22.01.2022 Jedha is one of our long term furry clients! We have been seeing him for just over a year now and his program includes Hydrotherapy and Gym work twice a week and Physio every 4 weeks or as needed. Jedha first came to us for post surgery rehabilitation following his Cruciate repair. He also has showings of mild Hip Dysplasia and Arthritis in his left Hip. Jedhas owner diligently brings him every week to maintain strength in his Hip and hopefully help prevent any further deterioration in the joint. Please enjoy this video of Jedhas gym program, tailored specific to him and his physical needs.

22.01.2022 Beautiful Fella. Its so fulfilling helping dogs like Fella continue on living the best life they can #Repost @karanwhite with @get_repost Today marks three years since Fellas first #IVDD episode. Life has not been the same since. During the past three years, Jodie and her team at @arc_animalrehabcentre have been there literally every step of the way. And, they continue to provide expert and loving care to Fella.... Jodies work wouldnt have been possible without the initial life-saving work of @drandrewtrezisevet and Dr Arthur House. Their expertise at Peninsula Vet and Emergency Referral is unrivalled. We remain ever grateful to an extraordinary team who have provided us with supportive and kind care. This ongoing support was vital when Fella suffered a second IVDD episode 14 months ago. Tidda has been Fellas constant companion. Sleeping at her side when she was fully paralysed, attending physio visits and showering her with kisses. Fella is a miracle dog. Nothing dilutes her happiness and love of life, including the daily struggles she still faces and the treatment shell need for the rest of her life. Commitment to companion animals is for life. Its expensive and time consuming. But thats such a small price to pay for the love you receive in return.

20.01.2022 Meet Charlie! Charlie was referred to us by Gippsland Veterinary Group - 7 Clinics Across South West Gippsland with a diagnosis of Idiopathic Polyradiculoneuritis (aka Coonhound paralysis). He was almost completely quadraplegic and only able to roll himself around with little to no movement in his legs. After 4 weeks of rehab twice weekly consisting of physiotherapy, underwater treadmill, swimming and gym exercises Charlie was walking again. He is making outstanding progress ...and is continuing a strengthening program to help regain his muscles after severe wastage. Charlies owners have been extremely dedicated to his recovery (even when Charlie has his stubborn, "im not doing anything" moments!)

20.01.2022 Enzo is progressing so well in his Rehabilitation program keep up the good work!

20.01.2022 In the current situation we thought we would share a happy video of the gorgeous 12yo Corgi, Bolda, completing his gym work! Bolda came to us 18 months ago for Physiotherapy and a rehabilitation program following spinal surgery. He recovered very well after his surgery and we now continue to see Bolda weekly for Hydrotherapy and rehab exercises as a maintenance to keep him strong and active. This video provides an insight into his gym program we have tailored specific to him. These exercises address areas such as core strength, proprioception (awareness of where limbs are), balance and flexibility. All very important for maintaining function and strength as our dogs age.

03.01.2022 Poor Indi has Osteoarthritis of the hock. Physiotherapy will help with joint mobility, strengthening the muscles and tendons around the hock and pain relief.

01.01.2022 Hock issues in Horses unfortunately more common than you may think! Our case in this video is Louis. Louis is a 17hh, 9yo Warmblood gelding. He is an absolute sweetheart with beautiful movement but has struggled with Hock soundness for some time. Louis reaches a certain level in his training and will suddenly become stiff, tight over his back and uneven behind. It is clear Louis Hocks play a large role in his sudden drop in performance. This video demonstrates a ridden ...physiotherapy assessment that forms part of Louis rehabilitation program. The main aim of this program is for Louis to maintain soundness and work comfortably at a low level. To provide Louis feedback for more engagement of his hind leg muscles, Rocktape was applied. This will gently teach him to increase bend through his Stifle and Hock. It is imperative Louis only exercises in short, intermittent sequences with the Rocktape on. This is to avoid soreness from overuse of muscles that have not been used in a long time. Please watch and observe Louis action before and after application of the Rocktape, keeping in mind he is only at the beginning of his rehab program and needs to build strength and balance again. Oh and he is very lazy!
