25.01.2022 Laying the mulch and planting the seedlings. Food for the animals and maybe some for us. This is the vege bed at Where Pigs Fly. Contact us if you know of someone who loves being around animals and needs support to volunteer.

22.01.2022 If you enjoy walking or whale watching, we can book you in for Wild Walks. Ability matched bush walking and hopefully spotting some wildlife along the way. Send a message if any of these services suit you or someone you know.

22.01.2022 I will be supporting people with challenges to share the amazing animals of Where Pigs Fly. The trip will be on a weekly basis and I can collect people from the Newcastle/Cessnock area to spend a few hours at the farm. Participation is up to the individual. Sweeping and raking, feeding animals and just giving out loving hugs are on the agenda. The only thing required is a love for animals and respect for rules to keep us and the animals safe. At the moment participants need reasonable mobility as the terrain can be unstable.

21.01.2022 Even sheep need guidance sometimes. Seamus the blind sheep, relies on Eve to show him the greener grass. People can also need support and guidance to reach their goals. Ask about our six week program, an introduction to farm work and working with animals. Dont let having a disability stand in the way of your passion

20.01.2022 The thing about farm work is theres lots of poo. The farm now has a fantastic new poo sucker. It works just like a vaccum and has made work a bit easier. Anyone who is joining me at the farm will have the option to have a go. Of course the traditional poo shovel is still in use.... Either way I find picking up poo quite thereputic. See more

19.01.2022 The weekly group activity of farm hand at Where Pigs Fly is suitable for participants who can understand basic instructions with guidance. Groups are limited to four participants to ensure everyone has the support they need to achieve. There are chores to do at the farm and are often interrupted by a goat or sheep wanting a pat. Participants will need to be reasonably ambulant as the ground in sloped and can be uneven. Contact me, Kate, on messenger, email, phone and check out the website to arrange a meet and greet or to find out more.

10.01.2022 Animals Connect has a new logo. Tell us what you think.

09.01.2022 Welcome to Animals Connect! Please spread the word or share with a person you know who has challenges, that would love an opportunity to gain experiences working in a farm setting. At the moment the NDIS can be used for this service if the person is self or plan managed. I will be looking into NDIS managed in the future.

09.01.2022 Exciting News! Animals Connect has added 2 new support types to our model. Wildlife carer assistance - Helping with animal chores under the guidance of a wildlife carer. (Wombat cuddles a reward for hard work) and Wild walks - Going out in nature to spot all kinds of animals including whale watching (at certain times of year), bird watching. Getting some exercise at the same time. Both of these will be starting up soon for one on one supports.
