21.01.2022 The following trends for tropical weddings have just been posted on the Your Queensland Wedding site and are reproduced here to assist your planning for your tropical style wedding here in the Port Douglas area. PINEAPPLES - This fruity favourite goes hand-in-hand with the lush tropical landscape of the Whitsundays. From jewellery and décor to quirky socks for the groomsmen, there are a million ways to incorporate this theme into your special day. NATIVE FLORALS - We are luck...y to have access to some truly beautiful and unique flora in Queensland. Many couples are choosing to compliment the natural beauty of their outdoor location with native florals and bouquets. Simple and relaxed but eye-catching, natives are timeless. LUSH GREENERY - The ‘it’ colour for weddings in 2018, and going strong for 2019! From bouquets to ceremony arches, to table arrangements and hanging installations, greenery provides a fresh and natural elegance to styling. CIRCULAR ARBOURS - Breaking away from the traditional arbours, we are seeing circular shapes take centre stage, complete with delicate foliage, florals, soft grasses and woody branches. PERSONALISED SIGNS - While not a new trend, this one is definitely sticking around. Personalisation has made its way into every aspect of weddings, as couples show off their unique style through customised décor and signage. WELCOME BOXES - Another way couples are showing their unique personalities is through the rise of the welcome box. Gifted to each guest as a gesture of appreciation, this is a modern take on the token gift generally given as a keepsake from your special day. Personalised welcome boxes are a unique way to make your guest really remember your day for years to come. MOODY COLOUR PALETTES - Darker colours like burgundy and black sounds risky, but we are seeing a rise in this trend as couples opt for a dramatic colour palette. When mixed with oversized floral arrangements and accents of marble, a romantic and bohemian feel is created.
21.01.2022 There is proof that the Gods favour lovers. For two recent weddings the sun shone for a few hours on the day for the wedding, although the days either side poured rain. Yes, I know it is supposed to be lucky if it rains for a wedding, but it is so much nicer to have good weather - and so much better for photos. Above Simone and Tristan, a lovely local couple, celebrate their wedding at Newell Beach during the couple of hours it did not rain.
19.01.2022 Just back from a two week trip to Japan, so I changed my profile picture to my new favourite one of me in kimono. Sorry I did not bring it back with me, so I can't wear it for your wedding, although I do have an Indonesian outfit. Looking forward to lots of lovely beach weddings.

01.01.2022 These are devastating times for everyone and there is no one who is not affected. Most of us are, if not self-isolating, at least self-restricting. There are now restrictions on all public meetings and even for weddings and funerals. But the 5 people for weddings is for indoor weddings, not outdoor where you can have up to 10 people, provided you all social distance. You can still be married on the beach, or in our garden, which is a lovely tropical setting with no extra ...charge. If you really want to be married this year, you could elope, even with a few friends. I would be honoured to be your Celebrant for your intimate wedding and you can contact me now to make arrangements. I hope all the couples I have married and those who have booked weddings but need to postpone, keep well and safe and look forward to being able to marry any who have postponed in the hopefully near future.
