25.01.2022 Elopements; intimate, romantic, off the chart feels. [Reminiscing over Libby and Matt's stunning day as I gear up for the sweetest elopement this weekend. Excited much!?] Emma MacAulay Photography
25.01.2022 A quick word on a Legals Only or Registry Style ceremony. After yesterday’s legals ceremony story over at insta, I received numerous questions asking the difference between this and the full ceremony package I offer. Here’s a brief explanation. A legals ceremony is literally as it sounds, we take care of the legal elements to get you hitched, getting it done. These couples have the option to write personal vows, and I ask if they have a reading or poem they’d like me to... share to mark the moment. We can perform this anywhere you please, your house, my house, a bar, a beach, a garden. The choice is yours. We require two witnesses over the age of 18, and anyone else you’d like to come along (post Covid, of course). The official side of things takes approximately 5 minutes, though good luck getting rid of me that quickly. Do love a chat . A few of the reasons I’m asked to officiate a legals ceremony include (though not limited to); a couple simply want to get married, without any bells and whistles of a typical wedding or ceremony. a couple have a friend who’s not a registered celebrant they’d like to deliver their ceremony at the wedding, I’m just there to take care of the legalities. a couple are eloping overseas but wish to take care of the legal aspect before they go. a couple would like to be married now, with a wedding and/or celebration down the track. This is a popular option with the current restrictions, couples are marrying sticking to the 5 person maximum. At a later date, we’ll have a second ceremony with all their loved ones present. This second ceremony would look a lot more like the typical ceremony I officiate. 100% personalised, Love stories, romance, lighthearted, heartwarming moments, all the feels, with all the legal bits already taken care of! And while the legals style is short, sharp and to the point, it doesn’t detract at all from the enormity of the moment. Your marriage to your forever person. I’m working on a package I can send couples who enquire, so they can establish which style is best suited. In the meantime, if you have any further questions, drop me a line [email protected] Ax. 25.01.2022 Some may suggest Mr Anson is getting off rather lightly.... Kellie's birthday AND their (fresh) wedding anniversary both falling on the same date. Zero excuses for missing either, Brad! 24.01.2022 || R E V I E W || Montanna + Michael Well, what an absolute treat it was to meet you Anna. To plan a super spontaneous wedding in 2 weeks and to have snagged you as our celebrant truly made our experience the best it could have ever been!! You are an absolute treasure and I can easily say, now a true friend! (BFF in my opinion).... Thank you for being the most chilled down to earth wedding master that you are!! I am so excited for any loved up couples coming your way! Their experience will be that much more special having you involved || ..I can assure you, the feeling is positively reciprocated. 23.01.2022 ~ NATALIE + NICHOLAS ~ It all began at the Captain Stirling in Nedlands, where our couple exchanged some banter over a few beers. Nicholas was hooked and gave chase, his efforts paying off when he landed sweet Natalie as his forever gal. The baggy jeans, vans and straight peaked cap were retired, (never again to see the light of day), and so, here we have the result. Nicholas scrubbing up bloody dandy, and Natalie, no words required. Truly beautiful, inside and out. Natalie... and Nicholas were married in the company of their closest friends and family at stunning Pepper & Salt Restaurant, with their sweetheart Violette, unfailingly ADORABLE, by their side. Needless to say, we were pretty chuffed with how it all turned out. Thanks for having me on your special day, Nicholas and Natalie. Loved every minute. In The Wilds of Someplace x

20.01.2022 We’re back, baby . Yesterday, Jenna + Kyle did a thing! Ten years in the making, they’d planned an intimate wedding on the sunny beaches of Broome, with their nearest and dearest. But. Well, you know ! So, instead we all gathered on Jenna’s folks’ front lawn, here in Albany. THE most perfect Autumn day, Jenna + Kyle exchanged their vows and we made it official. Toasts were made, celebrations were had, happy hearts all ‘round.... This time next year, they’re all packing up and heading to Broome for a renewal of vows and to celebrate their love and commitment once more. Nailing the best of both worlds, right?! It felt SO bloody good to be back into it, it’s got me excited for a few cheeky ceremonies and elopements booked in over winter before the crazy of the 2020/2021 summer sets in. #bringiton Lovely seeing the delightful Krysta - capturing the moment for our couple .
19.01.2022 Business Hours! Does such a thing even exist when you own a small business? A huge positive of being a celebrant, is that it allows me be home with the groms the majority of the time. And whilst on days, or weeks such as this one, I may question whether this is in fact a positive ( #devilsindisguise), it is absolutely where I want to be. ... Yesterday was "one of those days". Like........ Shocker. (Today isn't much better if I'm being honest, thanks to teething!) I booked a catch up with a couple down from Perth, timed beautifully with the kids' rest times... only, they didn't rest . Let's just say I was incredibly fortunate that these two were VERY understanding and happy to go with the flow. For this I am extremely grateful. I however, was mortified, and unreasonably grumpy with the kids for the rest of the day. It highlighted for me the importance of me finding my work day flows, and leaving the rest of the time to just "Mum". Some of you are waiting for, what I consider, a much too overdue email reply. Last week was huge. I assisted with a beautiful Celebration of Life, a first for me. It consumed me entirely for the past almost fortnight as I worked through an entirely new type of celebration. Tomorrow is my day to get caught up, keep your eyes peeled for an email! Going forward; my business days are Wednesdays and Fridays. Weekends will be pending calendar! Striving towards a sustainable workflow, ensuring my couples get precisely what they need from me, and more. All the while, being the best Mum I can be! Love this pic of a mini-Clancy and I, entirely wind blown, by Emma MacAulay Photography.
19.01.2022 Sharing some of the love buzz! With Covid-19 recovery phase three set to roll out on Saturday, couples and wedding vendors are PUMPED! 19.01.2022 Libby + Matt Italy's loss was our gain. These lovers were set to elope to Italy... Denmark was an exceptional back up plan and I for one was bloody stoked the universe bought this pair my way! Working with these two towards their special day was nothing short of delightful. The honour of being a part of such an incredible, magical moment in a couple's journey is something I will never take for granted. ... Thanks for having me, L+M. 15.01.2022 The 2021 calendar is filling quickly. Between new bookings and my honeys who've had to reschedule, I'm fully booked until June 2021 . If you're in the midst of wedding planning, consider this your timely reminder to contact all those vendors on your dream team list. I'll bet you a bottle of Tanqueray Gin I'm not the only one with a diary that's spilling at the sides (). With life in the slower lane for the moment, I'm taking the opportunity to tap out from the socials for... a little while. You can find me over at my website, my emails, or via phone if you're keen to chat. Stay safe, happy and healthy everyone. Big love Ax
14.01.2022 K. Gimme more of this now, please. I've been lucky to lock down the love of some legends who've eloped over the past few months... it's injected some much needed fuel into my fire and kept the passion burning. Looking forward to a spesh little celebration with some faves tomorrow, but it's fairly quiet on the hitching front until September from here on in (website refurb, ceremony writing and couples meetings come at me!). Anyone out there fancy a cheeky winter elopement, y...a'll know I'm here for it! (How is it three years (already) next week since Ross and I did just that?!?!) 14.01.2022 Procrastinating, looking through photos making mental note #2310 that this is the year to PRINT MY PHOTOS!!! This one cracks me up, thanks south coast wind . . Cant help but feel it’s an accurate depiction of life as we currently know it. Bunkering down, holding tight to those we love, Mum () rarely with a moment to myself without one, two or three children (pooch included here) touching me with at least one body part. Mums, I know you feel me here . All with a smile o...n our faces, feeling ever grateful for where we live, all we have, the knowledge that people are doing all they can to restore some normality (whatever that may be) one day. Above all, grateful for our health. Because really, what else does matter?! . A friend delivered some serious perspective today, ISO ain’t so bad ya know. Keep those chins up, stay connected to family and your mates, and keep the gin supply plentiful (I missed that one above, VERY grateful for gin). Big love, Ax [ @emmamacaulayphotography ]
14.01.2022 http:// CHECKING IN // PHWOAR. What. A Week. (Has it been a week? More? I've already lost my sense of what day it is!). How's everyone doing out there? The impacts of this b#@tard Covid-19 are so vast and varied, for each and everyone of us. I'm feeling for you all. Yesterday, it became glaringly clear to me the mental health strain this can, and will, place upon many of us. ... We are so used to interacting on a daily basis with other peeps, Grace has been asking on the hour, "we see some kids now, Mum?" or "we go to Nanna and Poppy's house now?" (any tips on explaining Iso to a 2 year old are welcomed). Having initially decided my introverted tenancies would adjust to this style of living with relative ease.... now I'm not so sure. I urge you to reach out and touch base with your tribe, those you speak to regularly, and those with whom your interactions are more sparse. Speaking with my mate in Darwin yesterday, when we hadn't managed a phone call in some 12 months, it felt GOOD, and definitely my highlight for the day (love ya, Kell x). ** Thanks for the snap In The Wilds of Someplace. In my element, sealing the deal for a pair of lovers. Bring that shit back!!! x
13.01.2022 Too cute not to share . Mat + Mon were forced to postpone their original wedding party plans due to covid. No way were they going to wait another year to lock their love down and so opted for a legals ceremony down at Cosy Corner Beach, even sooner than their original date. I took the family along for an outing, leaving them on one side of the massive boulder splitting the beach in two, while I walked up and over to the other side and married my legends.... Coming back post ceremony Grace piped up almost before I’m back on the sand, Mummy marry people?. Yes, darling. And so now, every time I tell her I’m heading out to do some work Grace replies with, Ok Mum. You marry people on the beach?. Yup. I’ll take that. [silly selfies from that day]

12.01.2022 http:// KATIE + JAXON // I first met Katie at the rehearsal of Hannah's wedding. Katie was a bridesmaid, and simply one of the sweetest people I'd met. She swept up Grace, only a tot at the time, in her arms and proceeded to entertain her while I did my "thing". The next day, Hannah's wedding day, Jaxon strolled in. Jacko and I grew up in the same farming town of Borden, and it wasn't long before I'd established this sweetheart I'd stumbled upon the day before, was his stellar gi...rlfriend. Katie and I stayed in touch the next few years, primarily exchanging notes on our Goldy pups, intent on arranging a puppy play date one day. 11.01.2022 ABOUT ME; In an attempt to keep it short ‘n sweet, here’s 10 quick fun facts about yours truly! 1] I’m a country kid, torn between the red dirt of the north and the white sandy beaches of the south. I’ve to & fro’d between the two over the years, only recently coming to the realisation I’m now more south than north. A visit to the top end annually ought to whet my appetite for the red dirt, or so my husband hopes . 2] Ross and I met in 2015. I was a bridesmaid, he a grooms...man. There was Gentleman’s Jacks involved, a dance floor, some blue-light disco action. A week later, we proceeded to have a date that lasted 4 days. The minute I stepped aboard his rig (), it was love & we’ve never looked back! 3] Ross and I are entirely blessed with our two little ratbags. Grace was born in 2017, Clancy In 2019. They’ve changed our lives immeasurably, we’re excited for the adventures to come as a family of four [oh, and hallelujah for gin]. 4] I love fishing. Like, reallllly love it. I suffer hideously from sea sickness, so it’s a case of get my quota quick before I’m down & out . 5] I’ve lost count of the different job roles & professions I’ve worked in..... Teaching, governessing, civil construction, photo lab technician, wedding venue manager, sales and marketing officer, celebrant..... just to name a few . 6] I lived in Canada for a little under a year, and I cried half the flight home. I’d LOVE to move back there one day. 7] I’m a nature lover; hiking, swimming, snorkelling, SUP’ing, kayaking, fishing & camping. That’s when I’m my happiest. I can’t wait til the kids are at an age we can all get amongst it together! 8] I have an innate creative side, it’s gone by the wayside as an adult but I’d love to learn some new skills one day. Silver work (jewellery), pottery, floristry & photography are on my bucket list. 9] Our goal is to take the kids on a trip around Australia, before they’re teenagers and too cool to hang with Mum + Dad. 10] I became a celebrant in 2016, my first wedding February 2017. This profession ticks so many boxes for me; working with & meeting so many wonderful people is the highlight. Thrilled to be here

10.01.2022 Unashamedly third wheeling with the new Mr + Mrs Baker . I’ve maintained all the way, the BEST part about being a celebrant is by far the people I meet. Montanna and Michael are no exception. A bloody loveable pair, not to mention their adorable rug rats and doting parents. I didn’t want to leave this magical morning! 10.01.2022 The sweetest ring bearer I ever did see... you sure do make cute ones Ethan and Zoe! Involving your children (or someone else's), in your ceremony brings such special incidental moments, none of which you could possibly plan for. 10.01.2022 http:// CAMILLE + GLEN // Yesterday was, quite simply, magical . Camille + Glen, Holii @inthe.wilds , myself and their gorgeous second witness, Joy, all met in the dark of the morning, trekking down by torchlight to Camille’s most favourite place in all of Albany. A makeshift dressing room upon the rocks for our gorgeous bride to slip into her stunning gown, a bottle of bubbles chilling on ice, Glen logging into Zoom for their loved ones to dial in for the moment, there was so mu...ch happiness in the air as we chatted and awaited daybreak. Camille and Glen, two people quite literally destined to be together. As they exchanged their personal vows with the sun lightening the sky behind us, I knew in this moment sunrise elopements are absolutely, definitely, 100% my new favourite. For Camille and Glen, waiting for the day their original wedding plans could go ahead, was simply too long away. They navigated their way through the turmoil of emotions, and they planned the most perfect sunrise elopement right here in our home town. @inthe.wilds capturing their magic @kate.samiotis.hair doing the legendary early morning shift taming our bride’s locks @lushfloraldesign with the exquisite bouquet and yours truly, , with the honour of marrying these honeys.
10.01.2022 Courts + Jack // 27.09.2020 "It was during a visit to the farm that Courts was bitten by a spider near her eye and deemed unable to drive back to Perth. Unfit for driving, but in no way unfit for work, and so to the mulesing cradle it was. Now, as we’ve already heard, Jack needed no convincing at this point that Courts was a keeper, but witnessing this go-getter spending a week on the cradle, he knew in no uncertain terms he’d best do all he can to not let this one get away. ...And for you fellow farmers out there, Jack knew Courts was the Case IH equivalent of chics. 'Cos as we all know, if it aint red, leave it in the shed. Country folk are my jam, and these two are no exception. There's just something about the authenticity of people who work the land. 01.01.2022 MONTANNA + MICHAEL [ #wedfest 2/2 ]. Here’s the thing. Planning an elopement in TWO WEEKS is entirely possible. Mon + Bakes are my living proof .... Their morning elopement had ALL the things; a romantic + heartfelt ceremony, vows with both laughter + tears, champagne for breakfast + a handful of their (many) loved ones with them to share their moment. The primary consideration in planning a wedding in such a short timeframe is the lodgement of the Notice of Intended Marriage (one month prior to a marriage). Mon + Bakes took what many may perceive as a ‘hurdle’, + turned it into one heck of a Signing Party! Here we are, ticking off the legal side of getting hitched with over 100 of their peeps there to witness, all the while christening Mon + Bakes’ recently completed deck . Ultra chill, Saturday glam, plenty of heckling from the crowd, so much love, laughter and the very best of memories. Don’t be afraid to think outside the square when planning your wedding. Do what resonates with you as a couple, and I guarantee you’ll have the time of your life . To the beautiful @sophieblakecreative - girl you are UNSTOPPABLE Love working with you, thank you, thank you THANK YOU for ‘gifting’ me these beautiful souls xxx
