets along well with other dogs with a slow introduction, however, he's not a fan of those fury meowing critters. He has excellent manners - waits for his food, and will sit on command. He's currently learning to walk nicely on a lead. Would be suited to someone who is active, a running buddy, or long daily walks and adventures outside of the yard. 12.01.2022 ***Gypsy*** Supporters who have followed us for a while may remember this sweet face that we sadly thought we would never see again. Around 18 months ago Angel Paws took in Gypsy and her sister from a regional pound. The dogs had been rescued from awful situation where they had been confined to a shed for their entire life. These girls were so timid and shut down all they did was cower down, need to be carried anywhere and would hide as soon as they could as they had no unde...rstanding about human affection or attention or anything about being a regular dog in a loving home. After coming into care Gypsy was so terrified of all the changes she escaped her carers yard within only 24hrs by smashing through fence pailings. We searched for weeks on end in nearby bushland, reported her missing to all vets and council, put up posters, posted her everywhere online as missing but unfortunately there was no sign of her and nothing came up at any vet clinics or lost and found sites. We eventually came to the conclusion Gypsy was gone. Then two weeks ago a few of us recognised her face pop up on lost and found pages as being impounded at the Townsville City Council pound. We contacted the pound immediately and sent carers who knew Gypsy out to the pound right away as we were certain it had to be her and we were so excited to see her again! It defintiely was our Gypsy after 18 months missing and we wanted her out of the pound setting immediately. She was not coping at all and we were afraid the pound setting was only going to do her more harm mentally. Unfortunatly she wasn't released back into our care until 5 days later. Gypsy now safe back in a foster home had her health check and a good bath today. As we expected she unfortunately tested heartworm positive but otherwise she is pretty healthy all things considered. Her heartworm treatment will take a few months to complete. Behaviour wise she is still terrified and completely shut down from the world. She is sadly no better than when we originally took her in. It is going take her foster carer a lot of time and patience to get this girl ready to be adopted and we are working closely with our vet to medicate her as well as a trainer to help her gain the confidence she so needs. This girl has a long road ahead of her and needs all the support she can get. We are so happy she is finally back in care and getting what she needs after a lifetime of let down and disappointment. If you can donate to help support Gypsy please do as this girl is going to cost us at least $1500 for her basic medical needs. We will keep you all updated with her story and progress. Tonight things are finally looking up for Gypsy as she has her first round of medication, a warm bed to sleep in, a full tummy of good quality food, friendly doggy pals and humans to love her.
