25.01.2022 Inspire Radio is looking for more people to join our team! We are now getting involved in Events in the community and we would love to get some more people on ...board to help build experience and make sure things are running smoothly especially when we are out on the road! Who are we looking for? Tech People! Especially people who are comfortable and had experience setting up Microphones, laptops and sound equipment with care and in a timely fashion. We also need to make sure all song lists and connections are running for when the presenters broadcast. Marketing Social Media gurus to run our page and other social media platforms. Work is subject to availability. Although it is a volunteer position, references and training is provided. Potential for on going work in the future is a possibility and will only be offered to those who put in the work. This is a great opportunity to expand your resume and meet new people and be involved in exciting things!

21.01.2022 Last night I attended a workshop on cyber security. It was a bit of an eye opener. Did you know that 1 in 6 small businesses are hacked? We are an easy target as we tend to think it only happens to big companies. Made me think. What are the security questions asked when we create accounts? What are the questions asked on Facebook posts where people say here are my answers, copy and paste into your timeline with your answers. Just a bit of fun? Where were you born? What was your first car? Etc. Sound familiar? It is so easy to give the hackers the information they need without thinking. Be careful about the information you share on social media.
20.01.2022 At Roleystone Karragullen Seniors Club for a workshop on Cyber Security by Dr David Cook which has been arranged by Alyssa Hayden MLA. Thank you Alyssa for arranging this workshop.
19.01.2022 A few people have already started working from home and more will do so over the coming days and weeks. Not everyone will find it an easy transition. I have a few ideas that might make it easier, I know I found some of these helped me when I transitioned from employed to self employed. Firstly, if you can, try to stick to your work routine. If you take a packed lunch, make your lunch and put it in the fridge. What s your routine when you arrive at work? I used to switch ...my computer on and then make a cup of tea whilst it booted up. If you have to grab your bag and go out of the house and come back in again to switch from home to work, do it! I still do this occasionally if I cant get my mind focused on work. Do whatever works for you. What is your lunch routine? Do you eat at your desk? Alone? With colleagues? If you had lunch with colleagues try to do this virtually using something like Zoom. If you went to the local park, have lunch in the garden. I would also suggest setting the alarm on your phone for the time you usually finish work, especially if you are on your own, its surprising how easy it is to lose track of the time if you get stuck into something. Finally, if you do have trouble settling into a routine, dont beat yourself up about it. They say it takes at least three weeks to change a routine and these are exceptional times. Stay safe and take care of yourselves.

17.01.2022 Question? Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.... 5th November 1605 Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the British Houses of Parliament - every year this is celebrated in the UK.... What are we celebrating? The fact he failed or the fact that he tried?

02.01.2022 Breathing in and breathing out. Many of us take this simple action for granted yet for those that live with asthma, it can become a serious challenge that can s...everely limit a persons activities. National Asthma Awareness Week is on from the 1st to the 7th September 2020. What is Asthma? Asthma directly affects the lungs when certain triggers cause swelling and a narrowing of the airways. This restrictive feeling in the airways along with the mucus that is produced makes it hard to breathe. Asthmatic episodes can occur over a longer period of time or within minutes.
02.01.2022 There are a number of posts on Facebook at the moment with people seemingly making contingency plans for working from home if they have to be isolated due to the COVID-19 virus but no-one seems to be preparing for their leisure time. What are you going to do with all that free time? As someone who has on two occasions been stuck at home I know how difficult this can be. Both times were due to shoulder operations and arm being in a sling. First time I thought thats ok, ...I have all these books I want to read, I can catch up. Didnt even finish first chapter of the first book, it wasnt what I wanted to do. I wanted to be out and about but because I couldnt drive I was restricted to where I could walk to. Public transport was difficult because even though my arm was in a sling I still got knocked into which was painful. In fact 10 days later when I went for my follow up appointment I almost begged the surgeon to let me return to work as I was climbing the walls at home. Second time around I prepared myself better. I started reading the books before the operation so I was already into the story. That second time was soooooo... much easier. So what I am saying is, start thinking about what you will do in your spare time if you are confined to your house and garden. If you have the books you want to read, start reading them now, start that project now. Put as much thought into how you will leisure at home as you do into how you will work from home. Being mentally prepared is just as important as every other preparation you make. See more

01.01.2022 Taking part in a Speakers Institute workshop in the City today. Not the most flattering photo of me but in my defence I was looking down at my notes. Great Workshop, thank you @Warren Tate
01.01.2022 Be careful out there people. The scammers are around. Over the last four days I have received over a dozen emails telling me that I have an Important Notice from (bank name) Internet banking. Including banks I don’t use and even one supposedly from NAB about my ANZ account. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS. If you are worried sign onto your banks website to check your accounts.
01.01.2022 I like these casual Networking events, come along, have a coffee and a chat with other small business owners.
01.01.2022 Ready to start my shift, helping out with the admin.
