22.01.2022 When Connie*, an AV Foster Carer was stuck in her house during the bushfire emergency in North-East Victoria at the start of the year, our staff supported closely with phone calls every hour to check on her and the children she cared for. When the fires cleared, staff arranged delivery of supplies. Connie was exhausted but grateful. And the care didn’t stop there: during the hard times of the pandemic, staff delivered pizza, games and puzzles to the house to keep the spirits high and the children busy. 21.01.2022 What’s a pandemic? Does this mean we don’t have to go to school? In our 31 Resi care homes, our incredible staff were challenged, but not fazed, by the need to maintain a loving home for the children and young people who live there. They stepped up, helped with schooling, and adapted quickly to new practices such as wearing PPE and new cleaning regimes.... Read our annual report story about how they navigated through these challenging times:

14.01.2022 #CARERFAQS It is generally preferred that children are placed close to their current school, so they can continue with their enrolment. In most cases, the carer will transport the child to and from school. However, there is some flexibility and it depends on the needs of the child. Are you considering fostering a vulnerable child in your area? Visit anglicarevic.org.au/foster-caring to learn more... #fostercare #lovinghomes #family #fosteringconnections #anglicarevic

Volunteers help with child minding, transport to various school or extracurricular activities, tutoring, and mentoring. It's perfect for those who want a flexible and varied volunteering arrangement! It’s been really rewarding to see the growth in the children I support. Because I’m not there all the time, small changes are quite noticeable. 02.01.2022 Throughout the pandemic, AV's emergency relief centres were a godsend for locals who found themselves suddenly unemployed, or ineligible for welfare, international students stranded without income, those unexpectedly on the verge of homelessness and families that had never faced struggles like this before. When Theresa*, a mother of two, arrived at our emergency relief centre, she asked for some groceries to support her family. What she didn’t expect to find was financial support, referrals to mental health support, and the comfort of knowing that she is not alone.
