01.01.2022 Cat spraying (or urine marking) is a normal cat behaviour. Scent plays a really important role in cat communication, which is why they rub their scent glands, located on their face, paws and flanks over objects to ‘mark’ them as owned. Sometimes cats will mark with their urine too, by backing up against an object and spraying urine over it. While unpleasant for us, the good news is cats can be trained not to perform this behaviour inside.
