21.01.2022 A little while ago we had an urgent request to help Alfie, and older red cattle dog x wolfie, and he went straight into care with Anne and Ken. In a very short time it became obvious to Anne and Ken that they didn't want to part with him hence why you've never met him before. Alfie had some anxiety and Anne tells us he is still settling in. ... He didn't even mind when their daughter's dog Jess visited. Happy life in the sun, Alfie.

20.01.2022 An update on Boof's procedure at the vet yesterday. Well what a day! Boof sadly tested positive for Heartworm... We still went ahead with his surgery, as his dew claws were unmanageable & painful. Also gave him the snip. He is in good hands with his carers Bernadette & Mikayla x So very grateful We will look into his treatment for Heartworm after his recovery from surgery

17.01.2022 Brothers, Dexter and Gizmo are looking for their forever home together! They are both 11 years and have lived together all their lives Don’t be fooled by their age, these two boys might be 11 but they act like 5 year olds! ... They have great temperaments and are willing to learn new things. Their furever home needs to be a quieter house, no young children. Both dogs love pats and cuddles (especially Gizmo), however they do need a home with good structure and kind (but firm) discipline. They are good with cats so long as they are gentle kitties. Gizmo and Dexter will require a good quality diet . They are still learning a few social aspects like toilet training, this is a learnt behaviour from before and not a medical issue. They both have improved so much but it does take time. Gizmo and Dexter both have learnt to sit before their meals and are great on the lead. They both got on well with my own dog and the boys are happy to play with each other, though Gizmo is the more dominant of the two. 10.01.2022 Zelda has not long come into our care and we have learnt she has terrible dental issues. Last week, we visited a dental specialist and Zelda needs to have all her teeth removed. She is only just over 1 year old so we think she will be much happier and will lead a good life after surgery.... Estimate for costs is up to $3000. We plan on running a few little fundraising initiatives which we hope you will be able to support. Here she is with her mate, Megalo (ginger boy), who we saved at the same time (a bonded pair being given away separately on Gumtree!). 09.01.2022 Introducing... kitty NALA Nala is a 7 month old Female Domestic Short Hair Cat She loves cuddles, snuggles and lots of affection. ... She loves to be near you and know what you are doing, and gives you kisses to let you know she loves you. Medical Notes Nala is FIV positive so has to be an only cat. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) can be passed on to other cats through bites-even tiny ones. It does not affect humans in any way. We home all of our cats to be totally inside for the safety of the cats and of course wildlife, but this is essential for FIV positive cats. 09.01.2022 A lovely update received from Emma who one of Jazzs pups Hi there, just to keep you updated on Barry Bigfoot (formerly millman) of jazzs litter. Hes recovering well from being desexed . Getting used to his cone of shame and it does help him catch the ball more( a few clashes with furniture) and it certainly hurts your legs when a 31kilo puppy runs at your legs at full force .

08.01.2022 Sweetpea (now called Cheeky) has gone to live forever with Helen and cats Millie and Peanut (recently adopted Angela). Sweet Pea ... now named Cheeky at her new home. The second week thought I’d have to give her up as she hated my other cats but settled down now and a huge part of the family. 05.01.2022 You never met Carlos (formerly known as Coco). Sarah was looking to welcome another ragdoll cat into her family when Carlos was surrendered to us. The trial adoption went well and Sarah and her other ragdoll, Luna, were very happy to welcome him into the family. Sarah writes:... He is now Carlos and is a lovely happy boy who spends most of the day sleeping next to my feet as I work from home. Happy life Carlos!

02.01.2022 You never met Nugget (now called Boo), he was from the same litter as Houdini and Pebbles. Congratulations Kaitlyn and family! Adopting boo was the best decision we have made as a family, my other adopted baby Toulouse and him are best friends. Both cats have the most beautiful natures never fight, scratch or bite (too hard). Boo loves traveling in the car with us and loves his new life in Hervey Bay. Boo sleeps right next to me every night and follows me absolutely EVERYWHER...E around the house, where I am Boo is, they both seem to know Im pregnant and are very protective of me always laying on my belly and showing extra love. Thanks for allowing me to adopt such a little angel Happy life Boo! Thank you to Mel and Diego for fostering.

02.01.2022 Our beautiful Lucie has found her forever family When Lucie arrived into care she was frightened of everything, never experiencing the outside world ! A huge thank you to her dedicated carers Jamie-Leigh & Rob, who had a few sleepless nights & worrying days. With patience & care started to change her world .... From her new family 'We have had Lucie for a few months now and we have watched her slowly come out of her shell. Everything has been a new experience for her. She loves her car rides now as they mean trips to the park or the beach. Lucie also loves balls and squeaky toys. Lucie has quickly fit into our family. She is such a sweet girl that we have all fallen in love with.' Karyn, Andrew, Alyssa and Zac.

01.01.2022 It’s BootiFul Boof!!! Boof is a 7-year-old Great Dane Ridgeback mix looking for a patient, loving family. He is a dog that loves staying at home with his humans and enjoys doggie company. He has had his vet work completed, which included the successful removal of double dew claws on both front legs which were causing him pain, and he wouldn’t leave them alone. Then we had him tested for Heartworm & it was positive, so treatment and support for this will be covered by AINB wit...h 6 monthly testing etc. From his carer Boof came to us as a very scared and nervous boy who had been chained up all his life. He had so much anxiety during this experience that he chewed the chain and as a result has worn down all his front teeth. Since joining our foster family though he has BLOSSOMED! He is such a silly and funny boy. He LOVES to run around and play with the ball but is equally as happy to snuggle up and get all the lovies and tummy rubs he can. Boof has learnt how to sit and wait for his breakfast and dinner and is a very good listener. He loves his food we are still working on taking our time eating and learning that food will always be there. We are slowly working on his leash skills as he gets paralysed in fear being on the leash. He makes our foster family so happy and he makes our days so much better by just being his goofy, loving self. He is truly one of the bestest and most amazing boys and doesn’t let his past ruin his fun anymore.
