25.01.2022 Well what a decision that was !!! After looking for a while we finally found the perfect AI sire to take our herd to the next level !!! We welcome Glendlands D Winchester to our AI tank. We were lucky enough to secure some straws from this powerful sire that has every bit of correctness going for him !!! This sire was top seller ($80,000) at the Glenlands 2018 sale and is going over some of our exceptional cows and heifers in our next AI program. Exciting times ahead this year and for further years to come. Thanks RSVP Droughtmasters for the opportunity to purchase these straws.

22.01.2022 We had a great visit by Jo and Keith Hill today who were out to check on how their lovely quality line of stud heifers have been going for us. This is a photo of Castletower 1048 and her first heifer calf. The Apple didn't fall far from the tree with this exceptional young heifer! The dam's blood lines go back to Castletower Horizon and Talgai Impact, and she is bred by one of our current stud bulls ( Craiglea Hercules). Consistency is the key and the cross with Hercules is working a treat !!

22.01.2022 With a tough season and late calving from the breeders, we pulled the weaners off and gave them their second weigh in. All of the weaners gained weight moving forward in these tough conditions. We had an average weaning weight of 250kg at 6-8 months of age. A couple of bulls came in over 300kg and are shaping up to be handy bulls at a young age. Time for these fellas to start growing and start showing their potential for next year's bull sales !!!!

21.01.2022 Paddock Shift ....

20.01.2022 Things have been dry on the coast and we where happy to get 26mm over the last week. With most of the cows calved before Christmas only a hand full of younger heifers are due to calve any day now. We are really happy with the quality of the calves this season and our new sire Craiglea Hurclues won't be going anywhere for a while. It's always good when you find the right sire that crosses over the cows and produces top quality progeny !!!

18.01.2022 Our last calf for the season. A late one but probably our best one !!! This little heifer is packed full of the best genetics that are around. With some top bred bulls ( Swan Horsham, Crusader Mission 11, Fairhaven 99/5) and Castletower's best cows in her bloodline, this heifer is one we might use in the future to cross with our AI Sire Glenlands D Winchester !! Any one have any name options starting with C .......

17.01.2022 Things have been good following the recent rain over the last two months with close to 400mm for the first 3 months of the year we managed to spell a few paddock and let them go to seed. We also sold our first lot of steers out of our stud herd at the gracmere sale yards, getting 402c a KG !!. The young working pups are enjoying a swim after there run to check the breeders.

17.01.2022 Dry hot weather isn't making things easy for our breeders. Watching the storms lately go around our place is hard, but when you have the bloodlines of Castletower Droughtmasters that were bred to handle the hard, harsh coastal country there isn't anything to worry about. This is Castletower 360 one of our top cows producing some awesome quality calves. This young heifer is a cracker and the cow is doing well considering the tough season we have had. This cow will be part of our AI program along with several others as good as her next season to Crusader Mission 11.

16.01.2022 Last pup left !! Cream bitch 10 weeks old. Very energetic pup that should turn out a very handy working dog. She has been microchipped and is fully vaccinated. 14.01.2022 With the last of our young bulls just sold out of the paddock. We will not be offering any bulls for this year's National Sale. This young sire is off to a commercial herd in the local area. With some very handy and consistent weaner bulls coming through, next year is looking to be another good year for us and some of our proven breeders going into an AI program with Glenlands D Winchester and Cruisader Mission ll. 13.01.2022 Some of this season's bull calves by our new sire Craiglea Hurceles !! These fellas are two peas in a pod. Both having good strength in there genes showing great development at a very young age ( 9 weeks). This is just a few of some very powerful bull calves from Hercules. Looking forward to presenting his young bulls over the next few years !!!!!

12.01.2022 Well last year was a dry hard year for us and our first lot of bulls done it tough !! Here at Annandale Acres we don't supplement feed any of our bulls until it is sale time. We do this to enable us to pick the right bulls that will go out and perform exceptionally well in all country types. We look for natural muscle, weight gains, correct structure of feet, tidy underlines and great temperaments. With a total of 335mm for the first 2 months of the year we are off to a crac...king start. Plenty of feed and a real change from the past 2 years. Our new sire Craiglea Hercules is putting out some outstanding calves over our Castletower bloodline cows. With consistency in all the young bulls we are looking forward to the coming years of breeding with this big fella !! 904kg in working condition at 7 years old on some of the toughest coastal country. 09.01.2022 What a show Mt larcom put on over the week end. Full pens of commercial cattle and a massive line up of stud cattle were on display. We placed 2nd with our heifer Annandale Acres Augustine and another 2nd place with our bull Annandale Acres Amedous. This bull keeps on performing and is starting to take shape of a strong future sire. Amedous is getting prepped for the National Sale in September. This bull was born with all the natural muscle you could ask for in the breed. Ame...dous was brought in from the paddock a few weeks back and was lightly prepped for the show. Now it's time to go back out into the paddock and grow that bit more before heading to the National !!!! Keep an eye out for this bull it may be our first of many but this fella is impressive and has all the background breeding of some of the best bulls bred in the Droughtmaster breed !!! See more

08.01.2022 110.5mm of rain for the last 4 days . Also our first calf for the season to hit the ground. A bull calf by Castletower 360 ( Castletower morgan daughter) sired by our very consistant bull Craiglea Hercules.

This young bull Annandale Acres Corona is only 8 and a half month of age and showing good trates of a future sire (310kg). 07.01.2022 We like our bulls quiet and used to people and different surroundings. When being weaned we use the dogs to yard break them and also tail them out every day for an hour or two before brining them back to the yards for the night. Another method is Clayton's favourite, bringing them in on his bike haha. If this kid could sleep down the yards he would !! These 7 month old weaner bulls are showing everything we like about our stud sires!!

02.01.2022 Cool off in the water trough with a cold beer after good results for the afternoons preg testing! With the way the last two seasons have been for us we are very surprised on the preg test results this season. 85% in calf and all were back in calf after 48 days. It starts with the foundation of the cows that makes our bulls hardy, fertile and able to take on any country that Australia has to offer. Our speargrass country is starting to fall away with the last decent rain being in April, but the cows are holding well and produced some cracker weaners despite the tough conditions. A few early calves have started to show their faces for this year's calving season!

01.01.2022 Our first Droughtmaster National Sale is done and dusted. Our first bull, Amedous sold to Lawrie Pastrol co. Charters towers. Thank you for your support and the purchase from our stud, we are sure he will do well for you. Also thanks to SBB and their team for selling him when the bidding was tough late on day 2.

01.01.2022 With the wet season just around the corner we are taking advantage of our rotational grazing paddocks and putting dams in every one of them( no more pumping water ). Clayton checking on the progress, I think he is happy haha bring on the rain

Put on the scales today weighing 775kg with an average daily weight gain of 2.12kg since being on his 90 day sale prep of 1.5% body weight fed daily( not on a grain bin).
