25.01.2022 Temperatures are set to rise tomorrow folks. Please make sure all your animals have shade during the entire day and that water bowls are filled and there is a backup in case one gets knocked over. And remember. On a hot day just leaving your dog in the car for 5 minutes while you nick into the shops, even with windows down, can be deadly.

25.01.2022 If you needed a little bit of a nudge to get you to desex your cat the news story below might just be what you needed. To help people avoid fines like this we are offering $50 desexing for Shoalhaven residents with a health care card or pension card who may be struggling with the cost. Please call our subsidised desexing Officer on 0403071497 for more information.

23.01.2022 We have some very ferocious new additions. . Meet Cupcake and Sprinkles. These two little kittens seem to have lost their mum as they were found about 50m from each other, one on a driveway and one on top of a wire fence and nowhere near any hidey spots. So looks like they’d been searching for mum and food. They are a little bit of a mystery as size wise at just 317g and 360g they should only be about 3 weeks old and too young to be worried by someone patting them. But, they have all their teeth, so despite being so teeny tiny that means they are at least 6 weeks old. We will keep you posted on their progress in the hissing and growling department

18.01.2022 Looking for something fun to do this Saturday? Why not pop out to Petstock at South Nowra (opposite Bunnings) where they are holding an Adoption Day! Come along and meet some of our volunteers and find out more about adopting a new family member or even about becoming a foster carer. We will be there from 9am-1pm to answer all your questions. 07.01.2022 Update - Sadly little Butters is not responding to treatment and is in a lot of pain and so after consultation with our vets the difficult decision has been made that the kindest thing is to let her go peacefully. Thank you all for thinking of her and to our vets and vet nurses for caring for her. Lots of prayers for little Butters. She’s been rushed to the emergency vet tonight with complications from her bowel surgery. She is such a little fighter keep everything crossed... she manages to fight through this. 02.01.2022 It was fantastic to see so many owners take advantage of our $50 cat desexing during October and so we have decided to extend our offer. If you need assistance with the cost to desex your animal and have a pension or health care card and live in the Shoalhaven please contact us to find out more Kittens can be desexed once they reach 12 weeks of age. At this age they are a good size and they are still a few weeks away from the age they can start going on heat or for males, w...andering and spraying. Behaviours it’s best to stop before they start. The Shoalhaven Animal Shelter is helping us out by scanning microchips for us or if not chipped they can assist with this at the same time. Just take your cat or kitten out to the Shoalhaven Animal Shelter off BTU Road at South Nowra along with your health care card. They are open Mon-Sunday from 10am-4pm. Appointments required ph 44293410 to book. They will then forward your details to us and our desexing officer will give you a call to issue the voucher and book the procedure with one of our participating vets. A big thank you to Nowra Vet, North Nowra Vet, Jervis Bay Vet, Berry Vets and All Creatures Vet Shoalhaven Heads and Ulladulla Vet for their support of our desexing program. The $50 voucher amount is payable to the vet on day of procedure.
