24.01.2022 During my quiet time in the past few weeks I have been relaxing and crocheting a lap rug out of scraps of yarn. I found it to be both relaxing and therapeutic. This is the result and of course I had the "Quality Control" people onboard as well.

24.01.2022 After coming home from Warrnambool I have been keeping safe, in isolation and busy making more hats. The first one I posted has been sold and the new hats will be on my Etsy shop very soon. Each hat comes with a matching and co-ordinated narrow scarf. $35 each. Perfect for chemotherapy patients who have lost their hair and need to keep warm and look good too.

21.01.2022 2 new hats for the collection. I'm trying to use the little flowers to hold the scarf in place and the flowers are also brooches and can be put wherever you like or not used at all. Your choice.

20.01.2022 Good afternoon on a grey raining day. I have been working on a new website to make ordering and buying from Animalhouse Handmade easier. It's not quite ready yet but with a few more tweaks it should be up an running in the next few days.

17.01.2022 While there have been no markets to attend I have been staying put and am making a quilt out of plenty of scrap fabrics that I have stashed in my cupboard. It's a bit of a change from making more hand towels and hats, although I am still making hats but that is my nightly relaxation time. Here is the quilt so far. (So much cutting and piecing is going into this one)

17.01.2022 As much as I love making hats and blankets, I thought I would give toy making a try. These are my first two.

16.01.2022 The double oven mitt is off to its new home in the USA. I think someone likes soccer, and wants their hands protected while using hot utensils. Items posted to the USA usually take about a month to get there, which I think is reasonable during these difficult times. Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks for things to arrive in Australia when sent from Australia. Hopefully things will improve.

15.01.2022 This one I made for meeeee.......the one way fabric had to be cut so that both the back and front faced the right way when put together. Sounds simple enough.......................but no, I managed to sew the the two pieces together upside down. Somehow I didn't notice until almost finished. Groan..................I had to undo all of it and put it back together the right way around. This one is definitely mine.

13.01.2022 The quilt I have been making has grown somewhat. I have also been putting my crocheting skills to work on a blanket to use up some of my scrap yarn. Since we are not sure when or if the markets will be back again at the end of the year my left overs and scraps are being put to good use. Oh yes, I have also started making sourdough bread. The things we do when confined to our homes.

12.01.2022 For those who know me, you already know that I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year. I went through 6 months of chemo and now I am going through radiation treatment but I have had to go interstate for my treatment. I am staying in accommodation that consists of my single room with bathroom, a shared kitchen and laundry. No place to sew but I can knit and crochet. I'm going a bit stir crazy, but at least I can go for a walk each day provided it isn't raining. So while I have been here I have crochet a few hats with chemo patients in mind. Here is one of them. It's not a great photo but I don't have as much to work with here. Cheers everyone and stay safe. I hope you are not going too stir crazy with this time of isolation. It will be over eventually.

12.01.2022 I can safely say I am hooked on corner 2 corner crochet blankets.

07.01.2022 A great idea for Christmas wrapping which is both eco friendly and reusable. (Also washable). No more wasted wrapping paper and no more clean up. Drawstring cotton fully lined gift bags. After Christmas they can be used as book bags. The bag in the picture measures 50cm x 40cm approximately. Cost for this size $30 Cost for 70cm x 50cm is $35 They can also be personalised with one name for an extra $5

06.01.2022 Today I indulged myself and finally finished quilting this this little gem. It was part of Adelaide Sewing Centre's HQ groups challenge for 2018. Took a while but I finally got there. All it needs now is the binding. Maybe next year........................

05.01.2022 Today was a good day and I felt motivated enough to make a duffel backpack. Great pattern and not a bad size either. It can be sized for a child or adult. It felt good to be sewing again.

03.01.2022 I never thought I would be making tea cosies, used to think of them as Old fashioned but here I am having fun. Here is the Fairy House tea cosy.

02.01.2022 While on the theme of hats. Here are a couple of little girls hats I just completed. $30 each for the child size hats
