21.01.2022 I used to think that if my photos were better then people will pay more for them... But year after year I could see my work was getting better but my sales werent getting any better. If I get that new lens... then people will buy more...... or the new backdrop... better lights.... But honestly, none of that made any difference to my bottom line.. On the verge of giving up on my dream, I worked out that if I could get people to spend just 10% more, I would be able to give myself a pay rise. SO instead od chasing the BIG WHOPPERS I focused on small increments consistently. Over the years I tested a million different things and I kept tweaking everything I did and before I knew it, I had quadrupled my average sale. My life changed and my family were finally proud of me, but most importantly, I was proud of me! 16.01.2022 I grew up in a photo lab so I don’t remember the day I fell in love with photography because it just a part of my DNA .. Nowadays, it’s the memories I love most. The feeling of loving and being loved by the people who are no longer with us anymore. This is my baby Chris almost 28 years ago with his grannie & great great grandma ! Yes we had 5 generations living - how incredible was that! It was her 90th birthday and we had another 9 1/2 years with her. ... This photo is one of many that makes my heart smile. 09.01.2022 How do you store spare doonas & linens? Ive just worked out how to Marie Kondo the fu#k out of my linen cupboard and go all French provincial pretty shit ninga style on it. I think this might be worth the effort! ... Opening the cupboard doors have gone from ohhh fuck I need to throw out some shit To awww aint this pretty what beautiful gifts we have to share! I hear stories from photographers all the time- -People dont value photos any more -Facebook doesnt work for me... -My clients arent on Facebook Only to have those beliefs smashed when they learn how to connect with and market to the people who will value beautiful photos and happily pay their increased prices!
