22.01.2022 It's Game Time! - BLOCKS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . A great toy you'll find in any home or classroom - Blocks! Here are some fun langu...age skills that can be taught with this toy: Making words! - Write a letter on each block and help your child build a word. Start off with a CVC word - a consonant, a vowel and a consonant. Help them sound it out and have fun making real words as well as fake words. - Write a cluster (e.g. 'st') or a digraph (e.g. 'sh') on one block and rotate the vowel blocks next to it to create a long list of words. See who can make the longest list under a time limit! Categorisation! - Build a town with different categories of buildings. Single/double block buildings, buildings with vowels/consonants, blue/green buildings, etc. - Ask your child to tell you what is the same/different about the blocks in one of the buildings. - Ask your child to find another block that suits the category to add to the building. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . How do you play with yours? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Comment or send me a message with a toy that you want to use in more fun and educational ways!

01.01.2022 It's great to see Sesame Street has added a character with Autism into the show and is promoting more awareness for it. Hopefully more people can understand what ASD is and not be fearful of it.
