25.01.2022 World Prematurity Day is one of the most important days in the year to raise awareness of preterm birth globally. Today and every day we give our thanks to the amazing work our neonatal ICU nurses and midwives do in saving babies. #PretermBirth in honour of #WorldPrematurityDay2020

22.01.2022 Today is International Men’s Day so we wanted to recognise the contribution our male nurses, midwives and personal care workers make. In the 1960s there were only a handful of male nurses in SA but now 10 percent of the nursing workforce are men. If there is someone you want to recognise today, let them know how much you appreciate them by giving them a shout out in the comments. #TalkingAboutMen... credit: Queen Victoria Hospital midwife Nigel Saunders with female staff, 1980. 07.01.2022 With over 20,000 COVID-19 tests conducted over the past 48 hours, we would like to give a special shout out to all the nurses working in the COVID-19 testing sites and for providing excellent patient care every time. Under normal circumstances, nurses have tough jobs with long, tiring shifts and we are thankful for our dedicated nurses who are making great sacrifices every day, but especially during this pandemic.

07.01.2022 Have your say! The ANMF has partnered with the Climate and Health Alliance to give our members the opportunity to contribute to this timely research which looks at how nurses, midwives, doctors and other health professionals can best contribute to action on climate change. Climate change has been called the greatest public health challenge of the 21st century by the World Health Organisation. The ANMF wants to get on the front foot and empower members to understand and act on... climate change. Your participation in this 25-minute survey would be appreciated, and will help craft resources, training and more to upskill ANMF members on how they can tackle climate change in their own lives, in their practice and in their communities. 06.01.2022 #FlorenceFact #44: From her early thirties Florence generally dressed in black. She became plump and irritable during the long years as an invalid. #ANMF2020

03.01.2022 As announced today, further restrictions will be put in place from midnight 18 November that will affect the whole community and health services for at least the next six days. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them via our website anmfsa.org.au/COVID19

03.01.2022 #FlorenceFact #44: As Florence's close friends and supporters died, she often felt lonely. Her many cats, several named after leading politicians including Disraeli, Gladstone and Bismark, were a source of comfort, and when they strayed, anxiety. #ANMF2020
