20.01.2022 And now for the final human member of our team - Brooke - our equine osteopath Having grown up with horses, competing in various equestrian disciplines including showing, dressage, and showjumping from the age of 3 years old, I decided to combine my skills as an osteopath and my passion for horses, and completed a Graduate Diploma in Animal Chiropractic through RMIT university. Since completing my Animal Chiropractic course I have treated horses from various equestrian... pursuits including racehorses, performance horses (showing, dressage, and jumping), endurance horses, barrel races, and companion horses. In 2014 I relocated to the Southern Highlands to have my own facilities and continue to pursue my equestrian passion in amateur showjumping. I have two horses, Lola and Scooter, as well as my doggos, Lennox, Stu, and Ruben. My goal as an equine osteopath is to provide holistic treatment and education for horse owners, from the pony clubbers and pleasure riders right through to the professional performance equestrian. I look forward to servicing the Highlands and will provide more information as the Covid-19 pandemic settles. Watch this space.

15.01.2022 Rachel - our doggie osteopath Gidday mate!!! (Ive been practicing) Im a kiwi that moved to Wollongong in 2012 and have been an Osteopath since Montana was in primary school. Call me a nerd but Ive also completed post-grad study in sports medicine as well as animal osteopathy, and Im currently completing canine rehabilitation and canine fitness certificates. ... Before coming to Australia, I spent over a decade working in the fitness industry designing and implementing exercise and rehabilitation programs for people. While I always thought my ideal client was a sports person, more recently Ive found that my ultimate passion is helping sporting dogs. I love biomechanics and human movement, and take a very mechanical approach to my treatment as an osteopath. More recently this has translated into a fascination with watching dogs both in stillness and movement, and how they tell us more than we could ever realise. I love helping dogs move with more ease. My doggos are Patrick and Betty. They are mini schnauzers but there is nothing mini about them. They like speaking their mind! Oh, and they love food too. I look forward to meeting you all in our new clinic.

I was born in the UK and lived there for a bit before moving to Australia with Mum. It was a super long flight but I knew my mum would be ready give me kisses on the other end so it was all fine . I love being in Australia because there is so much room for me to run around and stretch my long legs (yeh they are a bit gangly and I can be super uncoordinated sometimes but life would be too boring if I slowed down at all ). Mum and I do agility together and its great!!! We do lots of fitness stuff too, so I can run around the course at full speed and not injure myself so I really love her for putting all her time into me. I give her lots of kisses and wriggly cuddles to say thank you Anyway, I gotta go, Ive been sitting still writing this for waaaaaay too long. Cant wait to meet you all!!!!!"

10.01.2022 Tilly - our naughty four year old Border Collie "Hey Guys - mum is giving me a bad reputation with these emojis, Im not naughty - just a bit cheeky sometimes So Im the wise old lady the bunch. Im only four but mum says I never really seemed like a puppy. I was always very mature and regal and Im quite happy to keep that reputation ... My favourite things in the world are swimming (my elegance doesnt extend to this activity - any dirty puddle will do!), herding and scent work. Mum finally clocked onto my love of scent work and weve been having loads of fun with this recently. Its really helped me cope with other annoying dogs that get in my way (seriously dogs - give the queen some room ). Deep down I think Im just a human in a dogs body because I love my people so much more than I like other dogs (although my little sister is pretty ok). I cant wait to meet all you lovely humans at our new second home..."

So I learnt my love of food from Patty (no thats a lie, I love food much more than he does ). I may be the youngest of the canine crew but Ive got my Auntie Montana wrapped around my little finger nice and tight. We have lovely cuddles and every so often she may give me a bit of food (honestly, I need to train her better in this department but no one is perfe...ct ) I love wrestling with my brother, eating (did you guess?) and having cuddles with anyone that will give me attention. 08.01.2022 Our job is so satisfying when you get feedback like this: "Guess who just made it the whole way round the pond for the first time in 2 years!" Genie is our lovely 14.5 year old patient who suffers from arthritis and a neurological condition. After just a few treatments and the dedication of her amazing owner in following her exercise regime, Genie is much more mobile and able to continue to enjoy life through her geriatric years

08.01.2022 A huge part of our job (and to be honest, its my favourite part) revolves around injury prevention! We love preemptively starting our pets on a conditioning program to enhance their strength, flexibility and body awareness to decrease the chance of them injuring themselves. This is so beneficial! Whether you own a sports dog, working dog or a much loved pet, they can all benefit. We definitely see more pet dogs injure themselves from chasing a ball or running around the park than we do competition dogs that injury themselves during sport so remember, this is important for all our canine companions! Here is one of our agility dogs practicing her advanced proprioception (awareness of where her feet are) and shoulder stabiliser exercises :)
