22.01.2022 Hi Everyone. How are we all doing today? As many of you aware Allan & I own Anja Dance. There are so many posts asking that we all support small business in the...se interesting times. Well I am not asking you to support us - I am asking that you support the necessary businesses - the ones that help put food on your table, that keep a roof over your heads and amenities in place - the greengrocers, the butchers, the bank, rates eg electricity, gas, water etc - even though we all grumble at times at these things, if we don't or cannot afford the basics then we don't have the luxuries. By supporting these types of businesses, we keep people in jobs which keeps money flowing - circle of life stuff. This might seem a strange statement to many, not asking for support of us - We are okay (and not from stockpiling either ) Yes a new pair of dance shoes if you are a dancer is great - they feel lovely, they are padded, grip the floor and of course, allow you to dance smoothly but they cannot feed you (yes your soul but not your tummy), they can only be worn inside (roof over our head can still dance in the kitchen) and we can dance to the music in our head and heart but better from the radio or computer (amenities). So for the meantime - I won't be sending you emails to buy buy buy at reduced prices because I want you all to come out the other side with a job, with a roof over your head, with food, with a place to live and then we can celebrate with music, dance, going out & purchasing new dance shoes. Please no negative comments, this is a surreal situation - one that we may never see again so let's get through this with dignity and respect.

22.01.2022 Today is International Dance Day. Of course, due to our current situation we are not dancing as much as we would like to. If you have managed to dance in your home - well done.... So I thought I would share some facts about International Dance Day: 1. It has been the earliest and longest-standing form of entertainment and community activity known to man. 2. Dance helps you de-stress, lose inhibitions, meet new people and boosts your physical and mental health. 3.Dance can be traced back to at least 9,000 years to ancient Indian paintings while ceremonial dances appear in many ancient cultures. 4. Dance is a central ingredient in human likfe - from tribes people to professional entertainers. 5. Dance can be enjoyed by everybody regardless of natural rhythm or dance capabilities. 6. International Dance Day began in 1982 - it is designed to encourage all participants to enjoy their favourite styles & routines while broadening their knowledge by embracing other dances and cultures. Dance Day is organised by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute who are partnered with UNESCO. So make today a Day of Dance - put on your favourite music, grab your partner or dance solo in the kitchen or wherever your feel comfortable. Like everyone we are feeling the downturn in the economy. In times of hardship, my motto has always been:... 1. Keep a roof over my head 2. Keep utilities going - electricity, gas, water etc 3. Food on the table. 4. Whatever is left is a luxury. In our current situation this motto still stands - not only for myself and my family but for all my lovely customers too. 09.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I announce the closing down of Anja Dance. From an idea in 2014 to now, Anja Dance has grown to be one of the largest dance shoe suppliers in Australia, having multiple styles, colours & heel heights always in stock. I assure you, this decision has not been taken lightly. The current situation certainly has not helped. What is has done though, is given me the time to do a business check - where have I come from, where do I want to take it to, wha...t finances and other resources do I need to make it happen, is it financially viable to do it and lastly, do I want to? Well the answer to that is, unfortunately, no. Anja Dance has definitely come along way in the 6 years but going forward, it has to close. I have met some absolutely wonderful people while running Anja Dance and I value your friendship and support. So the Showroom is now closed indefinitely, all purchases are to be made online. All the usual warranties and conditions will be upheld. When all the restrictions are lifted, I will come and do some displays, especially at country dances. There are still quite a few shoes left to choose from and I have plenty of stock, just won't be ordering anymore in, so once your size, heel height, colour etc is gone - it's gone for good. I will still be in the dance scene. My love for dance has not lost it's sparkle. I will be involved in the Adelaide Dance Comps, I plan to travel interstate and overseas when all the restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so to other competitions, I plan to work more on my dancing with the SA Formation Team and maybe even look at competing on a solo level, so you haven't seen the last of me. www.anjadance.com.au

07.01.2022 #accomplishment I have finally gone through and sorted my emails for Anja Dance Shoes and NJD Bookkeeping. I'm really slack in that area and it annoys me but I ...have kept putting it off - until yesterday when I added it to my task list and I DID IT! I feel so freaking good. Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today is a saying I think - well it's true. So look around and see what you can accomplish today to make tomorrow better.
