22.01.2022 The miracle of joy is this: It happens when there is no apparent reason for it. Circumstances may call for despair. Yet something different rouses itself inside us...We are able to remember what the sunrise looks like...We remember God. We remember He is love. We remember He is near. (Ruth Senter)

20.01.2022 "We Christians are people of the table... What we do there gets to the heart of our beliefs. There are few of us who front up to this table without at least a modicum of spiritual expectation. We come, after all, to receive forgiveness, to remember the cost of grace borne by God, to express our community as the body of Christ, and to hear again the call of Jesus, 'Follow me!'... Yet what expectation of God do we bring to the other tables of our lives? Once the church service is done and the holy bread devoured, what sense of Christ do we expect to know at the lunch table as we eat our chicken sandwiches?" - Simon Carey Holt, HEAVEN ALL AROUND US

20.01.2022 What have you been reading lately? Did you know that the parish has a lending library? It is located in the Parish Meeting Room and is open for borrowing during office hours (9am-3pm Tues-Fri). Why not broaden your horizons and borrow a book to read?

17.01.2022 For those who might be wondering, we are registered as COVID safe :-)

15.01.2022 While today is RUOK day, it is important for us to look out for each other, both in the church and outside of it, every day.

10.01.2022 "The fire has its flame and praises God. The wind blows the flame and praises God. In the voice we hear the word which praises God. And the word, when heard, praises God. So all of creation is a song of praise to God." ... Hildegard of Bingen, whom we celebrate today See more

10.01.2022 Most High, all powerful, good Lord, Yours are the praises, the glory, the honour, and all blessing. To You alone, Most High, do they belong, and no man is worthy to mention Your name. Be praised, my Lord, through all your creatures,... especially through my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day; and you give light through him. And he is beautiful and radiant in all his splendour! Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness. Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars, in heaven you formed them clear and precious and beautiful. Praised be You, my Lord, through Brother Wind, and through the air, cloudy and serene, and every kind of weather through which You give sustenance to Your creatures. Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Water, which is very useful and humble and precious and chaste. Praised be You, my Lord, through Brother Fire, through whom you light the night and he is beautiful and playful and robust and strong. Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Mother Earth, who sustains us and governs us and who produces varied fruits with coloured flowers and herbs. Praised be You, my Lord, through those who give pardon for Your love, and bear infirmity and tribulation. Blessed are those who endure in peace for by You, Most High, they shall be crowned. Praised be You, my Lord, through our Sister Bodily Death, from whom no living man can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin. Blessed are those who will find Your most holy will, for the second death shall do them no harm. Praise and bless my Lord, and give Him thanks and serve Him with great humility. 03.01.2022 God is not just the icing on the cake of life. He does not just exist to bless your priorities and ambitions and to make them possible. He is the icing and the cake, our only source of life and joy.

02.01.2022 I don’t know who needs this, but if you woke up freaking out a little because it’s almost Christmas (like...what? How is that even possible? It was just August ...two days ago), remember that the first Christmas was pretty simple. It’s okay if yours is too. No tree. Five trees. No elf. Elf every single night. No lights. A yard full of ‘em. No decorations. So many decorations it looks like HomeGoods threw up in your living room. No parties. A calendar filled. None of that stuff matters, and none of it is worth stressing or obsessing over. Jesus. Jesus matters. Everything else is extra, and I can almost guarantee nobody will notice and nobody will care if it doesn’t get done. Christ is perfect. Your Christmas doesn’t have to be. Now deep breaths. It’s gonna be a great season as long as He is in it, and as long as you relax just a little.
