01.01.2022 The Anglican Church’s highest legal authority, the Appellate Tribunal, has released two opinions on church legislation proposed by the Diocese of Wangaratta and the Diocese of Newcastle related to the blessing of same-sex marriages. In a 5-1 decision the court has decided that in its opinion a service of blessing for civil marriages authorised by the Synod of the Diocese of Wangaratta last year is valid.
