25.01.2022 This story shows that fencing to protect valuable crops can be important. Unfortunately the facts are very wrong. It says a single feral pig can consume 60kg of Macadamia nuts in a single night. Well my research from the 1980's along with other researchers showed that a feral pig will consume between 2.4 and 3.2kg of grain per night. That is well short of 60kg. No animal can consume its own bodyweight per day! Feral pigs do enormous damage. But let's get the facts right.
