11.01.2022 We see a lot of puppies and kittens at the clinic either with their breeders or with their new families so we thought it was an opportune time for us to remind you all that you need to worm your pups/dogs and kittens/cats at home too! Puppies/Dogs - Puppies need to be wormed with a good quality intestinal "All Wormer" at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12 weeks of age, then every month until 6 months of age and then every 3 months for the rest of their lives even if you are using a "sp...ot on treatment"! Did you know that none of the "spot on treatments" actually cover ALL intestinal worms? Kittens/Cats - Kittens need to be treated every 2 weeks from 3 weeks of age until 8 weeks, then monthly until they are 6 months of age and then adult cats should be treated every 1-3 months. Angle Park Veterinary Clinic recommend yearly faecal tests for ALL of your pets to ensure that your "worming" programme is effective. Breeders/Trainers should discuss implementing a "regular" faecal testing (worm egg count) with their Veterinary professional to ensure that their worming programme is effective! Contact the clinic on (08) 8243 7145 to discuss the best way that we can assist you with our "WAR ON WORMS"!

10.01.2022 Angle Park Veterinary Clinic would like to advise that we are currently having phone issues with only one line coming into the clinic. We hope to have this rectified this morning.

07.01.2022 Hopefully the following information will help dispel some of the old wives tails that are still bandied around when it comes to Canine Reproduction and when a bitch actually falls pregnant If you are planning on breeding your bitch and are going to be using either fresh chilled or frozen semen or alternatively you are planning on having an elective c-section, it is imperative that your Vet knows when your bitch ovulates. The team at Angle Park Veterinary Clinic recommend c...ommencing progesterone testing on day 5 and then again on day 7 to establish a baseline Once we’ve established the baseline, we can advise you when further progesterone tests are required. Please feel free to contact the friendly team at Angle Park Veterinary Clinic on 8243 7145 to discuss any of your reproductive needs and/or requirements

06.01.2022 June is all about our superstar Golden Oldies!!!! Book with us today to secure a spot for your golden oldie and receive a FREE Wellness Check for pets aged 7 plus when your pet is having comprehensive bloodwork! When your pet becomes a senior, they should visit the vet twice a year for a check-up. Our vets will perform a thorough physical examination and often do a blood and urine tests. They will discuss any changes, such as weight loss / gain, new lumps or bumps and ta...lk to you about how your pet has been at home. Important facts about senior testing An aging pet’s organs gradually deteriorate and may lose their ability to function properly. We use senior testing to promote early detection and treatment of disease, so we can maintain health and prevent illness during our pet’s senior years. Early detection of disease often gives us more effective and less costly treatment options. Senior testing helps establish normal baseline values for your pet, creating a point of comparison for the future. What pets should take part in senior testing? We recommend senior testing for all senior pets.

04.01.2022 Woohoo, Angle Park Veterinary Clinic are celebrating another successful frozen TCI (Trans Cervical Insemination) mating Some of you might not know this but competitive sleddog racing has seen a steady increase in popularity over the last few years, Zahra Goldsmith, Goldrush Sleddogs first contacted Angle Park Veterinary Clinic in January of this year to discuss breeding options for her German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) bitch "Pepper". Zahra and her husband were planning on ...importing frozen semen from the Czech Republic from a Eurohound called "Cafu". Dr. Moore and Zahra discussed the breeding options available and it was decided that TCI (Trans Cervical Insemination) being a "non-invasive" procedure, was definitely the way to go. Pepper was successfully inseminated on the 18th May, 2020 and her ultrasound on the 24th June, 2020 confirmed that she was definitely in whelp, much to Zahra's delight The team at Angle Park Veterinary Clinic are all looking forward to Zahra sharing some puppy photo's when Pepper has her babies Goldrush Sleddogs have kindly provided some information regarding the Eurohound and sleddog racing along with some photo's of the stud dog "Cafu" and their gorgeous girl "Pepper" Zahra is more than happy to answer any questions that you may have in relation to competitive sleddog racing or the Eurohound breed
