23.01.2022 MICHELLE || Congratulations to @michelletangye6094 who won Runner up Contemporary Lady this afternoon at the @mountisaraceclub St Patricks Day Races wearing a custom @annaduttoncouture Dress. Michelle has been a longtime client of mine and we have designed a number of more fitted dresses however, this time Michelle wanted something with a fuller skirt. Michelle purchased her @millinerybymel Headpeice which was the start of the outfit. Each year I find green fabrics are alway...s the most difficult to come by and I searched for two days to find the perfect Brocade that was not only a green base but also had some pink throughout it in a simmilar floral shape to the Millinery. I luckily had the gorgeous Emerald Green plain Genoa fabric in the Studio as the other plain green I had ordered with the brocade was more of an apple green and was far from a good match. The dress features a fitted bodice with one side sleeveless while the other side has a cuffed puff sleeve with a glittery gold button. The left shoulder has a detachable Green Genoa Bow. The Full A Line skirt also had one of our green Organza Retro Petticoats underneath to create a fuller skirt shape. We also added some gold piping into the seams for a little more luxe. 21.01.2022 Earlier in the year we did some alterations for our client Kate to her purchased wedding gown to perfect the fit but due to Covid she decided to elope with her husband. She again got in contact with me a few months later to alter her gown to make it "different" for her 2nd wedding which would include family and friends which took place over the weekend. I made changes by halving the train length on the gown and then adding the lace border back onto the remaining train, I then... removed the sash on the gown and used it to create the waist band for the gorgeous 4 layer detachable Tulle overskirt for the gown. 17.01.2022 WHAT. A. SHOOT | On Sunday I travelled to Airlie Beach to take part in a luxury Bridal Shoot planned, designed and photographed by Vanessa @timeless_images_by_vanessa . I was honoured to be asked by Vanessa to create a Bridal Gown specifically for this shoot. I wanted to create something quite luxurious and different to client requests which featured two Corded Laces, one being beaded, Blush Silk Organza and Ivory Duchess Satin. The gown featured a 2 metre train which had w...indow features of hand cut Beaded Corded Lace, heavy embellishing made from Beads, Diamontees and Crystals on the Straps and on the front of the gown and the custom Veil was 5 metres long. 14.01.2022 FITTING APPOINTMENTS | As a lot of our bookings were re-scheduled to 2021 quite early into the situation unfolding and the risk to our health was too great it was the best decision to close the Studio to clients. Moving forward from Tuesday 18 May 2020, We will be doing limited appointments each week. There will be some new conditions attached to fittings and we will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks. Please note as follows:-... * It is requested that no children be brought to the Studio unless they are being fitted; * Shoes are to be removed at the front door to help maintain a clean environment for our Studio; * As our studio space is limited we request that only the client attend fittings, if it is absolutely necessary one other person can attend the fitting; * IF you are sick or have been sick or around close contacts who has been sick in the last 14 days please re-schedule your appointment; DO NOT enter our Studio. * If you have travelled from a Covid Hotspot in the last 14 days or been in close contact with someone who has arrived from a Covid hotspot we ask that you re-schedule your appointment for at least 14 days time. * We will provide Sanitiser/Disinfecting Hand Wipes to clean your hands prior to entry to the Studio; * We will be mopping the floors with disinfectant and wiping surfaces down after each client; * And as always if your Booking Deposit is not paid we are not able to hold your spot in our schedule or appointment. However, we made a few changes to personalise it for Renee which was a higher back neckline, Custom Collar which was inspired by an image of a collar Renee found of a 1930's dress. 05.01.2022 AMBER | We spied these gorgeous wedding pics of Amber and her husband taken by @deannewoodsphotography. Amber was one of our recent alteration clients who brought her gown to us for a few alterations including the hem and also to give more coverage in the bodice area. We shortened them and the overlayer of Tulle had long vertical motifs of floral lace, which had to be unpicked and shortened/ reproportioned to suit Ambers height and then stitched back down. We also added a tr...ain bustle. The bodice required a shoulder raise to give good bust support and we used lace remanants from the hem to cut out motifs and stich into the centre front of the bodice where it has previously been quite open. We also added more shaped tulle and hand cut lace onto the front arm hole area of the gown to make it more comfortable and modest for a bigger busted client.
