21.01.2022 Being grateful & happy for many reasons, today & many days before that... Let me list a few *The safe arrival of a new addition to a lovely family we are close to *The sound of happy healthy children under my roof *Having visitors & employees that aren’t afraid of getting in & getting jobs done (so super stoked my dining windows & downstairs area are shiny clean) ... *News of couples we know of & care for going to be parents for the first time & some getting engaged (love happy news) *The cooler weather, if not a bit breezy *20 of my sunflower seeds in cotton wool house lab experiment germination (planted into bigger pots do see if they live) *The plants left in the vege patch are going well *The flowers are still blooming in the garden *The next lot of visitors should arrive over the weekend & the caravan is all set up & working waiting their arrival *There’s a tinge of green out in the paddock ...as I said just a few I hope this Thursday find you happy & grateful...take care ...#happyThursday PS #Junior wonders why we have to be out in the gutsy wind when there’s a perfectly good house to be curled up in ...

14.01.2022 A Thursday Thought question for you...will or won’t my home science horticulture experiment work? #homeschool #SOTAdaysrelived #kitchenlab Sunflower seeds cultivated from grown sunflowers via chook feed cotton wool balls ... egg carton moistened via spray bottle of water plastic bag tied with rubber band placed with my succulents in my office (heaps sunlight) I put it in sun for a bit & the condensation was nice ...was worried the wind would blow it over Hoping this works & will do the same when Grandbabies arrive ...if they are interested...otherwise will just do it to plant out more sunflowers I was totally amazed how many seeds are jam packed into the head of the sunflower ...nature is amazing & all about survival...reproducing, living to reproduce aka #survival...said that before today too 33 outside in the shade today Warming up Wind still in a northern or easterly direction Hope you are dealing with Thursday in a purely positive & happy way Look forward to your answer ...yes or no & maybe an explanation so that I can learn ...thanks

12.01.2022 Well I think the wait yesterday was worth it (arrived at motel 10.20pm, good flight) ...at arriving at families house at 6am many hugs & the youngest of my four Grandbabies wasn’t too sure of Nanni Annie to start with ...but a talk to the pup-pies & snuggle, rocking & singing (poor child) one baby, who woke way too early was sound asleep in no time...haven’t lost my touch ... how precious they all are ...how lucky we are as a family to have them all healthy ...a family/friends gathering on Sunday to celebrate a couple of milestones will be one highlight of my visit...making memories with little people will be another #blessed #family #fortunate #preciouslittlepeople #thelittlethings #work #school #traffic

11.01.2022 You should be grateful for then you are happy is Turia Pitt philosophy...be grateful for three things in the morning she advises. I have tried to live by this philosophy for a while now. Wake up on the top side of the grass. Roof over my head with climate control devices. Be thankful for all family & staff/friends back home safe after work or travels. ... Rethink having too much to do & be thankful I am able to be busy/mobile/healthy (this I remind myself of often) This morning I was headed to the vege patch to water it early as the days are getting warmer...I was distracted by flowers in my garden...I don’t have many but each makes me happy & grateful for them being there. Time & effort spent truly worthwhile. I thought I would take my morning coffee to the vege patch to enjoy...taking photos one handed made me spill some along the way...the cup itself has a lovely story that makes my heart warm & extremely grateful So as I have mentioned here before ...it’s the little things that matter most...the priceless things...I hope you find at least three things to be grateful for this morning... #happyhumpday

09.01.2022 On #reflection I am NOT at the #beach but I do love being by the sea, that smell and noise, this was taken 12 months ago, today What did I learn, be grateful for, have empathy with, and be mindful of, yesterday I learnt my bg aka blood glucose was "good" (happy dance)... I was grateful for getting dusty and filthy cleaning out, and polishing old chest of drawers ( the kids used in their bedrooms many years ago) ...now to re organise all I have deemed good enough to keep into these draws and organise my office...oh that feeling of filling boxes and rubbish bags with things I thought I had to keep but haven't looked at let alone used in many many years...at the moment there are piles of stuff to be sorted...but it is progress I was also grateful to be able to call in and have smoko with a friend yesterday, her 2 puppies actually greeted me happily for the first time instead of yapping at me...they are both really cute with totally different attitudes I had empathy for two friends, who lost people in their lives, death is so final and raw, I just wish I was closer to give them real hugs. I did learn on Wednesday that to rent a car for 10 days like I did the last time I was in Brisbane, less than two weeks ago, that cost me $467...will cost me $2556, same sort of car (little zippy thing) for the same amount of days...I would say the price increase is because of Christmas and the borders are open...thankfully son and DIL changed their plans so I don't have to rent a car this time...I get more grandbaby time & their second car on hand So many stored photos need to become accessible I may be MIA from here in the near future...but I am planning that 2021 is the year to concentrate more on my #photography...so my absence may be replaced with ..."dear goodness she posted AGAIN" So many stored photos that need to become accessible See more

08.01.2022 Friday's Fortunate Feelings They say a photo/picture paints a 1000 words ...I think I could write a 1000 words looking at this first, very simple photo taken just the other day while mustering. It is looking in an easterly direction, towards the channels. Lots of trees. #memories mixed with the present and the future... The second was taken in 2016, just to the right of the first photo, looking in a southerly direction. The quote is so apt for me. #naturaltreelessplains The third photo was taken in 2014, south of where the first two were taken, looking east at Black Mountain. A social media friend who became a real-life friend, may his soul rest in peace, came to visit...he "totally" got what my photos were trying to express, once he stood in its vastness. It touches me, that people who have experienced many landscapes and adventures overseas can be so humbled by our Outback. This takes gratitude, appreciation, and understanding to "see". My connection to this land could never be bought, I truly do feel complete in it...considering I am an outsider...I'm truly humbled when others feel the same via my photography. My buzz, excitement, love, passion that I get when capturing it via still or video, camera, phone, or drone...I am privileged to experience it. The fact that this land is our business, which I am extremely proud of, and share this pride with family & the #GoodwoodCrew, just adds to my blessings. Is that 1000 words? Not quite...but I bet if I kept going I could ramble on for 1000. The fact I could nearly do this for every photo I take, or series of photos on any given day...ahhhhh but who would do the business paperwork, the gardening, cooking and cleaning...(a little voice in me is saying "who cares" LOL) ...who wants to experience my Outback, do my cleaning, gardening & I'll do the rest LOL ...I can dream. 07.01.2022 "A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays bend to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky. The word comes to English via the French mirage, from the Latin mirari, meaning "to look at, to wonder at". This is the same root as for "mirror" and "to admire"." Unfortunately, for many who were on the brink of dying of thirst, the mirage of the Outback has been a broken promise of water. I rarely look at our mirages and not reflect on t...his thought and feel for those who have perished. I am using this photo, that I took on Sunday, to reflect on another "optical phenomenon" ...the visual of all my family under one roof...I am clinging to the hope that it will no longer be a mirage but a real thing in the not too distant future...inside I am one excited mother/Nani, (visual Kermit Frog excitement, plus) on the outside I'm trying to keep my cool (visual Clint Eastwood in a Fistful of Dollars, cool) just in case it does turn out to be a real mirage. So to be on the optimistic side (crazy frog excitement) I really must complete the spring clean...how opt it is Spring ...in the preparedness of the impending phenomenon being a visual reality. If I can, I will drop in from time to time, and share some photography...if not, take care, and I will see you after the "distant objects" have materialised. Have I ever told you that one of my favourite sounds is all my family under one roof...add a couple of good friends to that and my gratefulness, heart, blissfulness, happiness is full to overflowing. I know we are a lot more fortunate than many dealing with missing family because of Covid...this doesn't stop wanting to see all my family, hug them, make memories and meals with and for them. 03.01.2022 I look at the #sunflowers with the light shining through them and think of one-word photosynthesis but my mind wonders...nature is just so amazing...the science we have learnt from plants is truly magnificent...every little hair, the shape of the petals, flowers, leaves, all have their part in making the plant exist ...like all in nature their main aim is to survive and reproduce It may be a fair bit different but the photosynthesis is how plants convert light to survival......their light challenge...the same light is my light challenge to take photos...without that light source us humans wouldn't survive either...how convenient that the sun is just the right distance from the earth for us to survive...there are some amazing animals and humans in extremes of this earth that have adapted to survive well...from the depths of the sea to the highest of mountains and all places in between. Back to not wondering...I had a small hiccup in my email and website...but thanks to my magic web manager, it is all good again...so hopefully, since I have so many sunflower photos, I will write a blog in the near future It was paperwork day today...I just received an email I have been waiting for to finish off all I need to do today...so best do that.
