20.01.2022 Let's finish the week with a little exercise. Have you ever thought about your values? Why is that important?... Your values clearly describe what it is you stand for. They are your guiding principles. Your values help you to ensure that your work, your actions and behaviours are always aligned to what you truly believe in. This allows you to lead with integrity. Leading through your values helps you to ensure that you don't put results above your values and how you treat others. The more consistent you stay within your values, the easier will it become for your team, your clients, your friends and family to get to know what you stand for. These people will learn to trust you because they know what to expect whenever they interact with you. So for this weekend, I invite you to think about your values. What are the non-negotiables that you stand for? What are your fundamental beliefs that define you as a person & leader? I will share my values below and would love to see yours too. Image Description: The image shows a little card in a wooden holder with the words "What are your values?", visible in the background is a blue coffee cup, a flower, a few books, post-it notes and a cactus. #leadlikeyou #vulnerability #inspiredaily #courage #vulnerabilityisstrength #daringgreatly #boldbraveyou #courageovercomfort #worthiness #wildheart #vulnerabilityissexy #vulnerabilitypost #vulnerabilityalert #vulnerabilityisbeautiful #vulnerabilityispower #bravingthewilderness #vulnerableleadership #daretolead #courageousleadership #courageandstrength #courageinbusiness #leadingwithlove #leadingwithempathy #leadingwithpurpose #valuesmatter #valuesbasedleadership #valuesdriven #values #leadershipvalues #leadwithvalues

17.01.2022 Leadership lessons I learned from my 2.5 year old My son is my teacher. Parenting has taught me a lot about leadership, mainly because it constantly teaches me more about myself. ... Every day I learn more and more: How to be fully present How to be patient How to understand a different perspective How to control my emotions to be the calm in his storm How to communicate clearly What I truly value in life How to set my boundaries The importance of self-care How to say sorry How to be there unconditionally Many different ways to say I love you Leadership starts with leading ourselves and understanding what we need and how our behaviours and words impact the people around us. What is something that parenting has taught you? Image Description: Image shows a white female with blonde hair (Anne) sitting at a table outside on a deck. In her lap is a white blond toddler (Anne's son). They sit in front of an open laptop and notebook. The background shows water. #boldleadership #selfawareness #leadlikeyou #leadlikeyou #vulnerabilityhangover #vulnerabilityisthenewstrengths #vulnerabilityispower #vulnerablewomen #vulnerabilityisbeautiful #vulnerabilitychallenge #vulnerabilityisthenewstrong #vulnerabilityiscourage #leadershipidentity #selfdevelopmenttips #selfdevelopmentgoal #leadershipbrand #leadershipbranding #selfdevelopmentcoach #selfdevelopment101 Leadership lessons I learned from my 2.5-year-oldrhood #beingamom #boysmom #parentinglesson #strengthsbasedparenting #leadershiplessons #parentingtool

15.01.2022 "Choose to Challenge" is the theme for this year's International Women's Day. And I think today and every day, we all can do better in challenging our own bias towards minorities and inequality. It starts with educating ourselves and understanding the unconscious bias that drives us.... And the key here really is that we all have unconscious bias! Flick through the post to understand more about unconscious bias. For tips to challenge your own bias, check out my blog post via link in my bio. It's time for us to #choosetochallenge. #IWD2021 . . . . Image description: It is a carousel post with 8 tiles with a turquoise border. The text on the slides says: 1. What is Unconscious Bias? 2. A Bias is a natural preference towards or against something. We are exposed to a lot of information and rely on our automated decision-making patterns to make decisions and assess every situation quickly. 3. We all have these biases based on our experiences, upbringing, education and exposure to media. Biases start to form when we are young children based on what we observe and learn from our parents. 4. Throughout our lives, we develop biases towards gender, sexuality, age, race, disability, religion, education and social classes, etc. 5. We judge people just within seconds of meeting them and decide whether we trust them or not, purely based on facial features, appearances or body language. 6. Most bias is harmless. BUT bias becomes problematic if it causes us to treat people and groups differently and discriminate others based on our model of the world. 7. Unconscious Bias affects all of us, and we all can do our part to reduce the negative effect it has on others. If we do not realise that our subjective pre-assumptions drive us, it is nearly impossible to change anything about it until we decide to uncover and challenge our bias. 8. Want some tips on how to uncover your unconscious bias? Read my blog article "6 tips to challenge your unconscious bias" via link in my bio

03.01.2022 Almost 2 years ago, I was made redundant. It came at a very vulnerable time in my life. It hurt and bruised my ego.... I felt ashamed. I was worried that people would think of me as a failure and that it was my fault. I was worried it would reflect badly on my image. The truth though is that redundancies happen in business ALL THE TIME! I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or maybe was I in the exact right place at the right time!? Unemployed for the first time in my life I was at a crossroad. It let me to a place of true reflection. I was able to ask myself what it was I actually wanted to do. For years, I was caught up in the career race up the ladder. I had a successful career, a lot of frustrations but also so many fun and proud moments along the way. And so there were always more reasons to stay than to face the fear and try something different. But 2 years ago, there was no job or anything else to lose. After a few weeks, I knew what I wanted to do. I discussed it with my husband, cancelled all job interviews and announced on LinkedIn that I was gonna start my own business as a Strengths and Leadership Coach. A failure has let me to the best decision in my professional life. A failure did not define me. A failure was a chance for something new. Has a failure or set back provided you with a new opportunity or led you down a new path? I would love to hear your stories. Image Description: Image shows Anne, a white female with blonde/light brown hair, sitting outdoors in a cafe with a street in the background. She is holding a green cup and looks into the distance.
