21.01.2022 FREEZER UPDATE 3/2/21: Thank you Patrick for checking our freezer so early in the morning in your own time. Patrick was able to get it working, and even checked the smaller freezer while he was there. However it is likely only a temporary fix, so he makes no guarantees on how long it’ll continue working. So if anyone has a chest freezer (Approx. 300 litres) looking for a new home, that is reliable, it would be good to have a backup ready. URGENT - FREEZER NEEDED... "It's dead, Jim ..." Our box freezer where we store the dog food has died. If anyone can help with repairs or replacement with a similar sized freezer, please phone the ARRG Office (02) 6622 1881 (M-F 9-3) to discuss. Or email: [email protected] DESPERATELY NEEDED! PLEASE SHARE!

21.01.2022 PUPPY FOOD - URGENTLY NEEDED! Announcing the arrival of the GUMNUT PUPPIES: CuddlePot, SnugglePie, Little Obelia, Nuttybub, Chucklebud, Wunkydoo, Nittersing & Dandelion. They are 8 weeks of age, and arrived with a full burden of worms. They have now been wormed and flead, and next step is to vaccinate and microchip them! The last thing we want is Parvovirus - though so far these guys look healthy. ... We believe they are Kelpie-x’s. We desperately need PUPPY FOOD to feed these 8 hungry mouths. You can drop off at the ARRG Office: https://www.animalrights.org.au/contact.php (M-F 9-3) They CANNOT be adopted until they are microchipped, however we will accept pre-adoption applications. Send an email to: [email protected] with the SUBJECT Gumnut Puppies Look at the Comments later today for individual photos with their names. Normal ARRG policy applies for adoptions, so be sure to only send ONE EMAIL with the required ATTACHMENTS and why you would make best guardian. Be sure to read this before applying: https://www.facebook.com/109591692443650/posts/3517733341629451/?d=n Failure to provide all required information may mean you miss out if these puppies prove popular and we receive a lot of applications. In the meantime, please SHARE!

20.01.2022 LILLY & TULIP Lilly & Tulip are pretty sisters who were surrendered to ARRG yesterday, 12/11/2020. They will be on the website next week once they have their vet work.... They are initially shy, but are quickly gaining confidence. As usual, anyone interested in adopting BOTH girls together will be given preference. So if you would like to pre-apply to put your name up for consideration as a potential adopter for BOTH girls together, send ARRG an email ([email protected] - use SUBJECT: LILLY & TULIP) with your proof of home ownership attached, (refer to other recent posts for more adoption policy details) and tell us why you would make the best guardian for these sisters. (Refer to More Info under any of our cat website listings to see what we are looking for). https://www.animalrights.org.au/cats.php Adoption Policy: https://www.animalrights.org.au/adoptions.php Previous posts with useful information: https://www.facebook.com/109591692443650/posts/3464484196954366/?d=n Applications for adopting just a SINGLE girl won’t be processed until AFTER they appear on the website and they are OFFICIALLY available for adoption, which isn’t until they are microchipped.

20.01.2022 HOOLIO #2540 ADOPTED 18/11/2020 Hoolio was a shy kitten who spent a lot of time hiding. We did not expect a quick adoption for her because of this. Then along came the Howard family and we had what we hope is a perfect match! After her initial fear response to their arrival, a bit of bribery with roast chicken and ‘roo mince quickly won her over. She even allowed them to nurse her in a cuddle, something she rarely did for her foster carer.... Hoolio did have some competition from the vivacious Grover #2555 but the executive decision was made that only one kitten was going home with them. Thank you Laura for giving Hoolio a chance. She is sure to quickly become your best mate! Happy life, Hoolio!

08.01.2022 NEWBORN KITTENS DELIVERY - 12/11/2020 Three newborn kittens (1M 2F) only 1-2 days old, (possibly born yesterday 11/11/2020 - Remembrance Day) still wearing dried umbilical cords, were delivered to the ARRG Office today. They were found in an abandoned house at Gundurimba with mum nowhere to be seen. At the moment they have about a 50% chance of survival. If we can find a lactating mum to take them, those odds would increase to about 90%. ... The white & grey boy weighs 135 grams. The white & grey and the tortoiseshell/calico girls weigh 95-100 grams. So at least they were born healthy. Does anyone know of a lactating mum cat whose kittens are less than a week old? In the meantime, when they arrived, they were quite cold and dehydrated. Hence the photos of kittens down our tops! They are now on a heat pad and are regaining their temperature. They have also been offered some Wombaroo kitten milk to help ease their dehydration. They’ve also been successfully toiletted Now for some late night feedings ... If anyone wants to donate to help with the ongoing care of these Remembrance Kittens ... https://www.animalrights.org.au/donations_quick.php Updates will follow in the Comments.

Phil was generous enough to come out free of charge to help us out. If you are looking for a local business to service your pool, Phil is your pool guy. ... If you'd like to donate to ARRG to buy a new pool pump, the doggies will be ever so appreciative.
