10.01.2022 Positive self-transformation does not benefit from repetitive self-castigation. Yes, it is important to realize when we have made mistakes. It may also necessar...y to seek restitution depending on the situation. But continued guilt or self-blame is not a wise foundation for positive change. The energy that should go toward purposeful positive action is diverted into negative self-damaging cycles by blame. When you find yourself falling into guilt or blame, practice prati-paka-bhvana as the Yoga Sutra explains. Observe that pattern of negativity, and consider that you have already been down that road. That path only leads to further clouding and suffering. Instead, accept that what has happened already, just is. That acceptance is not defeat. It is realism from inner calm. It is wisdom to not belabor what cannot be changed any more, and to place your energies toward what can be changed. From that inner acceptance of what is, choose to make a small shift even a small choice toward a simple positive action, toward your better self. Those positive samskaras will build in time and make a new you. Dr. Ganesh Mohan Join the Svastha newsletter at www.svastha.net/signup.

04.01.2022 I will be taking a break from teaching for the time being due to the governments new regulations on indoor gatherings as a response to the coronavirus. I am hoping to use this time wisely, undertaking self study and prioritising my personal practice. Wishing everyone health and well-being in this challenging time.
