21.01.2022 Lockdown/Skill-Up is a new initiative that Training Services NSW have co-ordinated, providing a suite of courses tailored to high-demand professions that people can undertake from the comfort of their own home. AKI NSW have been liaising with Training Services NSW and are delighted to offer two courses for potential students affected by lockdown. These are the Statement of Attainment in Emotional Intelligence for Supervisors, and the Key Management Skill Set, courses perfect ...for people wanting to develop their own emotional intelligence or those newly promoted to the position of supervisor or team leader. Even better news is that the deadline for enrolments has now been extended to end of September, with course completion required end of October. 17.01.2022 One of the key reasons that people start a course with us is to get that new job they want. Its by no means guaranteed, but there's some good news being presented at today's 2021 Skills Conference - Apprenticeship Employment Network NSW & ACT. Ashley Fell, Director of Advisory at McCrindle Research "VET graduates have a higher employment rate than undergraduates. More than 78% of graduates are employed after training". Visit www.angusknightinstitute.com.au to see where you... could take your career. #employment #apprenticeships #rtos #angusknightinstitute

15.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! A good news story to start the weekend featuring our trainer Chris Bristow (pictured) who always goes above and beyond to help his students in the workforce. Mostafa was doing his Certificate III in Individual Support, but was having difficulty finding a Vocational Placement in Melbourne due to Covid 19. Christopher encouraged him to apply for a paid work position, and then talk to his employer about doing his placement as a paid employee. He had no pr...ior work history as a support worker but used trainer Christopher as a referee and has now been offered a full-time contract with an Aged Care Facility. Julio was doing the same course, and whilst doing his 120-hour vocational placement at the Bayside Lodge Nursing Facility as part of his placement, he was offered a work contract and now works full time as a support worker! Neither of them had worked in the Disability/ Aged Care sector prior to commencing their Certificate III in Individual Support, and used Christopher as a work referee to obtain employment. Many of our student get offers for employment during their Vocational Placement said Christopher. ‘The most important qualities that an employer in the Disability / Aged Care sector is looking for in a potential new employee is, kindness, patients, trustworthiness, and empathy towards clients and the willingness to complete their Certificate III in Individual Support. The fact these students all found work is testament to their effort and commitment’. A big congratulations to both students and trainer Christopher. Since the beginning of April seven Angus Knight Institute students have been offered paid work contracts in the Disability and Aged Care sector alone.

11.01.2022 Exciting news we’re delighted to inform that as of yesterday, Angus Knight Institute acquired VFA Learning, one of Victoria's leading nationally accredited training organisations, specialising in Fitness, Sports Development, Massage, Nursing and Health and Children's Services courses. The addition of VFA Learning to the family of AKI registered training organisations sees us move into the Victorian market. VFA will continue to operate from its existing locations, providing ...the same quality trainers in the same locations in Geelong, Narre Warren, Melbourne CBD as well as online. VFA have long been recognised for delivering high quality education in exciting and rapidly growing industries. This union allows us to deliver the skills people need for the jobs they want, in sectors and locations we were not active in previously said Angus Knight Institute CEO, John Liddicoat. ‘This acquisition will serve to further strengthen VFA Learning’ said Founding Director of VFA Learning, Justin healy. ‘AKI’s broad range of services from Jobactive to community development programs allows for growth in the business, while their size and footprint along the East Coast will create many exciting opportunities’.

05.01.2022 Last week Angus Knight Institute and Jobfind Centres Australia attended the Brimbank Careers Exploration Fair hosted by Future Connect. Christos (AKI RTO Trainer), Raf (Youth Engagement Coach) and Deepa (DES & NDIS Manager VIC) joined the fifty exhibitors who interacted with the 1,000 Brimbank Secondary School students that attended. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID, "I am so pleased with the turnout and so happy to know that every young person in Brimbank today ...knows more about who we are and what we do" said Raf. Whilst chatting to students about the courses available to them, it was also an opportunity to listen to their needs and aspirations, to understand future potential course offerings that AKI could deliver to assist them. #Angusknightinstitute #Jobfind #JobfindCentres #UnleashPotential #Community #Employment #Education
