24.01.2022 Western Australia is blessed to have several species of Terns. This one is a Caspian Tern, easily distinguished by the red beak. Caspian Terns (Hydroprogne caspia) are also the largest Tern species. They are remarkable in flight with their substantial wing span in relation to their body size.

24.01.2022 Came across this beautiful red-capped parrot using the fence in order to reach the tops of the seeding grasses, they aren't stupid! #birdoftheday #best_birds_planet #birdsofaustralia #bird_brilliance #eye_spy_birds #featherperfection #birds_adored #feather_perfection #nuts_about_birds #redcappedparrot #parrot #feather #wildlife #wildlife_photography #wildlife_perfection #wildlifephoto #wildlife_perfection#wildlife_photographer#wildlife_photographers #wildlifephoto #nature #naturelover #animalphoto #animalphotographer #animalphotography #animalphotos #animallover #animalinfo #animalinfopublications

23.01.2022 Given that they are territorial and hate all other blue things, I have often marveled at shots of multiple Splendid Wrens. Now I know how it's done... mirrors! Just joking but this little fellow was hell bent on killing those dam blue birds in my car. #birdsofinstagram #birdphotography #birdoftheday#bird_brilliance #featherperfection#feather_perfection #fairywrens #fairywren #wrens #wildanimalinfo #splendidfairywren wren #wildlife#wildlife_photography #wildlife_perfection#wildlifephoto #wildlife_perfection #wildlife_photographers #birdsofaustralia #animalinfo#animalinfopublications #eye_spy_birds #birds_adored #women_wildlife_photography #animalphoto #animalphotographer #animalphotography #animalphotos #best_birds_planet #birdcaptures

23.01.2022 Another shot of one of my favourite birds to photograph. This behaviour is part of their feeding habits where they toss small shrimp and catch them. Too hard to see but the droplet furthest into its throat is in fact a small crustacean. #birdsofinstagram #birdphotography #birdoftheday#bird_brilliance #featherperfection#feather_perfection #waterbird #spoonbill #birdsofaustralia #yellowspoonbill #wildlife#wildlife_photography #wildlife_perfection #wildlifephoto #wildlife_perfection #wildlife_photographer#wildlife_photographers #wildlifephoto #nature #naturelover #animalinfo#animalinfopublications#best_birds_planet #backlight #birds_adored #animalphotographer #animalphotography #animalphotos #animallover #birdcaptures #women_wildlife_photography

19.01.2022 Plumage is extremely important to birds. It provides protection and insulation and also helps to attract a mate. It is crucial that their feathers are maintained in top condition. This is a brief look at a beautiful Little Egret tending to his feathers. It was a little windy so you will have to excuse the wind wobble in the middle! #egretsofinstagram #littleegret #egret #birdsofinstagram #birdoftheday #bird_brilliance #bird #birdphoto #women_wildlife_photography #birds_adored #best_birds_planet #birdsofaustralia #wildanimalinfo #feather_perfection #wildanimalinfo #animalinfopublications #animalinfo

19.01.2022 I was photographing dogs when this fellow, a male Western Galah just dropped in on us for a quick drink. He must have been thirsty, the dogs were Rottweilers.

14.01.2022 I am always a little surprised that birds that spend a great deal of time in the water feel the need to have a bath but they do on a regular basis. This common but beautiful Purple Swamphen gave me a lovely demonstration up close. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I did. #swamphen #purpleswamphen #best_birds_planet #birdsofaustralia #bird_brilliance #eye_spy_birds #birdoftheday #birdcaptures #kings_birds #birds_adored #birds #birdsofinstagram #wildanimalinfo #animalinfopublications #animalinfo #women_wildlife_photography #waterbird

14.01.2022 The art of wildlife photography elevates simple snapshots to images that grab the viewer's attention and make a visual and emotional connection. Wildlife images that have the 'WOW' factor are not just the result of fortuitous timing. Although luck plays a part, patience and skill all contribute to the impact of the final image.
