22.01.2022 For the information of the boating community

22.01.2022 Well, that didn’t go to plan. Race 1 Jason in the 25hp boat started out of pole 3, all went well at the drop of the flag and managed to pull a few boat lengths down the front straight, that’s when it all turned pear shaped, hit something on the right rear corner that picked the back of the boat up and sent him side ways, managed to regroup and finished the race in 3rd. Back at the ramp we found that what ever he hit put a hole in the bottom of the boat and the flex from the... spin split the deck, gotta say I’m not real happy, but I guess, that’s racing. Josh managed a 2nd from pole 4 and drove well in the breezy conditions with the wind coming straight down the back straight. All in all Josh ended up with 2 x 2nds, a third and a First. A huge thank you to Anglomoil Superior Lubricants, Kim Haulage, Extreme Marine, No Deposit First Homes and Full Contact Tiling. See more

18.01.2022 We regret to inform our members, Volunteers, Sponsors and guests that our next scheduled event being Sunday 26th July 2020 has been cancelled. The committee has... made this difficult decision to cancel because the Insurance Underwriter "Lloyds of London" have confirmed that at present, they will not be reissuing any Third-Party Insurance Policy’s for Powerboat Racing at this time due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic. We understand that this decision may cause great inconvenience for you, your team and families and we are sincerely sorry. The committee has all been working tirelessly to provide a positive outcome, although time has been against us and we would not have been able to resubmit new applications to Maritime Safety and Bundaberg Council with adequate notice before the proposed event date. The club is working with our brokers and other Powerboat Clubs across Australia to remedy the situation as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Unfortunately, Bundaberg Powerboat Club was the first Club up for renewal this year and therefore the first to be affected. I would like to thank David Toyer President, APBA National, Rhoda Wojcikewycz, from Mid North Coast Speedboat Club, and Brad Neilson, from Mackay Powerboat Club for their advice and support and we all hope this can be rectified in the very near future. With the help and support of the Australian Powerboat Racing Community, Powerboat Racing across Australia will continue.!!!!!!! See more

The Morrison Government also wants to extend the grants to people who may have owned property before considering a new build. CALL TODAY to apply for a Pre Approval!! 1300 801 055.

07.01.2022 2013 SYDNEY BRIDGE TO BRIDGE POWERBOAT CLASSIC. For those that are interested!!!!!! This is the last minutes before my accident in the 2013 Sydney Bridge to Bri...dge Powerboat Classic. www.uhpbc.net 110kms sprint. Boat against the clock. DAC - S3000 Merc. To this day I still hold the Outboard record at 31m.38sec for the distance that I set in 2007, average of 217 kph. Then again in 2010 at 34m.03sec. Still the 3rd Fastest boat up the river!!! and the Fastest Outboard! Maritimo, the unlimited Offshore boat had already left. However at the half way point I was just 20 seconds behind their time. I was also a few minutes in front of the next competitor, The Pheonix, a Hydro. I think we needed a faster Chopper!!! lol. However, as a good friend told me, "To Finish First, First you must Finish". I really tried but could not keep the boat on the water. At 136 mph and coming around the corner, I hit a cross wind and it was all over, flipped twice, and did a 720, and landed back the right way. just over half way opposite Torrens Ski Park. "MY FAULT", driver error. The boat did everything I told it to do! Thank you to all concerned who came to my Rescue. I ended up just bruised and sore. The cell did its job and the race committee from the UHPBC did the rest! Thankyou to my partner Trevor Hodder, the diver, Scott McEnnally on board the chopper, Cathy and Nicole Avagliano for taking care of me once I reached the bank and all the support boats etc. This has never been posted before. I hope you appreciate what you see! As long as there is this type of challenge, somebody will be at the ready to take it on!!!!! Its a mental and physical challenge!!! I loved this race!! What a BUZZ!! See more

01.01.2022 After practice on Friday we damaged 2 pistons. Thanks to Katrina and Brett Atkinson (Team Bar) they picked up pistons from the workshop on the Gold Coast and Jason Chiswell (Extreme Marine) changed the damage parts and we were ready to go again for Sunday. Race 1, Pole 1 and we took the win but damaged No 5 again as we went over the finish line. A great race with Kay Marshall until she collided with a mono on a corner. Thanks to Team Bar (Brett Acko) and Chris Bowden for als...o completing. Thanks to my team, Trevor Hodder and Jason Chiswell. A big thank you to all our sponsors! 01.01.2022 When the Corona Virus finally exhausts itself and the danger is over, let's do something good for our country, Let's spend our holidays in Australia, eat in local restaurants, buy Australian products, buy local meats and veggies and support local businesses and support our Farmers. These businesses are going to find it very difficult to get back on their feet and survive without our help. They're suffering badly now. Our products are some of the best in the world. Our country is one of the most beautiful. Let’s look after it and its loyal people, not because of Bushfires, not because of floods, not because of viruses, but because we are Australian Copy and paste if you agree

01.01.2022 Another great weekend at Bundaberg for our first race meet for the year. 38 boats were in attendance for our Club Day. This is now our largest club day with mor...e boats attending for our May round. We arrived this time with 3 boats. Joshua Chiswell in his Junior boat, Jason Chiswell (Josh’s dad) in his new 25hp boat and the F1. The weather was sunny but with some strong wind gusts but still a fun drive. Joshua ended up with 4th, Jason with a very happy 3rd and I could only get a third for the weekend. A throttle cable in race one and a flat battery in race 2 stopped the F1 from running, but race 3 saw a great race between Kay Marshall and myself. Tried as a did, I couldn’t get around her and came home second with some pretty wet race gear from trying. Well done to Kay, she drove her heart out. Also great to see Brett Acko in the seat in his F2 and Michaela in Miss Conduct with a big smile for Team Bar. Thanks to our sponsors, Anglomoil Superior Lubricants, KIM Haulage, No Deposit First Homes, Full Contact Tiling and of course Jason Chiswell from Extreme Marine for his continual efforts in making this Evinrude engine sing. Also thanks to Mezz, Meredith Chiswell (mum) for keep us all together and Trev for looking after me!! xx After turning 10 laps on Friday, 12 on Saturday in practice and racing on Sunday, we had no mechanical issues and she is safety packed away in the Transporter until we test again to find some more HP.
