25.01.2022 I have made a good start on my new crewel design. I am really enjoying this piece and having fun with a new colour pallet of grey and gold/brass yellow.

25.01.2022 I got this far on one large leaf but don’t think the colour of the top section is quite right - it is too blue. So I started the second. I like it better so far with warmer golden tones for the seed stitch but I still have the problem of the top segment to solve and of course I don’t have the shade I think might work in my otherwise substantial stash. Just as well there is plenty of other areas I can work on this morning Have a nice Tuesday.

24.01.2022 OVER THE POND dragonflies and buttercups. I loved stitching this piece of silk embroidery. I designed for a class on silk shading and am super excited to be teaching it in Canberra this coming weekend The kits are ready and packed with a few spares back in the shop https://annascottembroidery.com.au/

23.01.2022 A wee bit of progress on my List Connections piece. The water is finished and I am now working on the mermaid remembering how much I dislike using any kind of metal thread in the needle but happy with the effect so I will keep going.

23.01.2022 Keeping my distance to the rest of the world at the beach house. Sitting on the balcony and stitching something very different. A tiny cross stitch rug for my dolls house. The thimble is there for size... beautifully meditative. Stay well everyone. #miniatureembroidery #handembroidery #needleworks #embroidery

21.01.2022 Now where was I ??? Back to my crewel project (at last). I never meant to leave it this long and since I very rarely write my plans or ideas down I was wondering where I was at. Luckily I had at least made some marks on the fabric that helped prompt my memory . Note to self: write notes. Happy weekend everyone.

21.01.2022 I finished the rock - I think I will look at it for a few days, perhaps I will fill it in some more.

20.01.2022 Wrapping more beads. This time with beautiful bright colours.

19.01.2022 After weeks and weeks of feeling very uninspired, I am stitching.. You can read what I am up to on the blog: https://annascottembroidery.blogspot.com//long-overdue.html

18.01.2022 IT’S A JUGGLE. It has been a juggle, with lots of other projects fitted in but my happy Jester is finally finished With golden slippers on his feet and bells on his hat he is ready to head to the framers.

17.01.2022 I have been very spoiled with a home delivery of issue 107 of Inspirations magazine, a beautiful bouquet of my favourite flowers and a lovely catch-up! Thank you so much Ellaine - This is always such a beautiful magazine but the cover of #107 is just stunning. The issue includes my Sweet Repose crewel work pillow fabulously photographed. Thanks @inspirationsstudios for sharing my work so beautifully

16.01.2022 Two whole fabulous weeks in the ‘top end’ - what an incredibly, magnificently beautiful place this is. I feel privileged to have seen and experienced just a teeny tiny part of it.

16.01.2022 Jacket almost done I was going to wait until the I had finished the last piece but..... naaahhhh I am so happy with the way it is coming along I had to show you. Have a wonderful weekend

15.01.2022 After feeling ‘stuck’ for a bit (see the blog why) I am back working on my mermaid. Making it up as I go - Golden swirls to create the rock. Looking up and out the window (last pic) and deciding to head outside for a bit.

15.01.2022 ‘It’s a Juggle’. I now have a very good reason to finish this. #stumpwork #stumpworkembroidery #stumpworkfigures #artembroidery

14.01.2022 I just finished the hair. Enough for today. Tomorrow I hope to embroider the rock so she no longer floats on sea.

13.01.2022 It is always really special to see my work in print. Thank you Inspirations Magazine for making Sweet Repose look so so beautiful.

10.01.2022 I have been stitching in a different scale this week so. A tiny peacock pillow for a friend.

10.01.2022 ... and then there was Holly . Now that I have finished the embroidery for both ornaments all there is left to do is to make them up. Happy Saturday everyone

08.01.2022 My next new project Mistletoe & Holly is coming along I finished the main embroidery for the Mistletoe yesterday Now it is ready for the wired leaves to be attached and some wrapped bead berries. 08.01.2022 I am making progress on my new crewel piece and playing with colours in embroidery is always fun. Sometimes it is easy, sometimes it involves a bit of trail and error.

05.01.2022 Ta-daaaa - it has been a bit of a mad scramble but the kits for my Happy Holly & Merry Mistletoe Christmas decorations are FINALLY ready. Thank you everyone for your patience! https://annascottembroidery.com.au//raised-embroidery-col/

05.01.2022 Progress in covering up the wording on this. It is slow going but I really want to finish and move on.

03.01.2022 I completely forgot to show you the finished Holly $ Mistletoe tree ornaments but here they are. With Christmas just around the corner, I am busy putting last bits and pieces together and if all goes to plan the kits will be ready end of next week

03.01.2022 My Little Mermaid is finally finished. Covering the lettering worked out ok and I have a very special home in mind for her to go to.....

03.01.2022 The embroidery for my little Mistletoe ornament if finished . The wired leaves are in and this morning I finished the wrapped bead berries. All there is left for me to do is putting it together. I can’t wait to see it finished but I have decided to embroider the Holly first.... Have a lovely Thursday. X.

02.01.2022 Last week I had a really nice chat with Gary Parr on FiberTalk. We talked about stitching, how I ended up doing what I do, designing, teaching and... then we ran out of time. It was so much fun. You can listen to our chat here: https://wetalkfiber.com/20//19/fiber-talk-with-anna-scott/ Also on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/GCoIjlpXU8Y

02.01.2022 Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells - the pdf patterns for my Happy Holly & Merry Mistletoe Christmas Ornaments are in the shop. Just as well, these are quick little projects.

01.01.2022 I get the next project framed up and ready to go. Where some might find this part of prepping a nuisance, I quite enjoy it . There is something very satisfying about seeing a fresh, crisp piece of fabric stretched and waiting to be embellished with stitched.
