23.01.2022 Work or wherever our Monday to Saturday world is, is where God also is already. It is important for followers of Jesus to understand as much as we can about what it means to follow Him there as possible. Highly Recommended if you can possibly make it.

19.01.2022 God's promise is to do something to the good with the bad things that happen to us as we walk with Him through them. That in no way says those things are good or excusable. An encouraging testimony.

18.01.2022 God is present every where. When it comes to discerning His voice, a common error is to assume that God speaks only in particular situations or only in specific ways. This error minimises God's voice, usually with an assumption that God only speaks in religious settings. The complementary error is to assume that if we are in a religious setting, then surely what we hear is God speaking and never the expression of evil. Neither is true; God is present in the world and evil ...is present within the church. The danger is that we might miss the voice of Jesus because we are unwilling to hear him through the way by which he is speaking. We reject what we are hearing and presume that this could not possibly be the voice of Jesus because of the source or the venue. However, a discerning person learns to be alert and attentive to the voice of Jesus in every part of life, even through unexpected channels of communication. St Augustine of Hippo (354AD) was converted in response to the words of a child playing outside his window. His experience is a reminder that God may well surprise us and speak to us in ways and through those whom we might initially discount. 18.01.2022 Those associated with Annerley Baptist in the past may remember one of its past pastors Rev. Trevor and Joan Ross. ABC was a significant part of the Ross family's - Faith, Andrew, Karis and Peter - life and ministry. Trevor went to Jesus last night after a 2 week hospital stay, the last few days of which were in Palliative Care. Though he will be greatly missed there is a deep joy and peace knowing he is with Jesus and we will see him soon. Further details will be posted w...hen finalised. Any comments posted here will be passed on to Joan and the family. See more

16.01.2022 Some sad news this week that both Lance and Hope Hogg who have been such a significant part of Annerley Baptist Church have passed into Jesus presence. We are thankful for them both and for their ministry and the confidence of their rest in their Lord's presence. At the same time we share in the grief of the family and the sadness of this double loss. We know Jesus who has been Lance and Hope's comfort for so many decades will also be a comfort and strength to the family now.

15.01.2022 It is with much sadness that we let you know of the passing of John Walker into the presence of Jesus his Lord, in the early hours of this morning. Please pray for Rae and the family. A service will held at Annerley Baptist Church at 10:00am, Monday 3rd of September 2018. More details will be released as they come to hand.

12.01.2022 2016 was a year that many people are happy is past. For me, I'm delighted in what God has been doing in our midst and through us in other people's lives. He hasn't been idle. I'm really looking forward to 2017 and what He will continue to do through the various ministries and activities of this group of His people, through our services together, but most of all through each one of us as we open ourselves up to Jesus, allow Him to form His image in us and to touch the world that He loves so much through us. Bring it on.

10.01.2022 Although there are other reasons, the major reason Christians doubt Gods love or even the truth of Christianity is that they expect God to act in ways other than He promised to act.

10.01.2022 Remembering how blessed we are

07.01.2022 Last Monday we were privileged to have a celebration service for our brother in Christ, John Walker. Rae and the family put together a very fitting service. Many good things about John were shared. Afterwards Rae told me of some poems that some of Johns National Parks Association friends had written about him. I was intrigued. How many Christians do you know whose non-believing friends write poems about? ... Rae kindly gave me a copy. I asked if I could share some parts of them. The poems were written by some obviously good friends who thought a lot of John. They were a good natured, funny, friendly poke about some of Johns funny ways on a field trip; mostly about his insatiable desire for knowledge and also his less than ordered style. And amongst the good natured ribbing there was also something else. One poem, The Fellow I Slept In The Tent With ends with these words: We all learnt a lot - from HIS attitude, too And as I read it at home I wondered, if anyone wrote a poem about me what would they write? And I thought theres time yet. If someone wrote a poem about you what do you think theyd write? Its worth thinking about. Jesus is writing us into HIS poem. There's still time yet to influence what's written. Blessings, Pastor Angelo

07.01.2022 Our thoughts and prayers are with Gail & Bruce and the family.

06.01.2022 Older saints who continue to minister effectively habitually engage Jesus in their here and now and listen for what He is saying to them. Author Gordon T Smith in The Voice of Jesus says: We have a greater capacity to listen to Jesus if we are frank with ourselves about who we are, where we have come from, what we have experienced and we hope for. Only then can we develop the ability to attend to the inner witness of the Spirit. ... We turn from sentimentality and pretense; we affirm things as they actually are, not as we wish they were. We strive to see and accept the actual circumstances of our lives rather than live and act as though they were otherwise. This includes honesty about our history, what we have been and what we have done. But further, it includes accepting what has been wrong about our lives, whether we are to blame or not, whether or not we have been all that we had hoped to be. It also means that we turn from the propensity or tendency to indulge in a wistful memory of some better time in the past. Lets individually and together strengthen the habit of recognising the past, but seeking what Jesus is doing now and for the future. Blessings, Pastor Angelo
