25.01.2022 This is a sweet little video demonstrating some relaxing acupressure points/techniques to use in the weeks prior to birth or during labour. Obviously if you are at full term pregnancy you wouldn't be lying on your back to do these, but give them a go and see how it makes you feel!
23.01.2022 I've been really enjoying getting to know more about wild herbs and edible plants lately, especially since my garden is so full of them!! What do you think? Do you have some unappreciated treasures in your own garden?
18.01.2022 The first word you see below is the Chinese medicine modality you should try next! :-)

10.01.2022 Mmmmm, how is this for a delicious reason to eat dates on the last few weeks of pregnancy! I wish I'd known about this back in the day.... (Although, I never need an excuse to eat dates, they're one of my absolute favourite treats.... even better than !!)
09.01.2022 I just love this quote. It encapsulates everything I feel when I am in the clinic working with my beautiful patients. When I am giving someone acupuncture, everything else falls away, I enter a flow state, and my intention and energy is fully on each needle as it enters the body. It's a beautiful feeling. If I ever get distracted (which does happen from time to time, just like it does for all of us), I feel it immediately in my fingers, and I'm sure my patient feels it in the...ir body. I breathe and return to this image of the tiger to remind myself of the sacred nature of this medicine I am practicing. Hold the Tiger's Tail. It works every time. I love that this quote came from the ancient sages of China, 4600 years ago. There is still so much that the wisdom of the philosophers and doctors of ancient China have to offer all of us. I wonder what they would think if they could see the world now - including tigers facing extinction and how far out of balance with nature we have become. With reverence and respect to all those who came before me....may I be worthy of continuing to carry out your legacy <3
08.01.2022 I thought this was a beautifully written piece about how to keep a balanced approach for everyone's benefit. https://lissarankin.com/germ-theory-terrain-theory-saving-l
06.01.2022 Are you trying to cut down or cut out coffee? Check out local herbalist Ally Sanchez - Herbalist and Nutritionist's tribute below to one of my favourite wild herbs - Dandelion, and how you can use Dandelion Root as a coffee substitute! I honestly LOVE Dandelion - this year I'm actually PLANTING extra in my garden as it's such wonderful medicine. You can use the roots for tea/coffee as below (my favourite brew),... You can use the flowers in baking (I made a delicious dandelion maple syrup cake recently!), syrups, vinegars and loads of other things (see https://www.ruralsprout.com/dandelion-flowers/), You can use the leaves in pesto (I've posted a recipe in an earlier blog post here https://www.angiesavva.com//the-chinese-herb-growing-in-yo), salads, smoothies or in a different type of tea for urinary issues. Plus, they are just so damn cheerful! I've actually also got some delicious Tea Tonic "Coffee Addict" teabags in store in the clinic now, which is a delicious twist on the standard dandy brew - it also has wattleseed, ashwagandha and cornflower to make an delicious detoxifying, strengthening and supportive cuppa. Let me know if you'd like to try some :-) Three cheers for the humble yet wonderful Dandelion!
03.01.2022 Some more tasty remedies from nature - check out this latest research on humble honey!! Honey is more effective and less harmful than usual care alternatives and avoids causing harm through antimicrobial resistance. https://www.theguardian.com//honey-better-treatment-for-co... And if you want to supercharge your honey's healing power, make sure it's raw, local, and infuse it with healing herbs a la Mountain Rose: https://www.google.com//blog.mountain/herbal-infused-honey Medicine never tasted so good
