16.01.2022 TECH NECK! I would etsimate that approx 70% of my clients present to me on a weekly basis with symptoms of Tech neck. Technology plays an integral role within all of our lives and as such the upper back and neck suffers. Tilting the head forward for a lengthy period places strain on the cervical spine and soft tissue supporting the neck and shoulders. Over time, symptoms such as stiffness, reduced mobility and pain collaborate to create this condition. Remedial soft tissue therapy can treat, release and reset the upper back soft tissues and bring those muscles, tendons and ligaments back into harmony again...

16.01.2022 I am very pleased to inform you all that the government ban has been removed for professional and medical, soft tissue therapy services. I am therefore legally permitted to practice again as of Wed April 6th, 2020. Please feel free to contact me for future appointment bookings...

11.01.2022 'Knee pain' can have different causes. Being overweight puts you at greater risk for knee problems. Overusing your knee can trigger knee problems that cause pain. If you have a history of arthritis, it could also cause knee pain. Injuries and overuse can cause the following conditions... *Bursitis. Inflammation from repeated pressure on the knee, such as kneeling for a long time, overuse, or injury.... *Dislocation of the kneecap. *Fracture of the kneecap or other bones.Iliotibial band syndrome. *Injury to the thick band that runs from your hip to the outside of your knee. *Pain in the front of your knee around the kneecap. *Torn ligament. An anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, or medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury may cause bleeding into your knee, swelling, or an unstable knee. *Torn cartilage (a meniscus tear). Pain felt on the inside or outside of the knee joint. *Strain or sprain. Minor injuries to the ligaments caused by sudden or unnatural twisting.

09.01.2022 Our hip flexors are the bodies movement engines. They control balance, ability to sit, stand, twist, reach bend, step and walk. Every movement goes through the hips. When the hip flexors are tight, it can lead to a host of Muscular Skeletal problems. Hip flexor treatments can release the tension and ease painful symptoms...

09.01.2022 Please be advised that mask wearing and temperature checks are an essential requirement prior to attending Anika’s Remedial Massage Therapy. You are asked to wear a mask to your appointment and may remove your mask during your remedial treatment whilst you are face down. These requests are to keep us all safe and for me to practice within professional and clinical guidelines. Thank you

07.01.2022 Symptoms typically appear in early adulthood and include reduced flexibility in the spine. This reduced flexibility eventually results in a hunched-forward posture. Pain in the back and joints is also common. Remedial soft tissue therapy is an excellent treatment modality to alleviate painful symptoms of AS.

05.01.2022 A friendly reminder to all existing and new remedial patients. Please be mindful to cancel your remedial appointment if you are unwell. This is to ensure that 'any' virus, not just the coronavirus isn't transmitted unnecessarily. Thank you for your cooperation.... Kind regards, Anika. Anika's Remedial Massage Therapy.

02.01.2022 *CORONAVIRUS UPDATE * To all of my valued clients, Unfortunately to keep within the law and to responsibly avoid cross contamination risk, I have closed my practice temporarily at this time.... I will be keeping a close eye on the daily news and will reopen when the government makes that informed decision for my profession. My sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that my closure will cause you. I will post a message on my website and Facebook pages when my practice will be reopening. Warmest regards, Anika..

01.01.2022 I am frequently asked which is the best 'GLUTE/PIRIFORMIS' stretch to do at home in between remedial treatments. There is truly only one that stands alone in my professional opinion. Laying on your back with one leg across the body, then cup both of the hands around the opposite upper leg. Gently pull the upper leg forward with your cupped hands until you feel the 'end feel'. This is the point at which there is discomfort. Hold here for 40 seconds until the Piriformis or glute muscle releases. If you do this stretch at least 'once' per day, right glutes will be kept to a minimum.

01.01.2022 ** COVID 19 UPDATE ** Due to this morning's easing of restrictions announcement, a GP referral will not be requested to attend a remedial therapy appointment as of Monday Oct 19th. Allied health appointments have returned to standard booking protocol...
