24.01.2022 Missing the great community connection we enjoyed at the old bookshop? Create Annerley would like to share some opportunities to join with other locals in subsidised, low-cost arts activities this month. We previously shared our song-writing workshop in the new bookshop space in Braille House. I'd also like to share the puppet-making workshop around the corner in Annerley Hall over two Saturday mornings. Thanks to a Creative Sparks grant subsidising, the workshops are very accessible, and we welcome all locals from Annerley and nearby. 21.01.2022 We all miss the old community bookshop, but some good things are happening in the new bookshop in Braille House: Create Annerley group has secured a grant to hold three arts workshops, including this opportunity to learn about songwriting, being held in the very atmospheric Braille House bookshop space (Bookshop 507) in November. Two other low-cost workshops on puppet making and street art techniques are being held in Annerley Hall and Crush City, also in November. 03.01.2022 Hi All. Remember the Dam Dollars? I went to see Paul a couple of months ago. It was just after fires round Laidley that reached the next ridge from Paul and Bet's place. When I was there the whole place was hard, brown and dusty. The dam was all scraped out, finally. That's what the dollars were for. But not a skerrick of water in it and the alpacas staring stoically at the whole affair. Now look!! Paul sent me this photo a couple of weeks ago. Magnificent. If I can get hold of one with Paul in the middle, on the lilo with a can of (diet) coke, I'll post that too! I just thought I'd share that with the Bookshop community. Don't know about anyone else, but I'm missing it at the moment. Hope everyone's ok. Share your comments. Naomi
