I cannot get enough of the curious way they explore everything around them, their careless happy smiles and the easy, simple way to entertain them (dry gras, an old windmill or rocks will do). 24.01.2022 With a few highlights of this beautiful family session I am wishing you all a Merry Christmas! It is families like Elizabeth and her boys - such a fun, loving and kind family - that always make me feel so grateful and happy! It means so much to me to be able to spend time with such amazing families during my sessions and to capture those special memories for you. I soak in every moment, all the giggles and funny conversations with the kids. It makes my heart smile and makes u...p for the family time I do miss out living so far away from my own family! Give your loved ones an extra big hug this Christmas - no matter if in person or virtually! Enjoy the moments together and make some more precious memories - in every form: together in the same home or separated by oceans, borders or other restrictions. 24.01.2022 An afternoon at Calton Hills Station... If you have been following me for a while then you know that I appreciate afternoons like this very, very much! Travelling out to cattle stations to photograph or rather document your very special way of life is always something I love doing. It's a way of life that will never stop to fascinate me and I am always super excited when a family invites me to come to their home to create some special memories. That's exactly what we did with... Emma and her beautiful little family. She mentioned a few places on the property that she wanted to include in the session - so off we went to explore the cattle yards, cuddling horses and climbing a hill close to the homestead for the perfect sunset view! Have a look through the images and keep in mind that this place is where they call home! So so special - who wouldn't want to have their very own sunset lookout so close to their doorstep or all those cute animals to hang out with every day? Definitely a childhood dream!

24.01.2022 Last session done, one more gallery to deliver and then I am OUT OF OFFICE for a few days! I will take some days off in a magical Outback paradise to recharge, enjoy nature and relax a bit. I won’t have good phone reception so if you message in the meantime, an reply won’t be too long away - you might just need to wait until I am back in civilisation on Sunday.

19.01.2022 A little throwback to my session with Caitlin and her beautiful little family in Townsville a few weeks back - an afternoon all about baby cuddles, sibling love and exploring the nature in the most beautiful sunlight! When booking sessions in Townsville I usually expect a session at the beach but Caitlin immediately said she would rather shoot in the beautiful Outback scenery that she is used to see on my feed. No worries! Off I went location scouting to find the perfect spot for them. It's not spinifex and red soil but I found the most peaceful spot in the nature just minutes out of the city. And I must say the country suits them absolutely perfect! Hard to choose a few highlights of this stunning session!

19.01.2022 nothing better than dancing bare feet at the end of your session and we are off to another little getaway (if you work from home you really need to get away otherwise you work too much and all the time ) However, only shooting and editing is on hold for a few days but I will be checking emails and messages. 15.01.2022 We all love our grandmas but baby Riley's grandma is a very special one! Due to border closures she couldn't travel into Queensland to welcome her new granddaughter after she was born. So grandma rang me and organised this photo shoot for Rheanna, Jake and little Riley. What a beautiful gift and perfect way to capture and share those moments with the whole family! And I can imagine who is going to hit the road soon with borders now open! I can think of one very happy grandma out there

15.01.2022 It think I never smiled so much editing a session but Iylah's giggles and smiles are just toooo cute! 14.01.2022 Their last evening in town after ten years of outback life! So what's a better way to celebrate the end of a decade than heading out for one last outback adventure...and inviting me and my camera to capture the memories! Not only are they the most loving and kind family with the cutest kids (swipe through for some real cuteness overload!) but Summer and Lachlan also have the most beautiful love story! I could have stayed forever and listen to Summer telling me stories about their journey together

14.01.2022 Sooooo, today I did a thingtoday was my last day at my ‘other/day’ job. I’m done. I’m relieved, I feel free and totally ready to focus entirely on my photography business, my ‘baby’, my passion, the job that doesn’t feel like a job because I truly love it. I was pondering about this step for so so long and thought it’s a difficult decision, but in the end, guess what, it’s not! It’s okay to move on, close a chapter and be ready for a new one. When the time is right you just... feel it! It’s a decision I made to be fully present for my business and my clients, to grow and to have the energy to be creative to the fullest. I cannot wait for bigger, better things to come and I cannot thank all my lovely clients enough. Without your ongoing support I wouldn’t be able to take this step. But I also want to and need to be more present for my family and in the end for myself. It’s about understanding the lesson that this year wants to teach us: slowing down and taking care of yourself and your loved ones. For the past almost 10 years I would say, I was always juggling two thingsuni/work, work/work, work/study, business/workand I can honestly say that I had enough. It’s time to focus my energy on one thing only and to actually have some free time which is not spent working, studying or growing a business. No more pressure or feeling guilty of not being enough or not doing enough for the one or the other responsibility (trust me this is worse than working long hours!) So, wish me luck! Because if you know me, you know that it has always been hard for me to slow down, rest and take breaks. There is a lot to learn for me and I will have to force myself do this slowing down thing. But at least I can do it on another level of just being a photographer and not adding all those other responsibilities into the mix. .and to finish that up here is a little something that is actually giving me goosebumps! When it is time for something new, you will feel it. You will feel a desire to let go, to shed layers, to move, to re-create. You will know because there will be subtle shifts all around you. You will release the old because you are really clearing the path for what’s ahead. Trust the process. Know that life does not take from us anything unless there is something else imminently awaiting its replacement. (Brianna West)

14.01.2022 ohhh hello civilisation - 5 days in paradise turned into 6 (especially after we realised it was actually a long weekend ) One of the last things I did before I took this little break was celebrating the engagement of Clarissa and Bart! Climbing rocks was again worth it to get the most beautiful sunset view for them to enjoy and celebrate this new chapter of life! Happy engagement guys!

14.01.2022 Get ready for a goosebump moment! This was not an engagement session but a family session with Pj's whole family instead. Pj obviously had other plans... At the end of the session when we focused on photos of him and Medina he went on his knees and asked the question of all questions! Ohhhhhh, my heart! Goosebumps, heart rate went up and it was sooo emotional! What a perfect proposal in the most beautiful sunset light, the whole family present...and a photographer who c...an capture this so important moment! Soo sooo beautiful! Congratulations again guys!!! This was such a special moment to be part of and definitely one of my highlights this year (...no I did not know this was going to happen! A total surprise for everyone and for sure a very special proposal! )

11.01.2022 I don't think I ever had a more exciting week of shootings! Three sessions with horses in one week, three totally different stories, three different locations all across North Queensland including a beautiful family property yesterday. And one thing I hear during all those sessions: you must be mad to work with horses, dogs and maybe even young kids at the same time! NO WAY! I love it! It is just the best to see the special bond you all have with your furry friends, to see your kids growing up so free showing me all their animal friends and getting excited to get photos taken with them. It is just the BEST!

09.01.2022 Chloe & George Where should I start...these two were just soooo fun to hang out with! It made me so happy to see how much they enjoyed their session! We laughed so much and as you can see celebrated their engagement! So much happiness, love and joy! Never before did I have such a hard time to select images for a gallery! It took me honestly ages but how could I not select all those images that are literally so full of happiness! ... Thaaaaanks sooo much guys for the amazing afternoon and for celebrating this special occasion with me and my camera! And lastly one thing must be said: George spent a lot of time driving around to find the perfect spot for the session that would be exactly what Chloe imagined! As you can see - he did a great job!!!

09.01.2022 Sometimes you meet people for the first time and you have the feeling you have known them forever! Exactly how I felt about Selina and her beautiful family. I actually had to remember myself to keep on photographing a few times because we got so distracted talking about all sorts of things from our amazing outback life to cooking, food and so on and on and on! It was the most magical session with this amazingly kind family - exploring the horse paddock was never that much fun! Thanks sooo much again guys for our wonderful afternoon! It's the magic of sessions like yours that absolutely mean the world to me!

09.01.2022 Some things in life are just meant to be! So when I travelled out to Riss and her beautiful little family on their property St. Ann I knew that this is going to be just the most special afternoon! We had the best time exploring some pretty stunning spots on their property from a very impressive river crossing to old wooden yards. What a place to call home! The boys showed me all their animals (check out those cute puppies!!) and I loved to watch the boys just being boys. Their excitement to show me around at their place was just priceless! I cannot thank Riss enough for inviting me, hanging out with me that afternoon and allowing me to capture their beautiful way of life and this magical childhood for them!

09.01.2022 The Twentyman Family - the most adventurous, fun and easy-going family to spend an afternoon with! The boys ran around wild exploring the location with dog Oscar not far behind! The funniest thing to watch - Oscar definitely had a blast! Tory chose this stunning spot as location and it worked out just perfectly! I love it when you plan for you session and have a vision of how you want your family photos to look like! This sparks my creativity and it is just fun to make your vision come reality!

04.01.2022 ...pretty much me right now realising that I have survived silly season 2020! I cannot believe it but I just delivered the last gallery after a 2 months marathon of non-stop shooting & editing (...what am I going to do with all that free time now?!?) 53 galleries/shootings in 59 days - countless hours glued to my camera and my computer!... I will enjoy a much needed week off at the beach doing pretty much nothing except for sleeping, eating, yoga, reading, walking on the beach - in short: recharging my batteries. There are so many beautiful galleries to share from those past 2 months and I cannot wait to do so! ...and this is not a wrap for the year, just a mini break and I will get the camera out for a few more sessions this year!
