23.01.2022 As we approach the cooler months, it’s a great idea to boost our immune system. One of my favourite herbs to do this is Pau D’Arco. It is from South America and is a powerful anti bacterial and anti fungal herb. It is known to help colds, flu, candida, skin conditions, parasites and much more. I buy it in its loose form and drink it as a tea. It is inexpensive (around $7.00 for 120g) and can be mixed with other teas to enhance its taste. Here is my recipe:... - Place 2 teaspoons of Pau D’Arco tea into a sauce pan - Add 1 teaspoon of black spiced chai and - 4 cups of filtered water - Bring to the boil and let simmer for 10 minutes - Strain and drink:) See more
21.01.2022 The evenings have been getting cold and we have been craving some warm desserts after dinner...so I have been experimenting with some healthier versions of a good crumble. This is so nutritious and yet delicious. I hope you love it as much as we all do :) Apple, pear and blueberry crumble Ingredients:... - 2 large apples (grated with skin on) - 1 large pear (grated with skin on) - cup of frozen blueberries - Juice of 1 orange or lemon - 6-8 Medjool dates - cup of unsweetened cranberries (or sultanas) - cup of walnuts - cup of rolled oats - cup of almonds - 2 Tablespoons of sunflower seeds - 2 Tablespoons of flax seeds - teaspoon of ground ginger - teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg - Zest of an orange or lemon Method: 1. Preheat oven to 120 c. 2. Combine together the apple, pear, blueberries, cranberries and juice of an orange. Then place mixture into a ceramic baking dish and set aside. 3. Remove the pips from the medjool dates and blend in a food processor separately on high. Once blended add all the nuts, seeds, zest and spices into the food processor and blend until a fine crumb consistency. 4. Pour crumb mixture evenly over the fruit mixture and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with your favourite topping!

08.01.2022 With Spring now well underway, we all need a little motivation to feel and look our best. Let’s keep it simple: Increase: *Your (filtered) water intake. For those of you who would like to know more about the huge health benefits of water, please go to www.watercure.com *More raw food into your diet. Aim for at least 50%. Make this a fun practice though, not a chore. Eg: Replace your morning or afternoon tea piece of cake with a smoothie; Make a big salad for lunch and in...clude a good protein in it to keep you sustained for longer. *Exercise at least half an hour per day. Mix up your exercise, so you don’t get bored! This might be as simple as walking at the beach instead of your normal walking route at home. Exercise not only benefits your body in a positive way, but releases positive endorphins, so makes you feel happier. *Positive affirmations and gratitude this helps you feel better about yourself and believe it or not, helps to highlight random negative thoughts as well. This then gives you an opportunity to recognise the negative thought and replace it with a positive! Each time I walk, I will spend time finding 10 or more things to feel grateful for...it is amazing how great it makes you feel :) *Skin Brushing Great for exfoliating the skin (particularly after winter). Great for lymphatic drainage and strengthening the immune system. This should be done once per day, before showering. *Sleep Our body does so much healing while we are sleeping. As well as functioning better ,we are happier people when we have had a great night’s sleep, with more energy to fit more into our day. See more

05.01.2022 Ive been experimenting in the kitchen this morning and have created this delicious smoothie which provides the perfect chocolate fix. When our bodies are craving chocolate it is often magnesium we need - raw cacao is high in magnesium. Coconuts provide a source of electrolytes and good fats which aid in absorbing magnesium as well as all the other minerals and vitamins provided in this delicious smoothie. ... Ingredients: The water and flesh of 1 thai coconut 2 very ripe frozen bananas I tablespoon of raw cacao 1 teaspoon of goji berries - 1 teaspoon of maca powder teaspoon of natural vanilla extract 1 pinch of celtic sea salt. Method: 1.Blend the water and flesh of the thai coconut on high for 1 minute. 2.Add the other ingredients and blend for a further minute. 3. Enjoy Optional extra: For the colder months, you may like to spice it up with a pinch of cinnamon and or cayenne :-)

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, I just completed a very simple, yet effective, 5 day spring cleanse that I thought I would share with you. I wanted to give my body and system a rest from foods that are harder to digest and yet still have energy to be able to work. I did limit exercise to only a half hour walk per day and made sure I got at least 8 hours sleep per night. I did have a headache all day on day 2, however, just drank more water and rested more. It was gone the following day. I fel...t fantastic the rest of the week. Feel free to follow as I did or make up a variation that would suit you. Sometimes it can be as simple as omitting coffee for a week...just for the challenge :) Out: Caffeine Alcohol Dairy Meat Wheat In: Organic fruit and vegetables Organic eggs Nuts, seeds and legumes Organic rye and sprouted bread (limit to 1-2 pieces per day at breakfast or lunch) Herbal teas make sure they are caffeine free. Loads of filtered water at least 2 litres Organic green powders e.g. chlorella, vital greens etc Cold pressed olive oil etc Probiotics (morning and night) I started my day with my green powder, probiotic & vitamin C powder (optional) mixed with a glass of H2O Wait half an hour before eating. Breakfast - Either a fresh veggie juice and/ or boiled eggs on Rye Lunch - A great big salad with nuts and seeds. Be sure to add avocado and make a yummy (healthy) dressing Mid afternoon Either a green smoothie or berry delicious smoothie Dinner Big bowl of organic soup. Be sure to add legumes to the soup for protein. After dinner snack only if you are hungry either a power ball or a small amount of organic dark chocolate. This is high in magnesium and antioxidants :)
