24.01.2022 H E L P N E E D E D Hey families, At tomorrow’s presentation day we have been rostered onto a half hour canteen shift from 3-3:30pm and require 2 helpers to staff the canteen. This is a must from our team.... Please let me know ASAP who will be able to take on this task. Helpers must be aged 14+ and wear enclosed shoes. Photos will also go out tomorrow. We unfortunately will not be in attendance as we are unwell, so I will not be able to distribute but you will still be able to get your photos either from Lee or another club official. As per SA Health Covid-19 restrictions announced at 315pm today Angle Vale Football Club will cease all activity until further notice. This includes any Pre-season training, group get togethers/activities and other type of contact between our members. We will keep you updated when these activities can resume. 22.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - PRESENTATION DINNER Hey parents. I have just been informed U8 Black Trophy presentation dinner will be held on TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER @ 7:00pm at the club rooms.... I know it’s very very short notice - as with everything this season but PAYMENT for meals will be required at training TOMORROW night - CASH ONLY. I have attached a copy of the order form - please take a look at what you want to order for your kids and/or family and bring the correct money to me tomorrow night. I will not have change. 22.01.2022 *** Coaches report vs Elizabeth ** Well done team on a great performance in todays game. You all certainly played for your fathers / father figures / guardians and all spectators today. Sticking to our key goals in "ball 1st/centre clearances - taking great leads - teamwork" We spread the ball nice and wide in kicked into the goal square everytime for our forwards to pounce. Loved the last goal for us, dom to bear to coco to goal. Lots of others but this stood out, all coming... from defence to centre to get to dom. Another tricky one for awards as all needed one each. Dominic for showing great teamwork looking for teamates and great chasing when he had the chances. Cooper and Luca again for being our key ball getters allowing us first opportunity. And to KALEB for the trophy. Worked super hard in the middle first half presenting forwards lots of goal opportunities. Xavier very unlucky to miss out awards with 4 great goals to his name in one qtr as well as Cooper Hill who is becoming quite the half back flanker. Too long of a post to mention others but they werent un noticed. One more game to go, let's finish on a high. See you Tuesday team, enjoy the sunshine and fathers day. Proud coach. 22.01.2022 ** PRE SEASON ** Hey all, I attended the AVFC committee meeting on Monday. Lots of new panel members. Clubs in good shape and excited to get the new season underway hopefully without too many strict coved measures. Anyway I can start pre season whenever I choose to, but can't be on-site at the club as cricket holds the oval, along with its not technically allowed (pre season) for our age group until early next year. (Heat policies, etc, Sanfl get funny)... The club is ok for me to conduct training if adhering to above rules, some other ages are also about to start. At this stage can I get some ideas on numbers as to who would be interested in starting say in a few weeks time? It wouldn't be compulsory or expected but feel it will be super beneficial for all we get a small headstart. Please drop some comments below or direct message me. Cheers Lee

20.01.2022 *** SAVE THE DATE - Sunday 18th Oct - FOOTBALL FAMILY CATCH UP*** Hi all, last post. Both myself and Constance have been wanting to do a Football family fun day for our team this year. A great opportunity for one big play date for the kids and allows us as parents to chill and relax.... So what we are thinking is to have a gathering on Sunday 18th Oct (first Sunday after school holidays) from 11am - 2pm at Carisbrooke Park. (Time and venue can be amended to suit everyone if needed but thinking this is best option with space and time) We are thinking that each player brings a food item, sweet or savoury, nothing huge (party pies, snags, muffins, lollies etc - We can better arrange this if goes ahead) Bring your own drinks. Ill bring my BBQ down for snags, burgers etc and have set of goals and balls to kick around. Plus we have the park. As said its a great opportunity for us all to chill have a drink, catch up and let the kids have fun for a few hours. Can we have an open forum on this one using the comments option below? Would love peoples thoughts and ideas on this... Will give more info Sunday and again on Tuesday. Can always reach out directly to myself or Constance if prefer. Cheers Lee

20.01.2022 ** Coaches Report vs Golden Grove ** Hi all, a poor day at the office in todays game. Defo off the boil. Very unlike us this season. As said to the players, top AFL teams can often have a bad game without warning and today was ours. Its now about putting it behind us and moving forward. Ground conditions and unfamiliar home oval set up prob bamboozled us a little. Credit to Golden Grove for doing everything we had been doing previously in kicking to leads and continual runnin...g. Winning ground contests. On a positive, the kids knew when quizzed where it went wrong, so have all confidence we bounce back next week with a decent training session this week. Credit also for still giving it a go last quarter ending strongly. Awards on Tuesday. Trophy had a little fall en route to game and had some minor repairs fixed. See u all Tuesday. Lee

19.01.2022 * Thank You * Hi All, apologies for my late post. Didnt get chance to sit down until late Sunday and then spent all day in bed yesterday unwell. All good now. A big thank you all for heading down on Sunday. Looks like the kids had a great time. The food was so much more than expected so again another big thank you all for chipping in. Hopefully most didnt go to waste and able to take home and knock off over the afternoon. I know I was full on Cheese, Snags, chips lollies the ...whole lot.... So again thank you. We will look to do another catch up either before or after Christmas. Watch this space. Cheers, Lee

18.01.2022 ** Umpire needed for our last HOME game this weekend ** Hi all, no SANFL umpires available this weekends home game. Any volunteers please? Let me know. (Fyi, this is same for other u8s team and u7s who will all be playing at 0830) Cheers Lee

18.01.2022 ** Coaches report vs Gepps X ** Hi all, we certainly bounced back from last weeks efforts and brought our great aggression to the field today. Sadly the very small oval and umpire didn't suit what we have been preaching all season and hurt us on a few occasions. Keep that agression up players, it puts us in a good start to next year. Lots of "don't argues" today, love it.... Just to put all at ease, the umpire we had today is an official sanfl registered aus kick coach and um...pire. Therefore deals only with ages u6s and u7s, (pretty much touch footy only in these grades) hence our aggression and the contested attempts didnt go our way. Please note the umpire mentioned to me on a few occasions he made some howlers and even called back a gepps x goal as was our free. He was very apologetic and said its his first at this grade level and a big difference especially the ground ball gets and what constitutes as a tackle/allowed in this grade. He was encouraging on field to all players, so need to give credit where credit is due, he owned up to it. Not many do.. Every player deserved a certificate today, all really switched on and played well. So many hands close to the trophy, but well done to Christian for winning it this week. Didnt need to touch it 40 times to win it, he battled hard when the ball was near and ran through kicking some great goals. Never stopped running in each qtr he played. 2 games to go Owls, let's finish strong. See u Tuesday for some more bash and crash hard training. I will be arranging a stratchy against other u8s team last 15-20 fyi. Enjoy what's left of the weekend

14.01.2022 O W L W H A T A N I G H T Parents, caregivers, players. My words tonight were simply not enough to express my gratitude to you all.... Thank you for making this year as smooth and seamless as it could be - given the circumstances. I am grateful to you all for actioning last minute things, dealing with last minute changes and all the help you have all offered the team and Lee and I at trainings and on game day. Without your support, we wouldn’t be the team we are today. Thank you all for the lovely gift. It will fit in beautifully in our home, as long as I don’t kill it! I hope the kids had a great time tonight and enjoyed their trophies and treats - boxes were from Lee and Amanda Bentley and personalised cookies made by yours truly. In case anyone is wondering - the fees for re-registration are separate to the $10 fee paid on presentation night. The re-registration fees go directly to the SANFL and not to the club. Thanks,... 12.01.2022 ** BEST AND FAIREST AWARD ** Hi all, thanks once again for a great evening Tuesday, starting with a fun training session, followed by a mighty good parents vs children game. The parents certainly weren't going easy on the kids hahaha. Thank you also for my gifts, it certanly was a lovely gesture along with all the great feedback and thanks for everything conversations on the night. Its been an awesome year and cannot wait to get them stuck into 2021 season. The game will be s...ignificantly different next year. Not touch footy anymore!! Regarding "Best and Fairest" - Just to answer a few queries received on this,,,, At this age we can't promote the best and fairest and any other singled out awards at this age level on OUR TEAM presentation night. (I was going to do a Most improved player of the year award as well as B&F) I know it was done a few seasons ago before the teams were split, but has since been removed at a Team level on preso night. Instead, AVFC have gone down the path of recognising the B&F at the club presentation day = 26 SEP but with a twist. The club runs the AVFC Team of the year where it is made up of each nominated B&F of each team from U7's through to Junior Colts. Last year this was won by Kaleb who was able to secure a spot on the AVFC team of the year 2018. Therefore we will be able to recognise our B&F on 26Sep. Good to be recognised amongst all ages on the day, but understand its nice to receive on OUR night also. I get it. Things may change in the future with this award and how it is delivered but for now, its conducted in the manner above. Hope that helps answer any questions/queries you may have. Cheers Lee

07.01.2022 ** Coaches Report VS Ingle Farm ** What a great finish to the year, we certainly went out with a bang. Our slow start had me worried a little, but as always we find that click and its game on. Good luck to other teams when we are on. Centre clearances today was the best I've seen. tap work from all players sensational with the crumbers always first to the ball. Leads and teamwork brilliant, played the wings nicely. Couldn't be prouder. Even saw some great handballs off to eac...h other allowing everyone a chance at goal. Well done Coco, u finally achieved ur goal of getting the trophy. Awesome kicking today as well as plucking every marking opportunity, with a fair few contested.... Christian, Xav and the ever reliable Cooper N bringing home the certs. In games like this, u all deserved a cert at the very least. Going to miss the weekend footy snd watching/helping this team grow. Amazing season. Wont miss the the 830 starts, they can stay away :) but know we have created one footy family so will no doubt see lots of you in the off season. 04.01.2022 ** TRAINING TUESDAY & PRESENTATION NIGHT 15/09 ** Hi all, my plan is still to conduct 1 LAST end of year training session after this weekends game. My intentions were to keep it very light hearted as a final farewell before we commence the off season. Last chance to be together as a team. Aware we have presentation after at 7pm. Was going to allow them to choose their drills, let them have the fun, ending with a scratch match, Parents vs Kids.... would love to see some of you... out there having fun. Aim to finish at 06:30 allowing us time to change into clothes (club room toilets and facilities will be available) for our start. If we can get in earlier great! This training is not compulsory so no stress at all if you head down for preso only. I know the kids just want to be kicking footie with their teamates so allowing them the option for one last hurrah. Over to you all on this one, decision is yours. Will discuss on Sunday. If its a sound no all round then will meet 06:45 for preso at 7pm.

04.01.2022 *** TRAINING CANCELLED *** Hi all, looking at all weather sites, its showing very high chances of showers from mid afternoon with potential thunderstorms commencing later tonight and throughout the rest of the week. Given we have photos, training in the rain is not ideal before the mug shots are taken. Lets play caution to the wind here and forgo training. As much as Id love to see a photo taken with them looking like they have just played a game in the mud, its sadly not wha...t the club are after :) Speaking with Constance, can we have everyone there at 6:20 pm so we can provide Guernseys and prep ourselves for photos. 03.01.2022 ** Umpire required this weekend ** Hi all, The club have asked me to scout a volunteer umpire for this weekends game at home vs Golden Grove. Tim who umpired our last one is AWAY and wont be there Sunday and Pasquale (Bear's older bro) is sadly to young even though he is happy to do.... Anyone keen to umpire, please let me know.
