18.01.2022 When we feel pressure to be perfect all the time, to cope, to be strong and to be normal, we sometimes forget that this is a standard we hold of ourselves that we would NEVER expect from others. That for others we would expect them to grieve, expect them to stress and expect them to be frustrated and upset when injustice occurs or sometime unexpected surprises them. We need to remind ourselves it is ok to feel, it is ok to react to our external environment and it is ok to ask for help. In fact - this is the MORE "normal" way of dealing with things and is often more HELPFUL!

10.01.2022 BEST MATES IN TOUGH TIMES On the farm, your dog is probably your best worker, your best mate and they might just be your best listener too. A new social media c...ampaign - called Thank You Dogs - has set out to thank our four-legged mates for helping owners cope with mental illness in rural and regional Australia. Rural wedding photographer, Edwina Robertson, is the content creator for the project and said it's all about helping people open up a little more. "It's not a page or a resource for people who are experiencing mental illness, it's more about people who have gone through depression or anxiety or anything else that is related to mental illness, it's about them sharing their struggles and through that, how their four-legged friend helped them get through those tough times," she said. "Mental illness, there's a huge stigma about it in the bush, it's still very difficult for people to talk about and what we're aiming to do is to get this really heavy topic and heavy subject spoken about more freely by using the dogs as a vehicle to get people to share their stories.
