04.01.2022 Sponsored rider Amy Jennison flying over the ditch! Amy rode 2 horses over the weekends competition and again reminded me why I asked her to be a sponsored rider. After a good (but not perfect) showjumping round, she decided to scratch from the next height. Amy always puts the physical and mental well-being of her horses before a ribbon.

I think every single rider would benefit from her expertise, no matter what your or your horses level! Must be LVRC or EA member.

01.01.2022 Reposting from 2018- CROFTON WEED - HIGHLY TOXIC TO HORSES it’s that time of year, the crofton weed is budding!... I’ve seen this weed at a number of properties in the last few weeks, unfortunately unbeknownst to many horse owners, its very toxic to horses. It causes respiratory illness and can kill a horse in a matter of weeks. The first signs of toxicity can include a cough during exercise. If you suspect your horse may be effected by crofton weed, remove them from the pasture and seek veterinary assistance ASAP. It’s quite tasty to horses, so unlike fireweed, there is a good chance your horse will eat it. You’ll need to pull it out or spray it. It should be burned to avoid spreading seeds. It’s flowering now, so be cautious not to shake it when removing or seeds will spread. seek further advice if you have large amounts. Most commonly grows in shady wet areas and overgrazed pastures.
